The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful! Our server was great! It was a perfect place for brunch with indoor and outdoor seating available. The speciality coffees were unimpressive tastewise but we appreciated they didn't come overly sweetened.

Had a really nice breakfast at Yolk! The prices were fair and the portions were big — perfect for a relaxed morning meal. Everything was fresh and tasty, and I especially loved the horchata drink — super smooth and flavorful! Great spot for a cozy breakfast or brunch. Definitely coming back!

Had a great breakfast this morning at Yolk in downtown Chicago. I came with my wife, and we both left impressed. I ordered the corned beef hash, and they had the steak and eggs—both dishes came with pancakes, which were light, fluffy, and a nice bonus. Everything was cooked well and full of flavor. Our server, James, was friendly, attentive, and kept the coffee topped off without even having to ask. Only small critique was that the hash browns were a bit on the dry side, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming, and the service made the meal even better. Definitely a solid spot for breakfast in the city.

This is our second time visiting! We love it! Great fun coffees and yummy breakfast options! We will be back!

We started our morning with a zesty strawberry lemonade and a smooth iced latte—both so refreshing! I savored the perfectly poached Eggs Benedict, while my son happily devoured his favorite scrambled eggs with bacon, paired with creamy, cheesy grits that were pure comfort food. The menu is overflowing with tempting choices, but we were way too full to try more—though that’s just an excuse to come back soon! Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and satisfying, making it a spot we’ll return to again and again for cozy, indulgent breakfasts.

We were greeted and seated immediately by our server when we arrived. Service was great. Food was good but nothing unique per se. Would recommend nonetheless!

The food is good the eggs are very big and the pancakes are delightful. The iced tea was also good with a nice lemony flavour. Nothing fancy nothing amazing. I would recommend this place.

I got to know Yolk as a recommendation by a local which is always a big advantage. Walking in to the restaurant you are always welcomed by the staff. Even the manager will make sure you are taken care of at all times. I mostly go with 5 egg omelettes, extra bacon and an espresso drink. The portions are virtually shared size!(but I DO NOT share food) They do have solid brunch options and freshly squeezed juices. The place, even though a tad outdated, is very clean and well managed. I would love to see it open later in the evening as I could have breakfast food all day every day. But yeah, it is a breakfast/brunch place and it operates as such.

Yolk in the Streeterville area of downtown Chicago sits at the corner of McClurg and Grand, and is a tasty spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The space isn't the largest, but it is bright, well equipped and easy to navigate. Service was stellar from entry to exit with our server being absolutely delightful. The dining room appeared clean, but the space in full from the floor to the ceilings and seating need some TLC, as conditionally its seen better days. Foodwise, we opted for waters, even though they had a good variety of breakfast and coffee drinks. We went with the create your own scramble along with pancakes and sausage links. The food was good, nothing phenomenal, but it hit the spot and came out fairly quickly. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Yolk and will certainly be back!

I'm originally from Chicago and when I'm in town visiting family, this is a place that we like to visit. I've been to both this location and the one in the South Loop. I like this location because they have outdoor seating. Unfortunately for this visit, it was January 2025 and way too cold to sit outside. It was New Year's Day and it was packed. Fortunately, we got on their electronic waitlist as soon as we got in the car on our way to the restaurant (20 minute drive) so our wait wasn't that great once we got there. They sat us at a table in this really overcrowded area which made our dining and those around us, not comfortable (there were 4 of us). I ordered the "Avalon Sunset" handheld (pics attached). This sandwich included a grilled chicken breast, bacon, tomato, Swiss and smashed avocado on grilled sourdough bread for $20. Nothing stellar, but I liked it. The service is what you'd expect in an overly crowded restaurant - mediocre. All in all, this can be a good experience if you come during the warmer months and sit outside. BTW, the outdoor seating is covered. Also, don't forget to join the electronic waitlist.

We arrived to Chicago after an overnight Amtrak trip and finding breakfast was our first stop. After reading a ton of reviews we settled on Yolk. There was no wait as we opted for a smaller table (staff did let us know ahead of time). The place was crowded but not uncomfortable. Our waiter greeted us warmly and was very welcoming and attentive throughout the experience. I will say we were both underwhelmed with our orders. For a business named after eggs we expected more from our omelettes. The omelettes were very large and full of different fillings, but it was almost too much in a way. The egg itself was flavorless and definitely not the star of the show. As humorous as it sounds, the toast and jam were my favorite part of this meal. We probably won't be back, but overall it was not an unenjoyable experience.

While in Chicago and looking for a delicious , diner breakfast with a twist... you must visit Yolk located in the heart of Downtown. Staff were very welcoming and attentive and vibe was very chill. Sat at the bar and enjoyed an amazing breakfast. What a start to my day.

I arrived around 12:05pm on a Tuesday afternoon (NYE) to get food with my son. I joined the YELP waitlist around 7-8 minutes before arriving during my 12 minute walk here from my hotel. It was perfect timing as less than a minute after we arrived, they were calling my name to be seated. Shortly after being seated, a staff member brought over glasses and a pitcher of water. It was VERY busy! About a minute later, our waiter came over. He didn't say his name, which is a personal pet peeve. Per receipt, his name was Martin. I would've liked more hospitality as far as asking if we've been there before and giving some highlights. Conversation and information was minimal, unless asked directly. We placed our order at 12:17pm. I got the Yolk all star combo with lemon blueberry pancakes ($3 up-charge) and egg whites. I wanted to substitute one of my meats for potatoes but was told substitutions weren't allowed. My son got the kids Oreo pancakes and apple juice. The kids specialty pancakes doesn't come with sides. The food came at 12:34pm. My son's pancakes and my pancakes were huge! One piece of my bacon was crisper than the other, which I didn't like. I prefer crispy bacon and thought it was odd that the consistency didn't match. The sausages were thick and tasty. The eggs whites tasty normal but needed salt and pepper, which I added myself. I highly enjoyed my pancakes and my son really enjoyed his as well. Overall, it was a good experience and I definitely would return. I recommend joining the waitlist because the waiting area is small causing a little chaos especially when tables are ready. There is a bus stop right outside, if taking public transportation.

Our server Daniel was so kind and on top of everything. Really enjoyed his hospitality! Food was okay, a little overpriced but definitely big portions to back it up. It gives classic breakfast restaurant vibes. I got the protein combo and it was good, grits needed a little seasoning but easy fix. I got the cinnamon French toast upgrade and it was stale but Daniel took care of that asap. Thanks for breakfast y'all!

Sadly, the only picture I took was of my tea. We were a little hungry and polished off for most of our food in no time. Our server Martin was great! The service was quick even though they were crowded. My husband had the omelette, which is huge! Ended up taking half of it home. I had the scrambled eggs with onion, bacon, and potatoes. To top it off the gluten-free toast, which is so good you would never know it was gluten-free. We both enjoyed our meals. Although the prices are a bit high, it's probably in line with most of our Chicago restaurants. Fortunately, we had a coupon book and one of our meals was free. Continues to be a neighborhood favorite and when the weather is nice, it is great to sit outdoors.

Walked in around 11am on a Friday morning. The person that seated us was very delightful; asking how our Christmas went, etc. Our server and busboy were just as nice. I heard a lot of thank yous between the workers behind the counter as well so kudos to the manager for bringing an atmosphere of kindness. My husband ordered a French toast with added strawberries and a side of cheesy grits. My child had the kids French toast and I had a Supreme Grilled Cheese. Everything tasted great which was evident, considering ALL our plates were empty and cleaned off. I also enjoyed the White Peppermint Mocha Latte that came in a hefty sized mug.

It's Yolk. It's like every other Yolk. Service is quick and prices are more Midwest than Chicago so that's a win. It's a chain and delivers a consistent experience and that can be all you need for breakfast.

I came for the banana nut bread French toast. I was sat right away even though it seemed really busy. I was very happy. The French toast also comes with a side of peanut butter and syrup. This was my everything. 4 pieces of bread with bananas in every bite. It's really banana bread and not just bread with bananas. You can't really spear it with your fork, you need to scoop. It was noisy like all breakfast places when they're busy. But service was great and i got in and out quickly and full.

This was a 5-star experience. The Yolk Team got my party seated very quickly for a Sunday mid-morning. Tried the egg and protein combo today and it was a hit. Filling and a great price for it all. Louder atmosphere but my group was still able to hold a conversation.

The vibe in here is nice and bright. Everything we ordered was delicious except for my kids pancake. It had a very dry cakey texture. Out server was very attentive right when we walked in but after we got our food and asked as she was serving our dishes on how it was and never checked back again. I wasn't able to tell her about the pancakes until we got our bill. Overall I would definitely go back but won't be ordering the pancakes.

My husband got takeout from here today for me and him as I was nap trapped by our son and it was close! Plus we had a bogo entree coupon! I ordered a skillet with feta, avocado, caramelized onion, and spinach with an English muffin, no eggs! My husband got eggs with French toast. Pickup was quick and easy. Downside was it is insanely expensive, we got 2 meals no drinks and even with our coupon it was $30, would've been $60 without it. But it tasted pretty good and the avocado was SUPER fresh which is a big green flag for me. Would come back during another visit!

Another place that were told to try! Food is good, I would give them 4/5. It's easy to make a reservation through Yelp but you have to show up for them to check you in so you're actually in line! We had few dishes. I had their egg Benedict caprese, I expected it to be good but it was super runny I would give it 3/5 My husband and friends loved california omelet! Countryside skillet. We also had very berry and Nutella crape. Overall I would give them 4/5. Regular coffee was good, service was fast. I have had better breakfast places though but this get 4/5 overall Check in on Yelp for 10% off total bill

There was a slight wait when I arrived today but I got sat pretty quickly. I ordered the chicken or the egg sandwich with potatoes. I wish the that they had put less sauce on the chicken sandwich it made it kind of messy to eat and I had to scrap off some of it to enjoy. The potatoes I were kind of crunchy like it could have been cooked for another minute or 2. The Santa Fe Frittata came with a lot less of food and the pancakes were the best part of that meal in my opinion.

Nutella creps were so delicious! But very berry was average! They are always busy and you have to book a head of time.

Yolk offers a vast array of breakfast options! I decided to get the cheesy egg sandwich on an everything bagel. The bagel was not a good consistency, but the sandwich contents were delicious! I had a side of cheese grits that were great! My friend had a fried chicken sandwich that she enjoyed! We split a Nutella crepe. The service was great! They kept the coffees full! The meal was very enjoyable, and I would come back again.

It is soooo hard to mess up breakfast and I knew Yolk wouldnt! The reviews were great so, thats why I went. Yolk is located in Downtown Chicago and stays busy. I was seated immediately and looked over the menu. I ordered the strawberry orange juice. So fresh, so clean, so good. For my breakfast, I ordered the CORNED BEEF HASH & EGGS-House made corned beef, seasoned potatoes, green pepper and onion, fried eggs hard with pancakes. $19, it was a little salty but it wassssssss very good. I will come back thanks Yolk! I will be back. Pics to follow.

Back again. Another good experience. Baileigh was our server. She was nice and attentive. My portion was just right. I've learned, don't eat a large breakfast in Chicago. That way, you can have space later in the day for lunch and dinner.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. We had 5 people in our party, so figured we would have to wait. We arrived around 930am and got super lucky because there was a table available! We were sat quickly and our server Charles A came over and grabbed beverage orders right away. They have some pretty interesting coffee / lattes. Someone with us got an Oreo latte and it looked amazing. We all ordered and food was quick. Everything tasted amazing, and our service was great! Definitely a place to check out for breakfast / brunch

Huge portions. Reasonable prices. Good service. The ambiance is a typical breakfast cafe in a busy part of downtown chicago. The food overall was good. The salmon avocado toast is a bit messy to eat and needs more actual avocado. It gives more of a lox and bagel type taste. The only bad was that the orange juice was super tiny for $4.

The food was fresh and flavorful, with generous portions and great presentation. The service was fast, friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I'd visit again for a delicious start to the day!

Yolk was a nice little walk from the Hyatt Regency Chicago. It is very popular and you will always encounter a queue upon arriving. If you are a group of one or two it probably won't take that long but otherwise you can join the yelp waitlist before you get to the restaurant. It will help to avoid you having to wait with a bunch of people at the front entrance of the restaurant which gets crammed with people. Their menu has lots of breakfast items to choose from unique pancake creations to fun caffe drink concoctions.The server was very nice and it did take some time to get all my food but they get pretty busy. The food was delicious and SUPER filling. I got a madame croque and a single pancake and I was struggling to finish it all. The sandwich came with cheese grits which sadly had no flavor but other than that everything was yummy. My madame croque was definitely my favorite thing I ate there. The price was right too for all that I got. I was fighting for my life to finish everything so I got a green tea which helped me get most of my food down. I have a small stomach so it is a struggle every time I go out and eat because I want to order everything but I immediately start getting full.

A fun place to go at least once! Great portion size and good variety of food options made from an Egg! The place was cute and was pretty busy I must say. Wait time is around 30 mins min on weekends (unless you pre-book). The Buffalo Chicken Wrap Sandwich was very tasty. I was a bit disappointed with Benedict Caprese because the Hollandaise sauce was quite less and there was very little pesto and mozzarella. The whole point why I ordered this instead of the simple Eggs Benedict. Nevertheless, Cheesy Egg Sandwich was good too.

We visited this location of Yolk our first day in Chicago, and ended up returning two more times before heading home! This location is a busy place, but the service was outstanding, friendly, and accurate. We loved every plate of food we were served. The portions are generous and fresh. I wish Yolk had a location near my home!

Avocado Toast HIGH on tomatoes LOW on Salmon ! Chicken or Egg recommended otherwise service was average when we asked where was the grilled Salmon?

Worst food ever! The server was lovely and everything came out quickly. Almost too quickly as if it had been precooked and was just being heated up. No flavor and a stomach ache long after. Not of quality, would not recommend. We had the avocado toast and yolk all star breakfast meals.

Going to preface this review by stating that my friends and I are from the east coast and we may be spoiled with how good the food is on the east coast. Food: Food was ...not great. - Countryside skillet had plastic tasting potatoes, bad cubes of sausage, and the gravy was ok. The pancakes tasted like baking soda and were dry. - My friend hated her West Coast Crepes and could not even get past a few bites. - Cinnamon French toast was very dry. - Breakfast Burrito w no eggs was basically a small black bean wrap. No complaints other than how small it was. Not too vegetarians friendly :( - Cupcake and Oreo Lattes were yummy! - Matcha Latte was very watered down but the server brought more matcha to concentrate the drinks for those who ordered it, which was very nice. Service: Our server was very sweet and food came out at a decent time. She checked up on us and bringing more matcha to concentrate the drinks was very nice. Ambiance: Very casual dining setting. We were a group of 7 and came on a Saturday afternoon at 12pm and were seated pretty quickly. TLDR: bad food, good service and casual ambiance.

Honestly disappointed. The service was ridiculous. We reserved ahead of time and still had to wait because you couldn't get to the front counter and when we did they were extremely rude. Our waiter was obnoxious and ignored us once our food came. We'd have loved more drinks and to-go boxes. The restaurant was unbelievably hot. Miserable hot. Our food (breakfast burritos and omelets) were ok but nothing special. Definitely better options downtown.

Based on my visit to the Yolk Streeterville location, I felt that whatever I ordered was pretty mediocre. The pistachio latte looked a little sad (no latte art), and there wasn't a distinct pistachio flavor. The coffee in it could've been a tad bit stronger too. I ordered the west coast crepes, which had a beautiful presentation. However, I wasn't rly a fan of the taste. The crepes were a bit too sweet for my taste, and I thought that the mashed veggie mixture inside them was pretty bland. Even after using the hot sauce with my food, I felt a lack of flavor. The waiter was very nice though, and his service was great! The restaurant's ambiance is more of an old fashioned and simplistic vibe, and it seemed like most of the seating consisted of wooden chairs and tables.

This was our 2nd choice to try and we weren't impressed. The food came out luke warm. When buttering the pancakes, they didn't melt. Grits were unseasoned, and the chili was bland. The fried chicken with the waffle had a good flavor. The strawberry orange juice was a fun twist and tasted great. The service was questionable. He rushed around, spoke very fast, but friendly and kept forgetting things. Our child liked their blueberry pancakes and we liked the regular pancakes.

The food here wasn't bad at all I actually really liked the avalon sandwich. My one thing I didn't like about it was the bottom of the bread got a bit soggy because of the tomato. Other than that it was pretty yummy. What we didn't like was the drinks. Our coffee drinks sounded good but they didn't really deliver on taste. The service was good. Our waitress was pretty nice and our food and drinks came out quick. The vibes here was okay. Its the vibe of a typical brunch place. I do like how vibrant it was though. I think I might come back here and try something sweet next time around :).

Food was pretty good. They have a lot of options to choose from and give you a variety of combinations. Their thing is eggs (hence the name yolk) and breakfast. I got a combo platter which was decent. I also got a specialty coffee (oat milk horchata cold brew) which was underwhelming and I had to add flavored creamers to it. I would come back if I was craving some breakfast food. Their service is really friendly and helpful! Shout out to Ariana - thank you girl!! The vibes are super casual and there is a lot of seating inside

Amazing service!! Amazing HOT food! We sat at the counter and to see the teamwork the hustle is was soooo busy and they did not miss a beat. Service was great and the food was excellent.

My 2 best friends and I arrived to Chicago wednesday afternoon from Colorado. We were exited to explore the city! My friends and I love eating out and we were very happy to try all the places around our hotel. After a walk we decided to get some coffee at starbucks and we asked a few employees there for some recommendations on breakfast places and the main one was Yolk! Thursday morning my friends and I decided to go give it a try, everything was amazing from food, service and ambiance. We were amaze with everything. The next morning one of my friends said '' how about we go to Yolk again I loved it'' and we sure did. So Friday morning woke up early got ready and we headed out to Yolk, they seem pretty busy but from what we notice it seemed busy because our server mention they had a small party. Which I mean I was like wow people really love this place. We were super exited and once again food and service was great! But we were really disappointed at some stuff that my friends and I saw and that made us really upset not wanting to come back the next day!! It seem like the guy in charge of the restaurant manager or owner not sure he was a really rude guy. He seem really nice when we arrived but the way he was treating his employees was horrible. My friends and I were seating in front and we were able to watch and hear everything that was happening. The manager or owner not sure like I said was screaming at the employees horribly. The three servers that we saw there seemed to be annoyed by him you could tell by their faces but I don't blame them he kept yelling at them while us and other customers were able to hear him. He kept screaming at the poor old man (busser I think) to go seat people. I think he was overwhelmed with the party they had. To give you a description if this guy he is bald kind of tall. I felt really sorry for those poor employees, they shouldn't get treated that way. Specially if you have customers you should not me screaming where we can hear you while we eat. Very very disrespectful!! If he is the manager what a shame!!! Or if he is the owner than I have no words. The company needs to have a better person that can really take care of bussiness becuase if that's how you treat your employees its insane. That friday was just uncomfortable to eat while we saw all the Chaos that this guy made. Horrible Horrible experience!!!

The Yolk was near the hotel and turned out to be a great spot for breakfast. The restaurant is bright and vibrant which is a nice atmosphere for a hangover. The food and service were excellent. The menu has a great variety of options to meet pretty much any breakfast needs. Definitely recommend and will be back for more.

Decent breakfast spot, came here during a recent work trip. Quite an exhaustive menu and so many options to choose from. Staff was very attentive and service was very good. The reason for 3 stars, food was just average, though decent portion sizes but not the most flavorful grits and omelette.

For breakfast in the big city, this is perfect. Bayleigh took care of us at the bar, and guided us to her favorites, and nothing disappointed. Make sure you head towards Navy Pier, and go make sure to see Bayleigh at Yolk!

Here's another breakfast spot we checked out, we came in & were seated right away. Drinks I had the Iced Tea, not bad Hubby had Coffee both decent. I had the Chicken or the Egg sandwich , it was very good nice hefty sandwich I got it w seasoned potatoes it was was very good. Hubby got the Scramble eggs, biscuit & grits also very good, grits was ok didn't have much flavor. Nice location, service was good & prices are reasonable we enjoyed our breakfast.

Good place for a big and early breakfast with amazing gluten-free bread. I was so glad this place opens early on Saturdays (7am). I needed to eat somewhere before an early morning meeting. They have lots of seating with mixed generational pop playing (I heard 80s and 2020s playing). The staff is also friendly and will keep checking on you to see how things are. Here's what I ordered: Cortado - a classic. They have raw sugar on the table if you need it sweetened. Build Your Own Skillet: Canadian bacon, red pepper, mushroom, jalapeños, avocado with gluten-free toast - this was a huge portion! I feel like I could only eat about half the potatoes in it. The Canadian bacon is a $1.50 charge, not $1 like the other meats. The gluten-free toast was only $1.50 more, which is a steal because not only is the bread great(! Who are they sourcing from??) but you get 2 slices. I took one with me because this was really so much food. Next time: with such great GF bread, I'd be curious to try a sandwich with it!
