On the Grid : Yoom

"Yoom melts Chinese and French cooking in an arty restaurant. It is an unavoidable adress to enjoy dim sums, small traditional bites from China, hand-cooked and eaten as tapas. Menus are adapted to everyone, grilled or boiled, and filled with French ingredients. For desert, the French classics as lemon or tatin pies are revisited in a Chinese version, that you can eat with a cup of traditional tea." - Brand Brothers

"A modern restaurant where you can enjoy fine Dim Sum and enjoy the pop-art décor, inspired by traditional Chinese imagery. The Genmaicha tea is great. Worth the price tag!" - 4uatre

Great variety of dim sum, classic as well as special. Very tasty and light and so we had around 10 pieces per person, and all was great. The service was extremely friendly and quick. Will definetly go back there!

Below average food, in terms of quality and also taste. Ordered a variety of dim sum, (I’m also Chinese so know what this is)… one of the dish is kung pao chicken dim sum which is “inventive” already but they added tumeric to it.. which is just bizarre. When it arrived, I cannot eat tumeric, I ate one of the two and asked the waitress if there is tumeric in it… she said she didn’t know and so I asked her to ask the chef. She came back saying there is so I asked to take it back as I cannot eat tumeric; instead she told me I should have specified that before ordering. I mean who knew kung pao anything has tumeric, not to mention using it on dim sum! Anyways I ordered something else no big deal. But they ended up charging me for it and was quite rude about it when I questioned them… that I should specify my preferences from the start. For 5€ they lose a customer … Rest of food again below average, for better dim sum go to steam bar around the corner, is pricier but miles better in terms of quality and menu!

I stopped by for lunch and was surprised to find the place completely empty. The waiter was on his phone and didn’t acknowledge us for quite a while. I eventually had to wave him down to ask a question—because I genuinely thought I was reading the menu wrong. But no, it really said €90 for two pieces of dim sum. Absolutely not. On top of that, there wasn’t a single Asian or oriental staff member in sight, which says a lot about the authenticity. Save your money—this one’s a hard pass.

Some of the best bao I’ve had in Paris! We split the dragon menu and two orders of bao among 3 people. When I come back (which I definitely will!) I’ll get more bao instead of dumplings (ravioli). The dessert chocolate bao was also killer! And they have a good selection of teas. Yum!

Google
Amazing dim sums with both original and classical flavors. Huge +: they are very on point regarding any allergies you may have and will happily inform you/advise on that. Also, special note to the team and the owner of the place as they do speak to eachother very nicely and that’s not that common in restaurants. Don’t miss it !!

They really excelled in their chicken dumplings, the flavours were complex and subtle and enjoyable. Their Angus beef dumplings were really good too, seafood dumplings were ok. The portions were small but that was good since it allowed for ordering a bigger variety. The roasted rice and sesame dumpling dessert was heavenly, smokey yet sweet.

Really excellent restaurant. The food is creative and delicious. I tried the dragon menu with assorted dumplings. They were all fantastic.

Nice place, well decorated and full of foreigners (was shocked that we were the only table of Chinese guests), but the dim sum is not as good as we imagined. We asked, the chief is French, so maybe it’s more tailored to local taste. The Tang Yuan is my favorite :)

Yelp
Came here for a work dinner. I'm not much of a fan- it's French-style dim sum with flavors definitely more for the non-Asian. Would not recommend coming here for authentic dim sum- I actually prefer their desserts here over the dim sum if I had to pick something I liked here. The raspberry sorbet wrapped in mochi with a mint leaf was my favorite as well as the tapioca ball filled with black sesame filling in coconut milk. However, it's way overpriced here and not worth the woe of losing lots of money to unimpressive food. They had plates with old Chinese family's portraits and childhood images that were purely for decoration and thankfully not for eating off of... lol. It's more of an art installation I guess. I didn't come with the expectation that it'd be authentic dim sum... and I will give it that it tasted like Panda Express wrapped in a dumpling- I do like Panda Express on given occasions. But a lot of the food just ended being more salty than anything... and my Cantonese taste buds were begging for some sweetness in the savory foods.

Yelp
I would give Yoom 5 stars. The food is incredible & the staff wonderful but I was sitting pretty close to someone to not have their Pass Sanitaire checked. Mine was checked but now I wonder if it's because I walked in wearing a mask ....?

Yelp
Expensive and not really worth it for taste. Outdoor seating is great and the neighborhood is wonderful. Good for a quick pitstop if you wish but not for a real filling or tasty meal.

Yelp
This place was okay. Nice variety on the menu in terms of beef, chicken, veggie but the food wasn't crazy. The dim sum dishes are about 5-6 euros and come or 2 or 3. We got a bunch for the table and shared. I went to the one in saint germain. Nothing special

Yelp
Always a tasty adventure to eat dim sum there. The menu is a travel experience - with very original creations. Never a disappointment. The venue is nice, big windows with two floors.
