We stayed at yök for my friend’s 30th birthday, and it was truly an amazing experience. I had stayed here once before, and coming back just confirmed that this is the best place to stay in Barcelona. Mari is an exceptional host — warm, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. She followed up before, during, and after our stay, and even prepared a birthday gift for my friend who turned 30. That gesture says everything about the kind of host she is. She doesn’t just run a place; she builds real connections. She feels more like a friend than a host. The apartment reflects the soul of yök: eco-friendly design, sustainability, and a real connection to the authentic culture of Barcelona. It’s located in a beautiful 19th-century building, and every detail feels intentional. This is not a typical hotel or rental — it’s a meaningful and responsible way to experience the city. If you stay at Yök, just know that you will be coming back again and again! I will definitely keep coming back. Highly recommended!!

The coolest apartment in Barcelona. Just returned from our yearly stay in Casa C. As ever Mari could not be more helpful and welcoming. The apartments are clean, light and well appointed. Bedding pristine and spotless on the spacious comfortable beds. Such a homely and comfortable place to come back to after a long day out exploring Barcelona, it’s almost a shame to have such a cool pad and yet hardly spend any time in it ! ;-) Andy

We enjoyed our stay overall. Quite welcoming the hosts and also the room is spacious and with comfortable beds and mattresses. Generally also quite clean and there is a beautiful terrace with a nice view to enjoy coffee or work.

We stayed five wonderful days in this lovely apartment. It is a charming space with lots of natural light and vintage architectural details like mosaic floors and stained glass. However it also had wonderful modern conveniences like an ensuite bathroom for each of its four rooms and keyless entry. The hosts were super attentive and provided recommendations for nearby restaurants and attractions. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The location is also excellent for exploring Barcelona—close to the old Gothic city and also the lively up and coming Born neighborhood. Highly recommend. Also great for UK and North American travellers. The hosts communicate fluently in English.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Casa B and were thoroughly impressed with the quality, location and service. The apartments have been very tastefully renovated and are equipped with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. Location is ideal, close to everything you'd want to see and Sandro our host could not have been more helpful with advice and guidance on making the most of our visit. Would absolutely return again!

A wonderful place to stay in Barcelone! I can only recommend it, for business trips, weekend trips, but also for any other occasion. The location is absolutely great, right in between two very interesting neighborhoods. Easily accessible from the airport, walking distance from the old town and most of Barcelona‘s sights. We were staying in Casa B. I liked the combination of historic, vintage, upcycled but also modern minimalistic style of the apartment. It was very clean and bright. The noise on the main street was sometimes a bit loud during the night, but we weren‘t bothered so much. A really great plus is the fresh, filtered drinking water we received everyday, delivered to our door. It is a professionally managed business, but in a very familial and personal way. There was always someone around for assistance or questions. The office on the top floor of the building was also worth a visit. We would definitely stay here again!

Way overpriced!! You pay 4-5 hotel prices and get a barebones airbnb experience. I would have given it 2 stars but decided to give an extra star to Sandro and Isabel, who really try to go above and beyond to compensate the acommodation shortcomings. So what's missing? Let's start with a proper closet, carpets, fully functioning AC, and sound proof windows. They don't offer any of that! So you have a half working "eco-friendly" AC (In Barcelona's sweltering heat, this was unacceptable), paper thin windows and with all the party noise and the fact that the 3 apartments they rent are so close to the street on the 3rd floor, we could never get a good night's sleep. The rooms are decent sized so its beyond me why we could not built proper closets. We just got a few hangers on a wall so the entire time, the apartment looked like a mess. Lastly, the building is super run down and dirty. One night, we even found marihuana joints on the lobby floor. To top it off, there is a student hostel operation in the floor above us, which Yok failed to disclose, so you get the nice student party noises all night long. We were puzzled since we had read such excelent reviews but we now wonder whether 5 star reviews were written by actual guests. Lesson learnt: at this budget we'll be checking into a proper hotel next time.

We felt at home, staying in a beautiful Barcelona apartment that combines history with modern amenities and eco friendly attitude. Mari and Sandro made us feel very welcome, giving us many tips about the city and caring for us during our stay.The location is also great, next to the old city centre but very close to bus stops, supermarkets etc that made it easy for us to organise our activities, especially travelling with two small children.

The location of Casa Yok is perfect and the flat beautiful ; The two owners had been very nice and pleasant at the first sight. Unfortunately the entrance door to the flat didn't work properly... Indeed the door opened from outside but once inside the door didn't open, the handle simply didn't work and we risked being stuck inside the flat. We noticed that straight away, at midday, had since contacted their on multiple occasions afternoon via phone and WhatsApp because the door hadn't been fixed. At the evening nothing had been done, they were deliberately not returning our calls and we risked being locked up in the flat so we had to put a wedge under the door ! this is cold in February , simply unprofessional and posed a threat to our safety and security. They finally contacted us after hours and hours and a very angry email in Facebook around eight o clock ; finally kindly proposed to switch with another free apartment, smaller but available ... For all this unpleasant situation and lost time during our stay in Casa Yok , the owner didn't suggest anything . When asked about financial compensation for all of the above , the owner refused. I forgot to mention that the flat was far from perfectly clean ... The owner didn't seem to care. All in all , the apartment is nice with good location but the owner is unprofessional and it's expensive for what it is . Disappointing !

I stayed at Yök after a long, mind-numbing week working away in Barcelona. And maybe places like Yök are the real luxury. Staying at Yök is like suddenly having a friend in Barcelona. The apartments are stunning. I have never seen any place that is so well thought through: Every single item, from the socket to the AC, from the bed to the shower head, was put there with highest expectations to design and sustainability. Everything is in new and great condition, something you rarely get in even five star hotels around the city. What's making Yök the place it is are the hosts however. Petz and Mari, a designer and a hotel expert, get in touch before your stay and essentially immediately you become acquainted. Their recommendations are, unlike most concierge's bland recommendations, worth every single visit and their knowledge of the city is immense. Staying at Yök allows you to feel home for a few days in a city which usually is so loud and busy it stresses you out. Yök helped me to relax and, for the first time, appreciate Barcelona. Best hotel/apartment so far, and I shall be back.

We spent one night in Yök and had such a hard time leaving this apartment. Why? The apartment is incredibly beautiful and well planned with an amazing eye for detail both when it comes to practical solutions and the interior design. The eco-renovation was beautifully made and the idea of a greener planet and sustainability runs through the space like a red thread. Apart from the actual space Mari and Petz were amazing host, both explaining their philosophy and giving us great Barcelona recommendations. Thank you guapas, we will definetly be back!
