York Castle Hotel

The wine was okay and well priced however my steak lunch was terrible. Admittedly I ordered fairly well done but being scotch fillet it should still have been tender and cooked through. Not hard and scorched and full of gristle. To make matters worse we were a fairly large group and most of our party had eaten their food by the time I got my meal!

Great atmosphere, it was a busy, crowded Sunday. However, you'd think it was just another day at the Hotel. Food excellent, good range of wines and beers. Not pricey, which added to a day trip to York. Our 1st stop in the future.

On top of this we were a large group and most of the party had finished their meal by the time mine arrived! I will not be returning to The Castle

We stopped for lunch and Stacey was very good and friendly, highly recommended. Food was ok but great service 🤣

Convenient location at a heritage hotel in the heart of York town. Clean room with easy ♿ access to carpark. The heater didn't warm up room very well, so make sure to ask for extra blankets if travelling during winter!

To be honest, I gave 5 star as I don't want to drop your rating . But if the management is really interested in an honest answer , please leave an email.

The hotel rooms were very nice and clean. It is an old hotel so don't expect perfection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. |It was a pity that there wasn't a meal available on Monday and Tuesday but that it understandable with the way the world is now.|I ordered a packed lunch for the travel home which was lovely and included a sandwich/roll a drink and 2 snacks at a very reasonable price.|If I visited York again, I would definitely stay again as the price was reasonable.|Thank you

This Hotel has heritage but due to business being very bad in York this Hotel does not offer Restaurant service as they have to rely on fi/fo workers to keep their doors open. Such a shame s they have location but thats where it ends
