Yonaha Beach

I think this is the best beach in this island! Often hailed as one of Japan’s most beautiful beaches, it boasts over 7 kilometers of powdery white sand and turquoise waters, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. We did 2 days here because it was amazing! Can spot also many fishes!

There is only 8 places in this world which have this kind of pristine-torquoise waters: the Bahamas, Maldives, Palawan (the Philippines), Bora Bora, Zanzibar, Whitsundays Island (Australia), Turk and Caicos and, of course, Miyako-jima, Japan. And it is exactly Yonaha Maehama Beach that has this surreal waters. So beautiful. You can literally walk 100 meters into the middle of the sea and water level is still only at your ankle. Combining with the bridge on the left side, it really makes Yonaha Maehama Beach a true paradise on earth. And among the 8 places that offer pristine turquoise water, I dare to say that Miyako-jima and Yonaha Maehama in particular is the most peaceful and accessible one, as there are direct flights from big Japanese cities and the Airbus A321/Boeing 737 can easily land in the Miyako airport.

It is a beautiful beach with amazing sand and even a bathroom. Additionally there are many services that offer banana boats and jet skis. I would recommend visiting here eapecially barefoot.

Beautiful wide beach with very fine sand and astonishing water colors! The are also plenty of fish swimming around you as well!

Truly one of the most beautiful beaches in Okinawa. Powdery white sand. Stunning stretch of coastline where you can easily find your own little paradise. The ocean here is a mesmerizing shade of aqua perfect for swimming or simply soaking in the view. Bonus: free parking, showers, and restroom.

This beach is absolutely stunning — crystal-clear turquoise water, powdery white sand, and peaceful surroundings. Whether you’re swimming, relaxing, or just taking in the view, the vibe is pure serenity. The contrast of the vibrant sea against the lush green island in the distance makes it feel like a postcard come to life. Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever visited!

Beautiful white sand beach, with a lot of space and turquoise sea water. Definitely a good spot pour the sunset. Probably the best beach in Miyakojima if your goal is to lay down and get your skin tanned a little.

After touring around all the beaches on Miyakojima and nearby islands, Yonaha is the best beach for suntanning for me. It is easy to access and has free parking. There are sun beds renting services available, there is a cafe on the beach and a shower/toilet. The beach itself is very long, with amazing soft white sand. There are more shallow areas further towards tokyu hotel for the ones coming with kids. In the evening you can be lucky to view amazing sunset, if not too cloudy. The only thing I wouldn’t come here for is snorkeling: haven’t really seen any fish here.
