Their tacos are absolutely phenomenal! I’m kicking myself for not trying sooner! I don’t see how anyone could make better tacos than these. I could have eaten 10 of them. Fresh ingredients and fantastic flavor combinations. The meats were incredibly tender. All the toppings and sauces really come together to create a unique flavor experience. Even though they stack the tacos high, which is a good policy, the tacos still taste light and bright thanks to their toppings and sauces. I’d recommend trying several on your first visit and Id highly recommended squeezing the lime over your tacos. The Habanero sauce was good too, but it’s optional and I would only add a little bit at a time. The fried chicken taco was my favorite, followed by their pork belly taco. For the latter, I’m not even a fan of kimchi, but it blended very well into the pico de gallo. I also tried their Taco Tuesday special “pork picadillo” and that was a solid one as well. I’ve now tried all of their tacos. If I had to rank them, they’d be: Fried Chicken, Pork Belly, Barbacoa or Daily Veg, Carnitas. All were very good and I would order them all again. I also tried the Squalsa, which was a very nice hot sauce. As good as the Habanero hot sauce, just different flavors.

Google
Not only was the taste incredible, there was so much meat on the tacos! We tried the pork belly, carnitas, and chicken tacos and each was a different experience. It was very affordable, especially considering the portions. The staff was very friendly. I like that they have multiple veg options. Thank you for flying a pride flag. We'll be back again and again.

One-liner: try the Pork Belly Tacos, expect a bit of a wait for your food, very calm/casual vibes with a variety of margaritas! Stumbled across this place after getting coffee/nails done. They have a blend of Korean/Mexican flavors. We came during a Saturday afternoon around 12pm for a quick lunch. What we got: Pork belly Tacos, Carnitas tacos, Pork Belly Tostada - Pork belly taco was the best flavor profile. Kimchi juice added in gives it a good kick - Pork Belly tostado was very bean-forward for me. Comes with a hot sauce that is a big PUNCH to it - caution! - Carnitas tacos had tender meat, but felt it lacked complexity - think they give free self-serve (?) chips, but that wasn't mentioned to us when we purchased and we saw someone else eating it while we were waiting. Feel like this should have been mentioned or given to us! Service was only 2 people at the time; very sweet, but a little slow (15-20min wait for food to come) for a casual sit-down restaurant

This place is fantastic! The staff is welcoming and helpful! I recommend it 10/10 for tacos! I had the Barbacoa and Carnitas tacos, and they were beautiful and delicious! They pack a lot of meat on the taco, bursting with flavor, and the corn tortillas are tasty and hold the packed taco really well. Two tacos filled me up. The ambiance is colorful, with beautiful art and murals.

Google
Great service and good tacos! 04-2024 Update: Really loved this place, but the last 5/6 times I've gone I've gotten far less quality of food. Pork belly that's all fat and gristle, burned carnitas pork, served cold etc.

Google
The carnitas were truly splendid. Loved the lemony water and the seasoned chips. The salsas were sadly not a slay :( and the pig ear tacos were not my fav either. Service was tremendous and location is cute. This was my last full meal before bottom surgery, and while I wish it was a little better, I can’t truly complain since I was being nourished. Much love and candor to you all xoxo

Google
Have been meaning to try Yoko Taco for a while now. We tried a variety of tacos. Pork Belly (the favorite), Carne Asada, Daily Veg, Carnitas (close second), and Fries Chicken. We also tried the chips and salsa which came with fresh chips and three types of salsa, fresh tomatillo, roasted tomatillo, and kimchi pico de gallo. Ordered a bowl of beans which were well flavored and came with a ring of more chips for dipping. We will definitely be going back.

Google
TL,DR: Space is cool, service was great, carnitas tacos and a chicken torta are the way to go! Upon arriving to Yoko Taco the space is small but I did love the set up and overall vibe of the place. It reminds me of small taco spots in Mexico but with more flare. We ordered the fried chicken, pork belly and carnitas tacos with a chicken torta. The torta was one of the highlights. It’s pretty backed in, chicken was flavorful and packed a crunch. The bread was mentioned to be locally made and it was an outstanding base for their tortas. Highly recommend trying one! Now to the tacos, the carnitas was my personal favorite. The combination they’ve created left me wanting more. The fried chicken was packed with chicken and the toppings selected for it were also a nice pairing. The pork belly, I can’t lie left me a little underwhelmed. Somehow the salsa ended up stealing the show. Salsa was delicious but the taco was not one I would reorder and instead I recommend going for the carnitas. The service was great! It wasn’t very busy so I do wonder how quick they could move to get orders out on a busy rush but overall it was a great experience with staff. My biggest gripe is price. Tacos ranged from $5-$6. The tacos we had did not fill me up and I guess here is where you make a decision of what’s worth it to you. The tacos are fused to make an original and different taco, it’s not the classic asada tacos you can get down the street. The experience and overall flavors you get are different than that of a traditional taco. If you’re open to the experience then by all means come in and try them out! If you’re looking for traditional cheap tacos… this may not be the place for you unless if you go in with an open mind!

Yelp
Yum! My boyfriend and I have been here a few times for Taco Tuesday and we really like it here. They have unique tacos that pack quite a lot of flavor. There is an Asian inspired flair to their tacos, which tastes really great and they do execute on that concept well. Taco Tuesdays are when they have some deals, and they post the deals on the chalkboard by the cash register. The deal often consists of a beer, mini margarita, veggie taco, and a meat taco. I usually like to mix and match my taco choices here-- I really like their daily special veggie tacos (yummiest/tastiest veggie tacos I've ever had) and the pork belly taco. If you order more than 2 tacos, though, the meal can get a little more costly, but I still like to come here due to the unique flavors.

Yelp
Rule #1: order the side of rice and beans mixed when going to YOKO Taco Rule #2: have someone order a burrito Yoko Taco is a fun and upbeat place to go in town. If you're looking for food packed with flavor this is the place to go. I love how there are two separate room for seating and cool murals on the wall. The staff is super friendly and to be honest their burrito is one of my favorite burritos in town!

Yelp
I stopped into Yoko today for lunch and I am really glad I did. I had the pork belly, fried chicken, and carnitas tacos. They were some of the best street tacos I have ever had. I also had a side of chips and rice/beans. All of the food was loaded with fresh, delicious ingredients. The food has tons of flavor and is really refreshing. The service was good here. They were very helpful while ordering. It was nice and clean in the establishment. They even have a little margarita bar inside. You can also order a beer. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Yoko Taco. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
OK, so the name of the place is a little bit weird and unexpected. But so is the delicious factor. I've been here three times and I'm ashamed to say that I keep getting the same thing but damn! It's good. The tacos with the kimchi are a solid recommendation. The service is a real straight shot which I love. No nonsense is always welcome. If it were less expensive I'd eat there every day. But the price is well worth the treat a couple of times a week.

Yelp
This place still has great quality food. One thing I did not like was their special dessert, Arroz con leche, which was not great at all; some of the rice was still hard.

Yelp
Burrito roulette. I came here with 2 friends and we all ordered burritos. Two of our orders were 100% incorrect. They weren't just reversed. I have an allergy to beans and my bean free burrito had beans in it. (I also got the incorrect protein). My vegan friend ordered the veggie burrito and was served one with meat. The flavors were great, but the mix up was heavily disappointing. There was plenty of casual seating which was convenient.... But I won't be back again.

Yelp
Fantastic tacos for not a lot -- especially on Taco Tuesdays. Highly recommend. Parking is a bit tricky during busy hours, but it's worth the walk if you have to park further away.

Yelp
Overall - I liked this place! The tacos were tasty; however, they are on the small side making them a tad expensive. I got a pork belly taco and a carnitas taco. Both were so good! I'm typically picky with my carnitas and this one was good. I'd try one of their tortas or burritos next time for a more filling meal. While we were leaving, a man pulled up with a truck loaded with squash, bell peppers, etc., he was delivering produce to them which was awesome to see. The guy behind the counter was super nice and the place overall has a good vibe to it! I would recommend for a quick bite in the area.

Yelp
Was able to order online and they are not even open. Wasted 17 dollars and my time. Super disappointed.

Yelp
Great tacos! Pork belly was the bomb and carnitas was good too. Fried chicken was decent but I'll try the others next time. I like that they are open till 9! Nice staff too!

Sawa F.

Yelp
I ordered Balbacua and vegies. Both were very good, especially vegies! I hope they double the tortilla beneath. I am glad I tried this place.

Yelp
So glad we finally made the time to try Yoko taco. We tried so much. The chips and salsa- 4.5 stars, but overall the rest of the meal is 5-stars. The chips were so good was the kimchi pico, but the other 2 salsas needed salt. We tried all but the veggie taco and they were all good. Extremely generous meat portions, delicious accompaniments, and uber fresh tortillas. My favorite was the special, carne asada. Thinking about the grill char flavor makes my mouth water. The carnitas were moist and had delightful crispy texture. The barbacoa had so much meat, so tender and saucy. The fried chicken was seasoned perfectly, and also moist. I liked the pork belly, didn't love. We were persuaded to try the cauliflower tostada, surprisingly delicious. They transform cauliflower into something unrecognizable. The last thing we had was the cucumber aguafresca. Yummy and refreshing.

Yelp
Got here after a long day at work, not in the best mood and was kindly greeted by Harry who helped take my order. He was patient and friendly as well. The whole restaurant has wonderful seating and a comfortable atmosphere! Arguably the best tacos i have ever had in Salt Lake City!
google avatar

Vincent N.

Yelp
Decent Asian fusion taco spot. They have taco Tuesday deals with $3 tacos and $2 beers. Ordered four tacos: Carne asada, Fried chicken, Pork Belly, and Crispy Pig ears. Each taco was topped with onions and cilantro. The carne asada topped with corn and the fried chicken is topped with pickled onions. My favorite was the pork belly, very tender. The pig ears was unique as well. Tastes like fried chicken skins. The fried chicken I thought was decent nothing special, the carne asada however was super salty and hard to eat.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night with a group of friends, it wasn't busy. The tacos are incredible, perfect balance. Loved the barbacoa specifically. A lot of our group ordered the burritos, big bang for your buck and delicious, the fried chicken was a hit. The drinks! Beer is well-priced and the bar options were creative, and tasty! The drink with tequila and Japanese whiskey was my favorite, margaritas taste great. Bartender did a good job and delivered drinks to our table. Food and drinks came out at choppy timing but I would say that's because you order at different cashiers. Overall would recommend.

Yelp
I'm always so excited to try a new spot in SLC! Located right on the corner of 300W and 800S, this is the perfect little spot to stop for lunch. They open at noon and had a full house by 12:15ish. The space is on the smaller side, but there was plenty of seating for the little lunch crowd. There were a few people getting takeout orders as well. There's two tables in the middle of the restaurant, and lots of bar seating by the windows. The interior artwork is beautiful! We ordered chips and salsa for the table, which came with three different salsa to try out and all of them were delicious. My personal favorite was the pico, but it also came with some delicious tomatillo salsa as well. I got the veggie tacos of the day and they were really yummy with lots of flavor. Because I'm a Diet Coke fiend, I got myself one of their cute little glass bottle Diet Cokes as well. After I left, I was kicking myself that I didn't get another taco - lesson learned for next time! The service was great, even during the busy hour. I never expect a fast casual restaurant to have staff walking around re-filling drinks, but one of the staff members came around a couple times to bus our tables as we finished and get us some refills. Excited that this place has opened up!

Yelp
I was just in the hood to find coffee and in passing the intersection I spied Yoko Taco. One Yelp review... I gotta check it out. Let's gooo! In Vegas there was a Korean Mexican fusion that was amazing so it would be very nice if this spot was amazing too. Intimate setting but the chow they are doling out to the public is ripe with delicious flavors, pallet friendly textures and so fresh! We have arrived at flavertown! Chips and salsa come with three beautiful fresh salsas... bright tomatillo, lightly spicy salsa that's green (sorry didn't get the name but it's very tasty) and a kimchi pico de gallo! The chips are hearty and will not break when dipped. I got two tacos. I always test a new spot by the carnitas taco and I added a Pork Belly taco too. These tacos are bomb! Just letting you know. First taco bite was the Pork Belly. Check out the photo! This bite was delicate and smooth. The Pork was so tender and had great flavor... they used the tomatillo salsa and it's perfectly wet and full flavored to pair with the pork belly and corn tortillas thumbs up! Next is the Carnitas taco! First bite was so very good. Good texture, again with the tomatillo salsa to brighten it up. This is a very good choice should you come here.

Yelp
Cleanliness: 5 Quality: 5 Service: 5 Taste: 4 Stopped in for a quick bite here out of curiosity on menu offerings as well as to check out the space. On the menu I found it to be limited with just a cauliflower taco option or fried chicken for anyone who is a vegetarian or with dietary restrictions on pork (much like myself) I went with chicken tacos and beans. The beans were flavorful but leaned more on the salty side. The chicken fried to perfection and the slaw served atop did well to balance out the flavors. Service here was superb as the staff walked me through the options and shared the inspiration behind this concept. This is a soft opening so I'm looking forward to see more of what this team creates as the business grows.

Yelp
A modern, casual, quick place with excellent food and cordisl service. We shared three lunch entries, anech was perfect with homemade salsa. Owned by the Yoko Ramenn owners--a favorite. Try both.
google avatar

Cheri L.

Yelp
Had to come try the unique pork belly taco and fried chicken taco. The pork belly was smaller but more rich in taste. The fried chicken taco had more filling and was super flavorful. Both were yummy and the meats were not dry at all. Service was very friendly and quick. They have taco Tuesday specials so keep that in mind for your Tuesday plans!
google avatar

Yelp
I liked parts of yoko. Their salsas were not great. Maybe it was me but the Pico was bland, the green salsa was bland, and the brown salsa was... bland. The pork belly taco was delicious and super crispy and the best part of the menu! The chicken taco was more lackluster. I will say these for vegetarians, the veggie taco was unique and filling! Skip the chips and salsa. Skip the chicken taco. Get the pork belly taco ×3.
google avatar

Robert G.

Yelp
Veggie Burrito was the best you would find anywhere. Try their Chilaquillas. For the price. You can't find that quality without paying $17-$20 dollars

Brady K.

Yelp
Fast service and great food. highly recommend. Get the fried chicken tacos Or really anything on the menu, you can't go wrong.

A S.

Yelp
Easily some of the best tacos I've ever had! Vibe in the place was a little weird but I'd eat there every day if I could.
google avatar

Deano G.

Yelp
Solid taco joint for sure. Great flavor and fresh for sure. I'm just a little shocked over 35 bucks for two tacos, a tostadas coke and a tortas. And 3.50 for a 6oz coke.... Come on now.
google avatar

Todd E.

Yelp
Four people working there and it took them 25 minutes to make two tacos and I was the only person there. Brought me the wrong order after 10 minutes then spent 5 minutes looking for my ticket instead of someone just making my food. They put my ticket back in and it was still a 10 minute wait. Like at least offer someone chips and salsa or a drink if you fuck up their order.

Scott C.

Yelp
Great chips, kimchi salsa, carnita tacos and service. I'd put more chocolate in the mole sauce if it were me. Kind of tasted like chili instead of mole. That's just my personal preference. Definitely a 5 star place. I'll be back.
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Got fried chicken and pork belly with chips and salsa. It was absolutely delicious. Husband got the sandwich thing and couldn't stop raving. We will be back.
google avatar

Raul M.

Yelp
Stopped by on a road trip to CO - the Fried Chicken tacos here are awesome - perfectly fried and cut in nice chunks - the taco was very flavorful with the right amount of heat - just wish I lived nearby
google avatar

Yelp
This place is solid, consistent, and the delicious! The front of the house (hey Goldie and Harry!) always offers superb customer service and while I mostly get takeout, they still get me a water cup and make sure I'm comfortable while I wait. The vibe in here is the best, and the food is even better! They're tostadas and a sandwiches are mouthwatering (try the pork belly tostada to have a party in your mouth), and they also have something for everyone! My husband is vegetarian and always feels satisfied and full from their vegetarian options. I have no pics to post because I always eat the food too quickly, but I'll update this post as soon as I make my weekly trek over to this gem of an establishment!
google avatar

Yelp
My son and I we're hungry and in the mood for something different. So we came here the price not bad but the size for each of the tacos was super small we could eat it in one bite . Really wasn't able to get a taste . When the employee brought us our food he didn't even say which one was which and just dropped the plate down like he was in a hurry and left . Crappy service especially for a first time visit.
google avatar

Chance M.

Yelp
Small corner shop with a decent selection of Mexican food. Freshly prepared, fair prices.

Yelp
Wow, I am so glad I stopped in here and finally had an opportunity to try Yoko Taco! I was blown away and hope this establishment never closes! The food and service was fantastic! We got an assortment of tacos and the tostada is phenomenal! Thank you for your wonderful food and I hope you thrive!

Ponti S.

Yelp
Their menu states which has vegan options and their beans are very tasty that I dipped my chips in them instead of the salsas that came with it. They also grill their burritos which makes them even better.
google avatar

Whitney P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick snack bite. I am coming back!!! Totally enjoyable taco. Make with care and higher quality ingredients, not your slap dash taco. Will have this place on my radar from now on.

Yelp
Oh man. Yoko Taco: yessssss. So good. Gorgeous, delicious, creative, fresh. Beers, specials, great service and food. Eat tacos, my friends, several times a week. Make YT part of your routine and you will be happy.

Mindy W.

Yelp
This one just hits different. Innovative, earthy, delicious takes on the taco--oyster mushrooms, fried chicken, pig's ear . . . Watermelon agua fresca (with sake) . . . apricot habanero salsa . . . But who knows what delights YR will offer when you arrive. Great people-watching corner. Five-minute walk from 900 South 200 South Trax stop (red line) & within shouting distance of Fisher Crewing. Get here

Yelp
The food was delicious. Fresh chips and salsa. The pork belly was tender and flavorful and fried chicken tasty was very delicious. Friendly and attentive service. Good vibes. I will definitely return.

Yelp
So so so good. Both Yoko taco and Yoko ramen use fresh ingredients and prepare them well. The vegan ramen is so yummy, comforting and nutritious. The cauliflower torta/tostada are phenomenal. They balance flavors well and have great chef staff! Highly recommend!!

Mike L.

Yelp
Had a bean burrito. Beans they used were great. Habanero sauce came with a warning from cashier. It was hot, very good but lighter spice people might want to go with green sauce. I enjoyed it. Cashier was great and the food i saw coming out to tables made me want to try other things. Clean and upbeat place.
google avatar

Denise D.

Yelp
A cute neighborhood type place. Today was my first time eating here but I'll be back. It was so flavorful and fresh with several veg and vegan option. Not you ordinary taco place; FAR BETTER!
google avatar

Chad G.

Yelp
Ordered a veg taco and the special chicken tinga burrito. The burrito is huge! Tons of food, great flavors, lots of spice but not overwhelming. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! Excellent service, very nice people!

Matt L.

Yelp
I've driven by this place about a dozen times and today I finally stopped in to grab a bite. It was absolutely well worth it! I was greeted by Sage when I walked in and I mentioned to him that I was a 1st timer. Sage said, "well thanks for choosing us and just know this will probably be one of your favorite spots...you'll be back". I ordered a pork belly burrito and a pork belly taco with a Modelo from Doug at the counter. The food had a very good flavor profile! I will try the other taco options next time. Both Doug and Sage asked how the food was which I appreciate. They do a lot right here from quality, fresh food and fantastic customer service. If you're thinking of stopping by and trying this place, do it with confidence. I just walked out and wanted to get this review in while it was fresh in my mind. Debating to go back and get another taco...
google avatar

T T.

Yelp
The fried chicken taco and chips and salsa were so tasty and fresh. The habanero salsa made everything even more delicious! Great job and good atmosphere. I will be back to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
Good, tiny tacos. Certainly more expensive than they should be, but good. Hilariously noisy when we went on Taco Tuesday. The price point is the main reason for 4/5.

JD M.

Yelp
Great tacos with original style! Self service. Chic and current. Definitely recommend the veggie taco.
google avatar

J. Janell C.

Yelp
The black bean tostada was killer! So good, and several other great vegetarian options were available.

Chandler R.

Yelp
Best spot in slc right now!! Creative yet straightforward menu. Rotating specials made from scratch with locally sourced ingredients. Amazing veg options, taking beans to the next level!!! I literally come 3x/week.
