Yongala Lodge by The Strand

I really enjoyed my stay at Yongala. The location is good, the room was clean and spacious and the manager friendly. There is a pool there that was clean, although I didn't use it. The lodge is old and tired, but nevertheless fine for a brief stay. I would stay here again.

The room was spacious and clean. The owner takes pride in his establishment and mingles with guests. All staff were very friendly and supportive. The room was well appointed and current. The location was near many restaurants and attractions. This place is my fist choice to stay in Townsville. The value for money is good.||.

We were lucky to obtain a room after our booked accommodation stuffed up. It was a lot more expensive and nothing outstanding about it. No extras like shampoo or conditioner. Shower had no shelves for toiletries. We did squish a number of cockroaches. The fan which moved the air from the only air conditioner in the bedroom to the lounge area would only work on high which became quite annoying. Plumbing from other units was quite noisy in our unit. We actually stayed in this unit 11 years ago and it’s exactly the same.

The Lodge is tucked away in a quite location, Great for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway, very friendly service from staff, Rooms are clean and comfortable, walking distance to Cafe's and Beach is a short 2 minute stroll.

Basic hotel room. Aircon and fan works great. Fridge. Good bathroom, great water pressure and temperature. Right near the beach and a short walk to clubs and bars and eateries. In need of a little update here and there (the chair cushions were very dirty, drawer missing from bedside table etc) but overall it's a great place to stay.

We stayed at Yongala recently when we were evacuated with the floods. Our rooms were comfortable and clean and the management was SUPER friendly. Like 5 stars to you guys, you were so lovely! We will be back ❤️❤️

A wonderful hotel with good prices and in a great location. We showed up past the hours of reception looking for a room after an issue with the hotel we were supposed to be staying in that night, and the gentlemen who helped me was very kind. A historic building and the rooms and furniture represent that, a hotel with some charm. The rooms aren’t anything special but they have super neat and comfortable beds that you won’t see in many other hotels and the bedroom and bathroom are both are extremely spacious. Some might say that the style of the room could be a bit outdated but for a building like this it’s very fitting. The rooms are also extremely clean, and have great aircon. The one and only issue we had with the room was the pressure in the shower head was very harsh, but other than that not a single complaint.

This hostel has charm and is decently priced. The staff is amazing and very helpful! They have a nice little pool and BBQ's you can use for maling dinner. The rooms could do with an upgrade, but are good enough for adecent sleep. The AC works well.
