Avoid Yokohama Station guest service office, it's always long queue and is super super slow moving. Otherwise is an incredibly busy hub, connecting you to so much of the city and beyond! For families, it's super convenient with plenty of shops and eateries right inside and connected. While the station itself is a transport nexus, it's your gateway to fantastic family-friendly spots like the Cup Noodles Museum, Anpanman Children's Museum, or even the Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery nearby for car enthusiasts. It's bustling, but efficient for getting around with little ones!

Review of Yokohama Station Yokohama Station might seem overwhelming at first glance, but as a tourist, I found it surprisingly easy to navigate—thanks to Google Maps. Seriously, if you’re not sure where to go, just plug in your destination, and it’ll guide you step-by-step, from the platform you need to which exit to take. The ticket machines are a lifesaver, too. There’s an option to switch them to English, which makes buying tickets way less stressful. Everything is straightforward, and even if you mess up or get confused, the staff are super helpful. I had to ask for directions once, and they were patient and clear about which train I needed to take. The trains themselves are clean and feel really well-maintained. I loved how punctual everything was—like, to the minute. It makes planning your day so much easier when you know exactly when your train will show up. Plus, even during busier times, it didn’t feel chaotic or uncomfortable. The whole experience was smooth and surprisingly comfortable, even for someone new to Japan’s train system. If you’re visiting Yokohama, don’t stress about getting around. Yokohama Station might look like a maze at first, but with a little help from Google Maps and the friendly staff, it’s totally manageable—and actually kind of fun!

Huge station with underground malls, shops, all sorts of passageways, etc, that could be confusing for first-time visitors. Good for shopping on a rainy day, though. Or for souvenir hunting.

It's a bit tough to navigate if you are here for the first time and want to kill some time or grab something to eat in the nearby malls. It just lacks proper signage which is essential in places that don't allow for GPS navigation using maps. If you are just transferring between trains finding the right platform is a breeze. The only signage that could use some more prominent display are the Narita Airport NE'X train ones. Once you find the right entrance route is easy to follow. Just head to platform 10 and wait for a huge train to arrive. NE'X trains really stand out and it's impossible to miss one when you see it!

It was my first time visiting Yokohama Station, and I was amazed at how huge it is! The size and number of shops inside were overwhelming—in a good way. You could easily spend hours here exploring.

This station is clean and convenient to use for transportation by train, subway, or bus. It also has a mall nearby for shopping and eating.

Yokohama Station is absolutely huge. Numerous train and subway lines converge here but not quite all at the same point. Be sure to have a very clear meeting place designated (in advance!) if you plan to find someone here. Many of the train lines have exits that place you in far different places. Fortunately, the signage (Japanese, English, and to a lesser extent Chinese and Korean) is pretty good. There's also an information booth for tourists (to Yokohama, not just to the station) on the main concourse. As Yokohama's central train station, there're tons and tons of shopping and dining options in the area--to the extent that the options might be overwhelming. Have fun!

There is a great information center. And also it's connected with some department stores and basement shopping areas. Even when it rains, you can enjoy shopping here.

Can go many places from Yokohama station. Plus has good shopping and eateries. Try the new Isetan Market and Foodcourt. Yokohama Isetan used to be a Department store but changed to food only.

Yokohama station is pretty big. This station doesn't serve the Shinkansen (which is Shin-Yokohama station) JR lines are here, but the Keikyu lines and local subway lines such as Blue line as well. This is also the station that is closest to Haneda airport. ---------------------------------- This is a very busy station and can be confusing. The exits can be confusing and can often lead you to a shopping area (East exit). I've had difficulty meeting many friends here, so the easiest way spot I was told was East exit, Police box, which is right where the buses and Animate is located.
