York Castle Hotel

The wine was okay and well priced however my steak lunch was terrible. Admittedly I ordered fairly well done but being scotch fillet it should still have been tender and cooked through. Not hard and scorched and full of gristle. To make matters worse we were a fairly large group and most of our party had eaten their food by the time I got my meal!

On top of this we were a large group and most of the party had finished their meal by the time mine arrived! I will not be returning to The Castle

The hotel rooms were very nice and clean. It is an old hotel so don't expect perfection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. |It was a pity that there wasn't a meal available on Monday and Tuesday but that it understandable with the way the world is now.|I ordered a packed lunch for the travel home which was lovely and included a sandwich/roll a drink and 2 snacks at a very reasonable price.|If I visited York again, I would definitely stay again as the price was reasonable.|Thank you

Convenient location at a heritage hotel in the heart of York town. Clean room with easy ♿ access to carpark. The heater didn't warm up room very well, so make sure to ask for extra blankets if travelling during winter!

We recently spent a team day at the Castle Hotel in one of their function rooms. The service and food were generous, timely and high quality and the room was comfortable, well set up and well air conditioned. Staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. We would like to thank Tracey and the team at the Castle Hotel for such a wonderful and welcoming experience!

Dated 1853 and I've never been here before I had a great lunch the staff were really nice highly recommend to come here for lunch people around us were really good and it looks like a very nice historical building inside.

Ordered ceasar salad with chicken.. Really good serve but spoilt with pieces of old rust stained lettuce instead of nice cose lettuce.. staff very pleasant.

Very friendly staff,cold beer & the Caesar's salad & fish of the day superb Highly recommended 🇭🇲
