Yokohama Stadium is a solid stadium experience — not ultra-flashy, but genuine. If you love baseball, being among local fans, that distinct Japanese baseball culture (chants, food, energy), this is a very worthwhile place to go. Even if you’re not a huge baseball fan, it makes for a fun, immersive outing, especially given the setting in Yokohama, which has more to offer around the stadium.

First Japanese Baseball Experience 🇯🇵⚾️🔥 Random Friday night. No plans. Then I get a message from my boy Matt y’all remember Matt, right? We used to work together back in the day (2016–2018) at the Staff Academy on Camp Pendleton. He hits me up like: “Baseball?” Me: “Say less. Let’s do it.” So boom, we pull up to Yokohama Stadium for my first-ever Japanese baseball game and let me tell you… Japan loves baseball the way America loves football. This wasn’t just a game it was an experience. Before the game, I did a little homework on the Yokohama BayStars — turns out they were Japan Series Champions last year… and I had no idea 😳 Then I come to find out Andre Jackson is on their squad now yep, that Andre Jackson. Drafted by the Dodgers in 2021, bounced around MLB, and now holding it down in NPB. Full circle moment seeing him pitch live after following his story from afar. The vibe in the stadium? Electric. Family-friendly, food everywhere, coordinated chants, beer girls moving like clockwork and that energy doesn’t stop. We dipped around the bottom of the 7th, thinking we were beating the crowd back to the coast of course, like all true fans know, all the fireworks popped off right after we left 😂 Turns out Tyler Austin knocked another dinger back-to-back nights with a home run and the BayStars won again. All I know is… I’m definitely coming back. It’s close to the house, it’s clean, it’s fun, and it’s a vibe for the whole fam. 📍 Yokohama Stadium 🧢 BayStars Nation ⚾️ Andre Jackson & Tyler Austin = 🔥 🇯🇵 Japanese Baseball Culture = unmatched

This is a fantastic stadium that you can easily walk to from most hotels in Yokohama. Buying tickets on the day was simple and then entering the stadium and finding your seats was all straightforward. There was a really good atmosphere inside and overall it was a great way to spend an afternoon.

You cannot fault this place, easy to walk to or get the train to the nearby stations. The staff are super helpful and always seem happy. On game day, plenty of signs to know where to go to reach your seat. Lots of beer and food options. Smoking areas available outside the gate.

Great stadium, very close to the station, with a nice park next to it. Even for a sold out game,if you show up early and get the 1,000 yen tickets for standing only, outside of the seats, it still is a good experience. I went to my 3rd NPB game here, the others to see the Carp at Mazda stadium and the Fighters at Es Con. What stood out to me about the Baystars is how much they have going on outside of the stadium before the game. Tons of food trucks, an extra merch area, and a stage show.

One of the best experiences living in Kanagawa. Been to two games. Sit in fam section in the outfield and learn the chants. Night games are a must, especially during summers in Japan.

When you bought tickets 2 months before to see the match and you arrive at the stadium with a lot of enthusiasm but....... in front of you there is the only man in Japan wearing a Mexican hat. Whoever you are, thank you so much and I hope the match was great :)

Yelp
The energy here was remarkable! Everyone was ready to cheer! It was either a sold out or nearly sold out game. I visited the stadium a day before the game I wanted to see to buy a ticket and luckily was able to (almost sold out!). このスタジアムですごいテンションがあった!みんな応援した! If you're looking to purchase merchandise, I'd recommend visiting the stadium store during an off time. Otherwise, you're going to be dealing with massive crowds. The stadium is conveniently across the street from the JR Line and a block or two away from the Minatomirai Line. Lastly, this stadium is not a dome so your experience will be impacted by the weather. Overall, I really enjoyed the game! 見たゲームは楽しかったです!

Yelp
Nice stadium! Not a dome, and it happened to rain when we went, so our baseball game was cancelled during the third inning unfortunately. I can confirm that the stadium/team gave us a refund for the cancelled game, per their policy, in case you were wondering :) The city of Yokohama is known for their Chinatown so they sell Gyoza to enjoy during the game. I love their craft beer branding on the plastic cups, which was the only reason I had beer for the first time in over a decade. We would definitely like to come back for another Yokohama DeNA Baystars game in the future since we missed out this time. I can't wait for the excitement of cheering and enjoying Gyoza and beer!

Yelp
Under construction right now. I can't wait to see the renovated one. The view is not good at all now. Location: Walking distance from stations.

Yelp
I was very fortunate to catch a Yokohama Baystars game before the end of the season. Arrived via JR Line at Ishikawacho station. About a 5 min walk to the stadium. Ate lunch in Chinatown before the game. The Stadium- Very clean. Looks like it seats 25,000-30,000. From our seats we had a nice view of the city and a really tall Ferris wheel. The game watching experience: excellent! Really enjoyed the game. The Baystars have some hitters on their team. The player cheers/chants sang by their fans. Great views of the field. The balloons being launched. Chu-Hi and Beer sold at the seats (by cute ladies) so I can enjoy the game and not waste time standing in line. I also like that fans respect their stadium and clean their seating areas before they leave. That is something I wish was the standard in the US. I look forward to watching at least 1 game a month next season. Side note: got to meet and take a pic with Mashi Murikami, 1st Japanese player ever to play for a Major League team(San Francisco Giants).

Yelp
I visited the stadium in November after their season was over but they keep it open for the neighborhood. During my week stay in Yokohama, I used the stadium as my base for running and also my north star to locate where I was or needed to go on a map. It's a nicely decorated stadium and feels smaller than it looks from the outside so I imagine the games to feel closer to the field for patrons. If you do visit Yokohama and do venture without a guide and speak little to no japanese, having this place as a reference is helpful in their friendly safe neighborhood.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Japan. There is no other experience like a Japanese professional baseball game. The Yokohama BayStars call this stadium home and their fans are very passionate about the game. The stand the entire time their team is up to bat chanting and singing a different song for each player. The have a band, cheerleaders, multiple mascots and many activities to keep the fans involved through out the game. To top it off, there are women with kegs of beer or chu hi on their backs delivering beverages to you at your seat! Once you see what you like, with a wave of your hand the server will run up the stairs and pour you an ice cold drink. After every BayStars win, they interview the "hero's" os the game and light off a fireworks display. Tickets range from around 15$ for standing room in the outfield to around 100$ for box seats. What ever you choose, you will not be disappointed.
