For starters, this place is in a great location in a historic area and right on the beach. There was some sort of musical event nearby when we stopped by. Parking out front seems somewhat limited, and they appear to be vigilant about enforcing it, so I don't recommend you park and go to the beach before or after. There are probably nearby public spaces, but we didn't look into it. I wish we had more time, but we were just passing through. The food was good. The hamburger was tasty, and they had ample seafood options. The calamari was on the special menu (should be a regular item), and I regret not trying it as it had banana peppers and Thai chili sauce which is right up my alley.

Google
Amazing place for Delicious food!! Their clam chowder is SO SO GOOD!! Salads are big enough to share! Nicole was our server! She was excellent!! Right on the ball! Perfect place to stop to eat and so close to the water!! I highly recommend The Yorktown Pub!!

Google
Visited Yorktown on a whim and asked a couple of deputies where they would eat. They recommended the Yorktown Pub & they were not wrong. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, & great food. We ordered the platter, and everything was hot, tasty, and filling for 2 people.

Google
We visit the area every year and the Yorktown Pub is a must for us. Fresh oysters caught locally, breaded and fried, or you can get them your way. Also there is a daily fresh catch. The photo shows 1/2 of a meal.

Google
My wife and i had BBQ sandwich and clams strips for lunch, both very good. They offered a good selection of draft beer, we had 2 each.

The food was great. Our waitress was attentive and very nice. Public parking was next to the pub.

Google
We had the excellent service at this cute pub. It stays busy and its cozy inside. We went 2 nights in a row and all servers and hosts are kind and efficient. The food was very good. I loved the clam chowder, and the butter beans were so flavorful! And the crabcake sandwich is yummy too!

Yelp
Stopped here for my seafood fix while here in VA. We ordered some raw oysters that were good but were a little muddy for my liking. The fried seafood was mid at best, the fried oysters were cooked so bad they were stuck together and overly breaded. I was very disappoiinted here.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in before touring the Yorktown Battlefield Tour Friday afternoon. They were pretty full, we had to wait 15 or 20 minutes before we were seated. We opened with adult beverages as we peruse the menu. I have not been there for probably 25 years and I am happy to say that it hasn't changed! Still as wonderful and delicious as always. For our main courses, my wife ordered their Pub cheeseburger while I decided on the full order of fried Chesapeake oysters. With my fried oysters, I decided on having their fresh green beans and coleslaw as sides. What a wonderful decision as the whole meal was absolutely delicious! My wife truly enjoyed her Pub cheeseburger! We even walked out with a Yorktown, pub, T-shirt, and sweatshirt! So happy we were able to fit this wonderful place as we traveled reminiscing Lane! If you're in the area, visit! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Our server came over right away and told us about each menu. We ordered the Fried Dill Pickes, kids Chicken Tenders and a couple of local beers. The Fries Dill Pickles and the sauce it was served with were great. The breading was thin but tasty. The chicken tenders and fries were decent. The local beers were delicious! The pub itself was pretty cool. There was some local beer cap artwork that was really cool.

Yelp
Sweden you first walk in you think you're walking into a bar. Doing a great business, the place was jammed but just not at the bar. Even families jammed the place. We ordered steam shrimp, sandwiches, salad and fried shrimp dinner. When the brought in the steamed shrimp I couldn't believe my eyes. They were huge. I didn't get a chance to try them as I had fried on its way. When my platter arrived I also had giant shrimp and green beans & their homemade potato salad. Everything was excellent. However the potato salad was a little too creamy for the amount of potatoes. It's a lot closer to home than some other favorite places we like to frequent. We will return

Yelp
Yorktown Pub is the perfect place to stop for Lunch if your exploring the colonial parkway. I stopped in after driving from Virginia Beach and it didn't disappoint! The pub is quaint but has enough seating for larger parties. The bar offers a mixture of craft and domestic beers and serves them in a unique mug. The menu is what you would expect at a pub with a lot of local seafood options and specials. The service was outstanding! Nicole at the bar did an amazing job and I plan on coming back!

Yelp
Mrs Yelp and I decided on a little road trip today. Came here for lunch. Place is very busy. Service was nice, pleasant, and prompt. We had the crab dip and it was more than enough for two people. Needed a bit of salt I though. Mrs Yelp and I agree that it was large enough for a table of 3-4. Mrs had the fried shrimp and I had the gumbo. Gumbo was good with a bit of a bite. The fries were spot on. Location is spot on.

Yelp
Found this from a search on Yelp before we visited the American Revolution Museum and it was great! Everything we ordered was phenomenal and the service was so quick, considering it was very busy. The BLT was a favorite of the group!

Yelp
Initially we were supposed to go for just a drink, but we ended up driving to Yorktown to view the man made beach front. Parking is only available to customers at the pub, and since this is a tourist destination an empty lot is hard to come by. We shared with the hostess of eating outside, which was tented, and mosquito guarded by their nets. However, the plastic did obstruct the view of the water. Our waitress presented us with the specials and menu. She was nice, but I think the pub was short staffed, since it took about 20 minutes after our drinks were taken. We decided on a bowl of New England Clam Chowder, and the steamed Sampler. The sampler came with 6 oysters, 6 clams, and 1/2 of shrimp. They were delicious and fresh. I can't stop raving on the clam chowder with chunks of potato, and oysters. It was savory and wonderful. The shrimp was not deveined, but still good to dip in the melted butter. I'd recommend the Oysters topped with some horseradish, and hot sauce placed on crackers. I also dipped the steam clams in the butter as well ;) Overall, great food, but service can be spotty. If your patient it'll be worth it especially with the views:)

Yelp
Whenever I'm in town, my first thought goes to the delicious crab cake at Yorktown pub. I seriously cannot wait to get there to have it. Being lactose intolerant I can't have crab cakes where ever they serve it. But luckily here I can and it's big and delicious! I got the sandwich and needed to pass on some of the bread just so I can finish the crab cake itself. Worth it, delicious, my favorite thing here and I highly recommend. Also the gumbo was fantastic. Everyone who works here is the suuuuuuper nicest. Very chill spot to visit with killer water views outside. Only strange thing is getting ice in my mimosa but not a big deal, still very tasty. Always have a great time here with the best company, amazing food and yummy drinks. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came here because we were craving clam chowder (it doesn't come with bacon like it does in NC! Hooray). We both got a bowl and finished it before I realized I didn't take a picture. So good. I got the rockfish sandwich. It was a big filet that was cooked to perfection. Being from Florida, I am picky! My husband had the Rachel and said it was great. Ambiance and service was good too! Highly recommend.

Yelp
We were given this place as a suggestion from staff at the Yorktown visitors center. Was told it was a nice place on the water with great food options. She was correct. So glad we took her suggestion. They have both indoor and outdoor dining space we opted to sit outside so we could see the bay and watch the sunset. We ordered jumbo shrimp, baked potato, battle burger and potato salad. All very good choices.

Yelp
Once again, a must experience dining sensation! The crab cakes are in friggin believable!

Yelp
Great staff and atmosphere. Food was delicious. Especially the Gonzo burger. Definitely a place to come and relax on a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late weekday lunch and it was packed- we were still able to sit immediately but it was bustlin. It's a gorgeous area right on the water, I bet it's even better in warm weather. Service was very friendly, helpful, and quick. Everyone was very pleased with their orders and I would come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
The place is decorated nicely for Christmas with plenty of lights and ornaments. We got our food fast and the dishes are all very generous portions.

Yelp
I decided today was a good to get out of the house and enjoy a meal. So I decided to try the Yorktown Pub, what a great place friendly, professional people with a great menu and excellent food. The price was reasonable and I truly enjoyed the place. I will return many times, highly recommend.

Yelp
Fun local place. Great staff. Relaxing. Food was delicious. Can't beat the location

Yelp
Great food, service, and friendly, fun vibe. Cozy Britishesque tavern ambiance. Good beer selection

Yelp
Always great atmosphere near Yorktown beach and national park service sites. They have a standard menu and a weekly special menu that has lots of unique options, I try and choose from that menu every time we stop there.

Yelp
Such a nice local spot! located right in front of the beach, so you can walk around after eating! The waitress was super kind and took our orders quickly. The place was bustling with lots of people and noise which was perfect! It's small but big enough to host lots of different party sizes. The food came out quick and so did our drinks! The sandwich was cooked perfectly! It was so flavorful and flaky! Would return!

Yelp
For a busy area for tourists and local alike, there aren't a ton of restaurants in this area. After spending the day at the nearby, national historic sites, we were looking for a spot with a view, a beer, and a good meal. We were fortunate to snag a table on the patio, and our server was very sweet. I was very disappointed to see the kitchen staff smoking in the small walkway between the restaurant and the patio tables. Several workers from inside came out 3 separate times to smoke over the course of our meal that was less than an hour long. The food was decent. Pretty standard pub food. My mom really enjoyed her clam chowder, and the fried shrimp was quite good. If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite, this place was just fine. The inside ambience was very quirky and fun. Definitely a local pub scene.

Yelp
I don't usually write yelp reviews, but the experience I had at Yorktown Pub is worth sharing for anyone thinking of dining here. If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm still in disbelief over what happened. I was having lunch with my mum and my husband after exploring Yorktown and a friend of ours recommended Yorktown Pub. We were excited to see that it was right on the beach and there was an outdoor patio with barely anyone out there. We ordered the fish and chips, some shrimp and a salad.. which were actually pretty good. It's just a shame that the food came with the most bizarre and humiliating interaction with the manager. It was a hot day, so I took the straps off my jumpsuit and tucked them into my bralette. As I was waiting for my meal, the manager came to our table and asked me to pull up my shirt. Yes, you read that correctly. Pull. Up. My. Shirt. I was completely taken aback and asked her to repeat herself, thinking I must have misheard. She said that someone complained. I'm not sure I believe that, but okay... This was in front of my husband and my mum, both of whom were shocked at what had just happened. I'm honestly not a confrontational person, and I just froze and adjusted myself. I felt humiliated, and I still can't believe that someone complained about how I was dressed. The experience felt very violating, offensive, and frankly, pretty creepy. Especially considering this pub is 10 feet from the beach, folks are walking around in bikinis, and many of the waitresses were wearing booty shorts and tank tops (no judgement, just a bit hypocritical). I will never set foot in your establishment again, and I strongly urge others to stay far away. No meal is worth this kind of backwards misogyny.

Yelp
Cute little pub. Right on the water and easy to get to. Inside looks very local and homey. The food was good and the service was delightful. Very much a local spot and will come back during the summer.

Yelp
Had a lovely family dinner here the other night! Party of four on a Thursday night which is a busy night in Yorktown during the summer months because of their outdoor concert series. The place was already packed at 5:15 but we were able to snag one of the last tables. Food wise: Excellent: Potato skins, clam chowder, fried shrimp, fried scallops, hush puppies, fried fish and fries. Good: burger, Jamaica chicken sandwich, crab cake, cole slaw and potato salad. Service was good and even though it was busy our server made sure to check in on us.
google avatar

Stephanie N.

Yelp
Had early dinner and it was amazing! The crab cake sandwich my husband got was full of crab with a flavorful sauce. The Rubin was huge and too much for 1 meal. The coleslaw was saucy. Quaint spot with excellent service.

Yelp
Beer. And more beer. But add in the food and then you have a pub. This pub was great they had regular tables, banquet type seating with padded seats, and then the bar tables where you sit up higher. Thankfully my friend and I were just two and we were able to get seated right away even there were a whole host of people waiting outside to be seated for luncheon. I had the Jamaica Jamaica chicken and boy was it yummy. They seasoned it really well and it had pineapple on it as well it's kind of like a burger type sandwich. My companion had shrimp and said it was just scrumptious and so are the french fries. They were hot and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They had a whole array of beers. Service was really fine, the waitress was quite attentive even though it was kind of loud and crazy at lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon with everyone over at the beach. This pub is perfectly situated and if you do happen to get a window seat as we were fortunate to have, you're pretty much looking out right onto the Chesapeake bay and waterways. You could watch families gallivanting on the beach, and you're also right by the pier and you can watch the ships. We watched the ferry going across from one side over to Gloucester. This pub mix for a fun dining experience with delicious food. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Yorktown pub has Good food, nice people, and pretty creative drinks for the area. No complaints.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite eating places! Always fun and with a great view! I love almost everything they have to offer!

Yelp
Great pub on the water near Yorktown Battlefield. Seafood is fresh and so are the beers. I recommend this pub

Yelp
My wife and I love this little hole in the wall. They always make you feel like a local even if you're not. We feel like locals because Yorktown feels like home. The food is so good, and the service is great and quick. We have had several different things and not a single thing to say negative about any of it. I really like you can have your burgers cooked anyway you like them. The pub is a must.
google avatar

Jodi L.

Yelp
If you want pub food that is done right go check them out. It is a little touristy, since it is right next to a hotel and at the end of the Riverwalk, but it is a fun spot. It has the feel of a pub with multiple TV's which were playing football games. It has a bar and all tables feel bar or pub like. The walls are full of fun fisherman decor. The food had full flavors. The gumbo was surprisingly great! I was a fan of the blackening flavors. My husband got the crab cake and it was huge. It is good pub food, but does have a touristy price tag. But a mid price point for what is walkable.

Yelp
Yorktown pub is conveniently located at Yorktown beach. It offers a cute pub atmosphere with souvenir tshirts and sweatshirts. The wooden panel walls and booth are decorated with initials of past diners. The staff is cheerful. There is a big variety of drinks. I've been 3 times and the drinks are pretty good but the food can be hit or miss. I've had a huge seafood platter that was big enough to share and it was really great. Tonight we had the crab dip and it's not really a cheesy goeyness we were hoping for. We had nachos which has a flair of provolone and chili, salsa and pepperoncini peppers that I can't say I've ever seen on nachos before. Our friend had a great looking salad which had red onion, cranberries, balsamic, blue cheese crumbles and sun dried tomatoes. It looked very fresh but an interesting combo of ingredients. The bathrooms are clean which is always a plus and we were able to get a booth on a Thursday. This place is convenient to the Yorktown beach.

Yelp
Came to Yorktown beach from RVA to explore and tour the area with a family member visiting town. We stopped here bc it seemed to have just the type of food we were looking for. It's a bit small and therefore can feel crammed and crowded in case that matters to you. We got the seafood sampler platter and shared two of them. Fed 3 adults and 2 kids so a great value. I loved everything, my favorite being the fried oysters, crab cakes and shrimp.

Yelp
A nice local spot right on the water! Very clean restaurant with quality and fresh seafood. Staff is wonderful and will treat you like family. 10/10 recommend :)

Yelp
This is a spot I've walked by countless times strolling the Yorktown waterfront I finally decided to try them out for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the bar food and that is not an insult. I had the crab cakes that were delicious I remember telling my Wife that'll be hard for me not to order it again if we come back. She had the flounder and loved it and let me tell you she's not easy to please with her fish. My highlight was the Gumbo I'm not sure if it was the shelled shrimp in the middle(see my picture) but wow it was as good as you can get outside of Louisiana I'll die on that hill..all in all a great little spot and we'll be back in between our walks on the beach.
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
Great location and potential but we weren't overly impressed. Service was slow and our waitress constantly forgot things like when two of us ordered another round and she'd only bring back one, or when asked for a side of tartar sauce and malt vinegar and she brought us ranch?!?! Maybe she was having an off day? The food was pretty good with the exception of the prime rib sandwich. It was tough and very little meat compared to the size of roll it came on. Atmosphere inside looked fun and interesting but unfortunately we were seated in a tent outside which was dull and boring in comparison.
google avatar

Anne H.

Yelp
The gumbo was delicious. We ordered the beer special but got charged the regular beer price. The manager was rudely adamant that we pay for the beer that was served, not the beer we ordered. It was only another $9, but the manager was completely unapologetic for their mistake. We paid, left and won't be back.
google avatar

Laurie M.

Yelp
While the food tasted pretty good, all six of us were sick later that night with abdominal cramping and the big D.I suspect bad oil used to fry the onion rings but who knows? The waitress was a real peach-NOT! A pretty face doesn't equate to a good person-she basically used the other staff to do her work and when we had a problem with one of the entrees, she said she could fix us something else but would not COMP it...the Pub atmosphere is darling and it was our second visit after last year, but we will never go back after the way were treated...and the after gift of illness...plus a 20% tip added to our bill so the snotty waitress learned nothing and got paid for it...our only recourse is here, warning other visitors to go elsewhere!
google avatar

Scott A.

Yelp
Omg! This place is amazing! It's a little off the beaten path, but worth it. We had one of the best crab Les we've ever had, fantastic fresh clam strips, and $1 raw oysters. Oh yeah, the servers were awesome also.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped after checking out the American Revolution Museum. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was crowded. Took us about ten minutes to be seated. Not too bad. Our waitress was very nice. My wife ordered the shrimp and I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Both of us got the potato salad. The food was very good. The shrimp was great as well as the prime rib. My brother in laws steak Oscar was not done according to his request. He asked for medium well and he got medium rare. The waitress did take it back without a problem. The "new" dish was perfect. Beers were fine. The place itself is a landmark. Gotta stop there.

Christa D.

Yelp
The grilled cheese made it obvious that they don't use basic cleaning practices in the kitchen. It was covered in burned food, remnants of meals previously served, left on the griddle by a careless chef. The char from other foods gave the grilled cheese a nasty taste. We told the waitress and she said "OMG! If you saw the kitchen!". She took it away but still charged us. The bowl of seafood gumbo was mostly rice but had a nice flavor.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and great views of the York River. Service was okay but the food was ordinary, if not less than. The Gumbo was more like a soup, the hamburger was served rare (when ordered well), twice. They took it back to cook longer and still showed up rare. (???) Their potato salad was bland and the crab dip taste more like tuna dip. Just not a great food experience. None of us finished our meal nor would we go back. Go for the drinks and views but not for the food.

Yelp
Sunday last week was one of those days that we just got in the car and drove. We drove towards Yorktown. We stopped at one of the pull offs nearby and explored the area. Of course all that exploring brought on an appetite. We decided on Yorktown Pub. We drove to Yorktown Pub. There happen to be an event going on when we were there. But, we were lucky that we found parking just near the front door and only waited 5-10 min for seating. The interior seemed a little cramped, but we were seated at a booth which made it feel less cramped. There is plexiglass separating the booths in front and behind you. It really made me wonder what it was like before covid. Our waitress was as attentive as she can be she had multiple tables. The menu had many choices to choose from. With it being called a pub I was kinda hoping for some pub like food but it was more like a oceanfront pub with seafood options. The options on the menu were good though. My son got the chicken fingers from the kids menu. They were decent size and delicious. My daughter opted for the BLT, and she had no complaints. With the help of the waitress I got the 1/2 portion of the fried shrimp. It was delicious and flavorful. My salad was ok. The cucumbers were dry on it along with the green pepper slice. It was as if it was old veggies or it had been made a day prior. The baked potato was ok. It was kinda rushed out because somewhere there was a mix ups All in all our meal was good. We will keep this in mind when we are in the area.

Yelp
(Some friendly notes just in case this ends up being a sob story apology from their management. Today you showed a 5 year old racism for the very first time, you threatened to call cops on a non violent situation and you told me to kill my self infront of my child. I truly hope you think on that. No matter what your racial beliefs are. How you view me. Anything. a child had to see you behave that way. My kid screamed "I don't want to go to jail.") Pulled up to have a little lunch before we went to the beach with my friends and child, the apparent parking attendant watched us unpack, clean up the car and then told us that parking was for pub only. Ok. Good thing we were going into the pub. I told her thank you and to mind her business and she said I needed a shirt to eat, I told her again I had a shirt with me and to mind her business. At that point clearly I'm not spending money here. So I went in to complain about her and came back out. She stood behind my car told me she knew what I was doing, knows what it looks like when people aren't eating. Etc etc. Then a waitress told me she was calling the police on us if we didn't leave the parking lot??? WOW. As you can see in this video the lady is behind my car, I leave once she walks off. Other people were pulling in left and right and she didn't say anything to them. I didn't bring up being Black. I didn't bring up race. Nothing. She choose to make my child cry and pick on us despite the fact that we were hungry and had money to spend here. Skip it.

Yelp
My family and I had a great experience dining here. We are from Oregon so this is our first experience in Yorktown and this restaurant was awesome! We were seated immediately, and our server, Courtney, was excellent. We had some of the fried oysters and mahi fish and chips, both were large portions and delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Michael L.

Yelp
Service was borderline incompetent. Food, fish, and beer selection pretty good. My waitress took 15 minutes to get to my table then after drinks, she took another 15 minutes to come back. I asked another waitress to take my order which she happily did.
google avatar

Russell S.

Yelp
Don't know if I'd recommend. Food was decent, but the service was poor. Waitress was either inexperienced, incompetent, or overworked. Possibly all three. But either way, she was more worried about her vape than her job. She dropped a plastic cocktail sauce container while bussing a table and it splattered all over my wife. The waitress watched it fall to the ground, but neither stopped to pick it up nor acknowledged that she made a mess on my wife. Sure, it was an accident, but she left the mess and didn't offer to bring a towel to help my wife clean up. Other patrons had to offer us napkins to help clean her up. Kids had a fried mahi filet, and the wife and I had a decent crab cake burger. Neither was anything special. Pretty standard. If you're gonna get average food, get it at a place with better service.
