The staff here were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The biggest downside was the bathrooms — they were quite dirty, but honestly that seemed more due to the inconsiderate guests rather than the hostel itself. With only two toilets available, it can be a bit inconvenient, but manageable.
The location isn’t the absolute best, but it’s easy enough to get around since several bus lines stop nearby. One nice perk is that the longer you stay, the more benefits you get — after 2 nights, transportation is free, and after 3 nights you also get free museum entries. Towels are available for rent for just 1 euro. They also show The Sound of Music every night, which is a nice touch.
Tip for Salzburg:
If you’ve been traveling a while and are over the usual tourist activities, definitely check out the street performers and musicians — Salzburg has a great local scene. There’s also a free film festival during certain times of the year, with views of the castle from the main square, plus theater shows. Don’t miss watching the sunset from one of the city’s bridges — it’s beautiful. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend staying more than two nights; you can easily see all the major sights in a day if you walk and use public transport. And a friendly reminder: please take care of the hostel’s common areas and be respectful of your roommates!
