Yogurt Park came highly recommended to me. Located extremely close to the UC Berkeley campus, this is a staple for students in the area--and it's been like this for a long time, as this place has been around for decades. My professor remembers Yogurt Park from when she was a student years ago.
Right off the bat, I can understand why this place has been around for so long. Yogurt Park changes its flavors every day, keeping customers on their toes and offering a chance to branch out and try new flavor profiles. There is no seating; they serve you at a window, and you line up on the sidewalk outside. Unfortunately, because of this setup, they do not offer samples. That's the only reason why I'm giving them 4/5 stars. As a pickier dessert eater, I really rely on samples to make my decision. I wish this is something they offered, especially since the flavors are constantly changing.
Because they constantly switch flavors, they only offer a handful of options each day, which they publish on their Instagram page every day. There was a decent range of flavors when I went, but the real star of the show for me was the toppings. At first glance, the toppings might look too expensive ($1 per topping). However, they're actually not toppings. Regular toppings get sprinkled on top of your yogurt. These toppings are actually mixed into the yogurt, meaning you have your toppings mixed all throughout the cup instead of just on top.
I ordered the smallest size they offer (which is still huge) and got the cappuccino flavor with cookie dough topping. It was essentially a cup of cookie dough with yogurt surrounding the dough. The cappuccino yogurt was excellent (essentially espresso flavored) and the cookie dough tasted fresh. My partner ordered the mango flavor. It was more of a mango cream, but still good.
We paid $10 for the 2 small yogurts and the addition of 1 topping on the cappuccino yogurt cup.
I highly recommend trying this place!
