WORST EXPERIENCE AND PLACE EVER, DO NOT GET THERE||* The room: |- Ours was next to the street, where dozens of jeeps pass from 2 to 3:30. Do not expect to be able to sleep with such noise|- No thick curtain, expect lots of light in the room from 5am|- Water from the sink just goes down on your feet||* The food: eggs pastas and rice are fried and oily, orange juice tastes very bad (not fresh), and the host refused to give us milk for the coffee ^^||* The experience: my girlfriend and I wanted to hike to Bromo viewpoints, then Bromo itself, by our own means. |The tour organiser from the hotel tried to sell us his tour, telling us with great insistence that it is very dangerous to hike to Bromo viewpoints in the dark, that the road was not indicated clearly, and we might get lost in the dark and fog.|We ended up walking there by our own means, and can tell: the walk up to the viewpoints is a not even a hike, it is just a simple one-hour walk. Hundreds of families walk there every morning with kids, wearing usual urban clothes. The walk is super well indicated, accessible to anyone in average physical condition.|Trying to scare us in order to sell their tour, pretending to be willing to help, was VERY DISHONEST. I had never experienced such dishonest behaviour in a hotel yet.||The hotel is a 15 mins drive away from Cemorolawang, and it is not possible to get taxis from there (no Grab nor Blue Bird), especially by night. So the only way was to ask the hotel to get a taxi for us. |The tour organiser from the Hotel refused to get us there if we didn't buy the full tour, thus forcing us to do so, as otherwise we'd be TRAPPED IN THIS ISOLATED PLACE. Thus we ended up paying 27€ each to escape the place.||In summary: terrible place, terrible food, and some dishonest people trying to scam you (most people working at the place were nice, I'm only refering to the guy who sells tours here). |TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST
