This one is hard to review. Check in was easy. They had multiple people and had a nice lodge style area on one side of check in and a nice gift shop/mini mart on the other side. Since we checked in at almost 8pm parking close to our room was tough but we eventually found a spot. We paid for a double room not by the river but were given a king room next to the river. Being right next to the river and directly over the fitness center had its advantages and disadvantages. First off the river is beautiful and amazing but really loud. The room was probably built in the 70’s and has single pane windows that don’t open easily and definitely don’t close properly so it feels like there aren’t any windows. There were cool fire pits next to the fitness center and by the river right outside our windows so people with kids were out there until a little after 10pm enjoying their time but we could hear every word even with the noise from the river. We were planning to get up at 5am and get into the park before the 6am appointment thing. We didn’t have a reservation so that’s what we did. Eventually everyone left and we were able to sleep a little. The room itself was not nice in any area. This room needs a complete remodel ASAP. I can go on and on about how dated and crusty this room is but I’m sure they know. This was the only time I wasn’t excited about the upgrade to a more expensive room. I do appreciate the thought though. I felt a little better the next day when we got back from the park and sat on our balcony staring at the river and beautiful view from our room. Also they have two restaurants here. A pizza place that had good pizza, $25 for an 8 slice medium the other restaurant I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken to go and when I went to pay the cost was $26. I never checked the price. I just assumed it would be $12-15 so check those prices because it was by far the worst Caesar salad I ever had. Atmosphere was nice with outdoor seating. I’d stay here again but only because it’s like 2.5 miles from the entrance to Yosemite and it’s less expensive than the hotels inside the parks.

The location is great, 5 minutes drive from the park entrance. The view from our balcony of the river was lovely. |They’re the only good points! |To say this hotel is dated is an understatement.. our room was big but horrible. The carpet looked gross and the pillows were awful, cheap thin blanket on a sheet, kitchenette icky, the sink didn’t even Drain. The shower had no method to it, just keep turning the knob and hope for the best.. there’s no safe to store valuables and the wifi rarely works. We tried to use the cappuccino machine the next morning but it dispensed dishwater looking liquid… |We ate at the River restaurant the first night - awful! Super slow service, hideous food and awful decor. The pizza place was better on the second night, they cook them freshly for you, the toppings are cheap quality, but edible. |We loved the park and appreciate that people are going to be out most of the day, but there must be better places to stay than here.

Hello Everyone — I was there in this property with my family for 1 night around June 2025 and the overall experience was Amazing !! Property Location and scenic beauty (5/5) — the location was not pretty close to falls but the scenic beauty was mesmerizing, 1 side with mountain and the other side with Mountain and river. Beautiful is less in one word! Front desk and overall service (5/5) — Front desk team (everyone) are the champs, very helpful, well behaved, friendly and happy to help types. Parking (5/5) — there are enough parking and there is no charges. Onsite Restaurant (5/5) — There are 2 onsite restaurants, both are amazing. We ordered Pizzas 🍕 and Chicken wings 🪽 both were delicious. Room (4/5) — that’s the area and reason for giving 4/5 the overall rating. Overall room is very big and we took 2 queen bed rooms. Queen beds were also spacious. Challenge was, (1) AC is in the room, not connected in the bathroom, no centralized AC. (2) bathroom toilet tissue holder was broken (3) room was little smelly Not to miss — Pl take a river facing room, you can enjoy a drink from patio/balcony with your near and dear one. I sincerely request the team to work on this issues for future guest to visit and enjoy the property at fullest.

Amazing location, right into the nature. Our room had a balcony right over the river, which was in full capacity and, to be honest, quite loud... but that was something we could bear with given the awesomeness of the view. Remember that the restaurant is closing early for Italian standards (around 20:30 / 21) and there's a good store at the reception, with some food and great t-shirts.

I stayed here with my 84 year old mom in the Redbud building. We were very pleased! Our room was right along the river and it was gorgeous! Comfortable beds and other furnishings. We even had a kitchenette and a fireplace! We also loved the pools and the hot tubs on the property. So happy with our stay!

Google
A great location, just 2 miles outside the park, and the river view rooms are just magnificent! The view and sound of the river made our stay. We loved the store located next to the lobby, definitely has everything needed and wanted, from snacks and water to simple meals. As well as clothing bags accessories jewelry souvenirs etc!!! The Restaurant was convenient, and we loved the pizza place they have on site as well. There's an ATM a laundromat and ample parking.

My wife and I stayed there for a few days, may 8th, 9th, 10th 2025 in room 1046. The room is great, the river right off the deck. The people are really nice and the location is perfect. My issue with the place are somewhere significant first it's a handicapped room but the wheelchair entrance to the pool/ hot tub area was pad locked making the pool in accessable without walking down several stairs. The Internet was non existent. I called and was told it would be fixed but it never was. I had work and school items needing my attention but because they couldn't or wouldn't fix the issue I couldn't attend to them There were bugs, many bugs in the hotel room and even in the bed! I understand that it is on the river but at this price point it should not be an issue. The first day I arrived in the shower there were roach like bugs in the shower. Several of them I witnessed and pictured during my stay. Then there were ants everywhere the last night. We called and we were given 10% off the last day which was appreciated and everyone was really nice here. I would love to stay there again but would need a better discount considering the issues we had

Big rooms and great location. Clean and comfortable. Multiple pools and convenience stores open late for snacks and alcohol. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the creek, just stunning view and sound of a roaring river. Only bad thing is no restaurant is open for lunch! Eat 45 minutes away or you will not find anything.

Yelp
Perfect Stay Near Yosemite - Spacious, Comfortable, and Convenient! We had an incredible stay at Yosemite View Lodge! The amenities were fantastic--multiple pools to choose from, a restaurant, and a well-stocked store all within walking distance. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the spacious accommodations. Our room had three full queen beds, an extra living area, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette equipped with a stove, microwave, and a large fridge. It was also well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and everything we needed for our stay. We were blown away by how accessible and convenient everything was. The two TVs were a nice bonus, making it easy for everyone to unwind after a long day exploring Yosemite. The location is unbeatable--just minutes from the park entrance. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and will definitely be returning! Clean facility. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The place is decent, I can't complain. The stove didn't work, and we couldn't call them because phones are down. The food at the restaurant is decent for the price. It's a better version of a McDonald's food. Bacon was delicious! So if you're looking for a decent hotel, this is it. It's on the older side, like the tv, shower, and items in the room. Great access to your rooms, indoor pool and some cool views. I will definitely stay again, but I will first make sure the stove works...

Yelp
all-encompassing and clean facility! booked the loft and it was two stories with 1 queen and 1 king bed. extremely spacious with a cute spiral staircase and well-lit restroom. however, the tv remote controller didn't work and even though it had netflix and youtube they didn't work. we used room service a lot and they were fast and helpful. additional amenities: - game room (7/10): lots of games but some of them were broken, there's also card/board games with missing pieces - hot tubs (7/10): really nice after a long hike day but wish the bubble pressure was harder - grocery market within the lobby: 10/10, we grocery shopped at oakhurst but this has everything you'll need including non-groceries and not inflated prices either - 3 outdoor swimming pools + 1 indoor: didn't get to go in but looked nice

Yelp
I am a bit surprised to see that the overall rating for Yosemite View Lodge is only 3 stars. My experience here in September 2024 was a great one, and I feel this place is a great jumping off point for exploring the park. A friend and I had a standard queen size room which was affordable when considering the cost of accommodations in the are. We were here off season, so it was probably a better deal than during the peak travel times. Our room was on the second floor of the central building by the road. We were facing the main road, but actually it was fairly quiet as traffic in and out of the park was not busy at the time. We were close to the general store and lobby as well as to the pool area with hot tubs near the river. The room was well equipped with a kitchenette, spacious bathroom and comfortable beds. There are some aspects of the room that were older, but overall everything was clean and in good working order. I enjoyed my stay here, and I have a strong desire to return to Yosemite again in the future. Being in NY it's quite a hike, but I plan to come back and I would stay here again because it's definitely worth it for me, especially if you're going during a time that's not as busy (late september). I did see the accommodations within the park, and to be honest, while those are conveniently located, they are crowded and expensive. Yosemite View Lodge was a perfect alternative.

Yelp
Over all we had a pleasant stay in our room, like most hotels it is just a place to rest for the night. We had a party of six so we were in one of the bigger family suites, it was nice to have the extra space to stretch out and relax together in one big hotel room instead of getting two smaller rooms. There were a few minor negatives about the suite which included terrible water pressure in the showers, some of the dishes in the kitchen were still visibly dirty from the last guests, a little bit of wall paper in the kitchen was coming down and the spa tub switch was hidden behind the towels. Otherwise the room was cozy & welcoming, we felt relaxed and comfortable. I also liked the little travel toiletries that were provided, they had a nice smell to them. The property has a lot of fun amenities like an indoor pool & hot tub along with an outdoor pool & hot tub. It was nice to relax in the hot tub after a long day of travel. There was also a game room just a short walk from our room which had some board games, random books, two living rooms with sofas and TV's along with a big room that had a pool table, air hockey and more. A few of the electronic games in the room weren't on/working but there was still plenty to do! We hung out in the game room for quite sometime. Near the front desk is a large living room type area with plenty of seating where you can relax if you wish. There is also a pretty decent sized store & gift shop were you can find souvenirs, clothing and even do some light grocery shopping. The prices weren't bad, and they had a lot to choose from. We actually ended up buying our breakfast from their little shop, because surprisingly with how expensive the rooms are they don't even include a basic breakfast. If you want actual breakfast they had a small buffet in their on site restaurant, we didn't get breakfast there but looking at other reviews it was almost $22 per person which is pretty high. We did visit the restaurant for dinner while we were there. The property has two places to eat aside from the little grocery store they have there is a restaurant & a pizza place. For some reason the pizza spot is closed during the winter so the only option was the restaurant. Service was very slow, it took a while to get seated even with it being mostly empty and it took a long time to order then get our food. The tables were also very uneven and wobbly but I think that may be due to the floor. However the food was very good & the waiter in charge of refilling drinks was on top of making sure our glasses stayed full. The view of the river outside of our room was gorgeous and I loved sitting outside in a chair just listening to the sound of the running water. The hotel was over all pretty quiet at night so it was just you and the sound of nature which was peaceful. We also sat out near the river itself at a little firepit area they had set up. The view of the stars at night was spectacular. The short drive to Yosemite National Park from this hotel was also a plus because you can get into the park as soon as they open for the day and try to beat some of the crowds.

Yelp
Great value and location for a Yosemite trip! 20-25 minutes to the valley (tunnel view a little closer side) Not as expensive as in park hotels but similar looking in terms of quality and they do have A/C in each room. A nice shop down in entrance lobby and pizza/restaurant on site. Also saw a shuttle YARTS that can take you in but I just drove to where I wanted. Has several pools and hot tubs, which I tired. The outdoor pool was not heated and a nice little refresher. Worth booking and seems to have better availability but they do charge for Wifi at 24 hour clips.

Yelp
Our 3 nights and 4 days at this lodge in May was amazing as it served the purpose of providing clean room with cozy beds, large bath tub/shower space with mineral water, practical kitchen, small refrigerator that contained our drinks, produces, etc., air conditioner that can be turned on 24 hours, cool BBQ areas, several fire pits and swimming pools, wonderful customer service, and a breath taking river view. It was just as my sister told me. She visited couple months prior to our visit and recommended me this place, which I was so glad. They have a lounge next to the front desk where you can access to wi-fi and internet with a fee, hang out and relax in front of the fire place, and lots of tables and chairs so you can sit and eat comfortably. Most convenient thing was they have a small market on the other side of the front desk where you can buy basic produce such as eggs, bread, milk, etc., medicine, snacks, etc. Also, if you didn't have a chance to buy any souvenir, there is nothing to worry since they have a gift store right next to the market. If you don't feel like cooking, they have you covered. They have a restaurant inside the property. We didn't have a chance to visit but looked like the guests were satisfied with the food and service. During our stay, we needed more detergent for the dishes so we called the front desk and it arrived within 10-15 minutes. On top of that, he brought two detergents, which was impressive. There are two things that I would like to share. First is, if you return to the lodge late starting from 5pm, you probably have to park your car far from your room since the parking lot fills out really fast. Another thing is, if you booked a room with Merced river view and are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs because it is very loud due to the water stream.

Lanette D.

Yelp
The hotel was fine. The room was clean and it's very close to the park entrance. I don't recommend the restaurant there. The service was so slow that we finally ordered to go. It was NOT worth the price.

Yelp
Nice stay. Very quiet, great view from the balcony. They had cold medicine at the reception desk to buy. Saved our trip

Yelp
I stayed here for three nights with a friend and we had a good experience. It's the closest lodge to the park entrance, and they advertise as being 2 miles away from the park, which is true, but in reality it's more of a 30 minute drive into the valley and an hour to Glacier Point. That's not a complaint, but something to consider if you're thinking of booking here. You still need a car if you want to get into the park. The price is expensive considering the accommodations, but since there aren't many places to choose from to stay, they can get away with the pricing. Overall though, the bed was comfortable and I liked the high ceilings of the room. The kitchenette is also a nice plus. I didn't go to the restaurant (looked way too expensive for what they were offering), and Parkside Pizza cost me $18 for a small (4 slice) and a soda. You're better off buying some groceries and cooking them there. The prices within the little convenience store were not too bad. I also enjoyed the fitness center and pool. The fitness center had free weights, kettlebells, some cardio equipment (which I didn't use) and a strength machine station. It was just enough to get in a small workout while on vacation. Only complaint is the room was very dry. We left the air conditioning on and that also contributed to the dryness. As others have said, the decor isn't the most modern, but overall I had a pleasant stay here and would return again.

Yelp
We've stayed in 3 different rooms: standard king, river king, and river queen. We enjoyed our stay. It's the closest accommodation outside the park- Yosemite entrance gate was probably 5 minutes away. There's a restaurant, pizza shop, and market on the premises. We ate the meat lovers pizza multiple nights and really liked it! There's a game room that gets busy at night. The market has utensils, plates, bowls, pads, tampons, diapers, baby wipes, souvenirs, food, etc. There's also a gas station about 5 minutes down the road. Our favorite part was playing in the Merced River! Even if you don't stay in a river room, you can still enjoy the river. The different buildings vary in quality- I think Sequoia is a newer building. Our river queen room was in the Sequoia building and we loved it! All 3 of our rooms were clean, and had plenty of soap and towels. Staff quick to help when we had questions. We'd definitely come back again!

Yelp
Stayed in a River Queen room but didn't fully enjoy the room and the view because we checked in late and checked out early. The view outside was breathtaking though. The room was nice and clean and spacious. The bathroom was bigger than I expected. It was easy to check in and check out. I recommend staying here when visiting Yosemite National Park.

Yelp
Stayed here while visiting Yosemite, and I'll give the positives first: 1. Location. You can't get closer without staying in the park. 2. Views. The rooms facing the Merced have fantastic views! 3. Pools/Spas. There are many of them, and they are nice. Unfortunately that's about it. If you are looking for a slightly more comfortable experience than camping, then this is the place for you. More motel than hotel... amenities are lacking. If you need Internet to enjoy your vacation, be warned, the Internet here is TERRIBLE and not usable for even uploading pictures to social media, forget streaming. Not a concern if you're here to enjoy nature, but be warned and set your expectations accordingly. We had multiple issues with the front desk. Most of the employees were very nice, there was one gentlemen who was downright rude and obnoxious (see other reviews below, we're not the only ones who experienced this gentleman's "hospitality"). However nice does not equal competent. On several occasions we called to request things like towels (there were 4 of us in the room, yet only 2 towels provided), a fresh dish sponge (the one that was there when we arrived was clearly used and filled with bits of food and dirt), additional coffee for the coffee machine, and toilet/facial tissue... they were happy to assist us and say that the supplies would be right up, but they never arrived. I made many trips to the lobby to pick these things up myself. In the room itself, the carpet was dirty (but hey, it's Yosemite, lots of people hiking, tracking in dirt, it's to be expected), the lights in the ceiling fan did not work, the fan itself made a ticking sound when on that was quite annoying and impossible to sleep with, the water pressure was nonexistent... making baths the only real option to get clean. The 'freezer' in the fridge did not keep things frozen, even for a matter of hours. There is a closet and a couple of drawers in the nightstand between the bed, but that is it for storage. This place is great if you are just looking for something more comfortable than a tent... but if you're expecting a hotel or resort type experience here, as I said earlier, think of it as a high-end motel and you won't be disappointed. Lastly for the food options, there are two restaurants onsite, check the reviews for both of them, then go to the pizza place.

Alton M.

Yelp
I stayed at this lodge for a week to nine days at least three times. It's very helpful, the staff is terrific, the store in the lobby is extremely helpful because of the wide range of products and food that it offers, and it's a good basic hotel. You're not living in luxury and the restaurant may be slow and the pizza shop may not be open at all, but you have good safe clean hotel service and it's very close to Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite is not bad at all and very scenic. They're probably the best place to stay. I do wish they wouldn't blast Sunday services throughout the hotel campus on Sunday mornings.

Yelp
We stayed for two nights while visiting YNP. This hotel is conveniently located just outside of the park entrance. The place has multiple pools, a fitness center, and restaurants on proper. Some staff was very polite and greeted guests, while other staff didn't acknowledge guests or gave looks that appeared as though they were mad and disliked that were at work. Overall it was a nice place, just need to ignore the staff that aren't polite.

Yelp
Overall it was very cool. We got a room with the river view which was so lovely we had our own patio and umbrella. It was mid-October so availability was good. My favorite part was the little kitchenette. My boyfriend and I did not use the stove, but the silverware and soap and sponge were handy. Did not use the plates and mugs but seemed they were in good shape. The bathroom tub a bit outdated. Our room was 1040 I think, and the tub faucet was leaking entire time. We tried tightening it and putting towel under to stop the noise. The ambiance of the place at night was awesome because you could see the stars, until our upstairs neighbor turned on their bedroom light with their fabric curtains wide open, it ruined the view. The proximity was good considering the amenities were sufficient, close to gas station if need be. The breakfast was not included in the room, it was $21 per person all you can eat, and for that price the food gave the same flavor as holiday inn included breakfast. The atmosphere was nice, and work tees were friendly. While the food looked fresh, it was eh. The sausages and coffee were probably my favorite and cereal. The eggs had weird layers. I would recommend for anyone looking for close logding with amenities. This is the second closest hotel besides the lodge inside the yosemite that I know of.
google avatar

Sandy F.

Yelp
The value was not there for the price we paid. Very disappointed in the amenities in the room. Kitchenette had sparse silverware, broken coffee, mugs, no napkins no paper towels & one dish towel. Trash can bag liner was so thin I couldn't throw the trash away for fear it would break on the way down. Sheets & pillows were yellow and dingy. Beds were clean, but mattresses were very used. Location is cool. Just outside the park and on Merced River. Nice little patio to enjoy the view. Disappointed park entrance was not included for price.

Yelp
We have been to Yosemite a few times. After camping within Yosemite, the second best place we have stayed is at this lodge: Yosemite View Lodge. This lodge is very conveniently located outside the west entrance in El Portal. It is merely a 20 minute drive from here to the park entrance. The lodge is a city on its own. They have a couple of swimming pools: one outdoors for summer and one indoors for winter. They have a huge gaming room with pool tables, arcade games, board games, TV screens, etc. There are two restaurants on site: a pizza place which is open till late and a dine-in restaurant which opens early for breakfast. They also have a well stocked grocery store to purchase any essentials like milk, water, etc. The lodge is just next to the Merced river and they have constructed a few benches and swings next to the river. The view is amazing from this place and is perfect for morning or evening walks. They also have few outside picnic areas for BBQ and ample parking spots. The room we were in was in Maple building. It was not well maintained and needed some TLC. But then we went to visit YNP and not for a vacation in a resort, so it was not a big deal for us. Our room had two queen beds, a small patio with table and chairs. Best thing was that they had a kitchennet with electric stove, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, small sink and fully stocked cabinet cutlery. The only challenge, in peak season it is very difficult to find reservations. So book in advance. Will surely stay here again. Their marketing line "If you are staying anywhere nearer to the park than here, you are in the park." is 100% true.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at Yosemite View Lodge from October 20, 2023, till October 24, 2023. We decided to come to Yosemite to celebrate my birthday, so we booked the King River View Lodge in hopes that we would get a room with a wonderful view. My husband even left a note on the reservation saying that it's my birthday, and that we would like to have a nice view. The room we booked is supposed to have a nice view of the river anyway. When we checked into our room I got pretty upset. My view was a bush! I'm not kidding. That's all I could see out of the window and from the balcony. Room number is 1083 so be aware of that room. First of all, we paid extra for a room with a view and that should be enough to get a room with a view. I don't think that a bush could be considered as one. Second of all, we even mentioned it in a note to prevent the exact situation we ended up in. It really makes me think that no one reads the notes and nobody wants to make sure that the guests have everything they desire upon their arrival. Of course, I had to go to the front desk and request a room change. They gave us a room on the second floor and we could finally see the river which was nice. Let's talk more about the room. Both rooms we were in were in bad condition. Not clean, the corners were full of dust, and the bed sheets had multiple stains on them. The bathtub/shower was so dirty that it was disgusting to even be inside of, plus the water pressure was terrible. In the second room we got, there was a spider web on the ceiling. Don't even think about walking barefoot on the carpet, my husband made that mistake, and his feet literally turned black from how filthy the carpet was. One of our stove tops didn't work and when my husband made a call to a receptionist, the lady just told him that some burners don't work and there's nothing they can do. So apparently they don't work in many rooms and the management just doesn't care to replace them. We had to cook on the smaller stove top and it took us a long time to even make scrambled eggs. When you get a room with a kitchenette, you expect to have the entire kitchenette function. The sponge and soap they provide you with are also terrible. The sponge doesn't scrub and is only good for about 5 dishes before it is completely trashed. The soap is almost all water and provides zero suds. Plus as everybody else and I will mention, Wi-Fi will cost you $10 per 2 devices for 24 hours. The room looked so different from the pictures on their website. We paid 339$ per night, and it was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Don't get your hopes up when you come here, you will be disappointed. Now let's talk about lost and found requests. My husband left his headphones in the room on accident when we left. We called Yosemite View Lodge, and they told us to fill out the form on their website, which we did the same day. On October 25, 2023, my husband was notified over an email that his headphones had been found and was asked for our shipping information. My husband gave them all the information they needed the same day, and since then there has been no word from Yosemite View Lodge. We have emailed them again and again, called multiple times and were told that there was no supervisor at the moment and they would give us a call back. They didn't. On November 5, 2023, I made them a call again and was finally told that they had the headphones ( we knew that already ) and was asked to confirm the shipping address again over the phone. What took them so long, why were they not responding or calling back? I would not recommend Yosemite View Lodge to anyone and will never come back here on my own. Stay away from this place, save your money and nerves.

Kregg M.

Yelp
This has to be the absolute best Hotel we have ever stayed. Our Room was directly next to the river and had a really nice balcony with seating overlooking the river.

Yelp
Nice, clean room, friendly staff and obviously great location! They have a new game room that added ample family fun opportunities including shuffle board, ping pong, pool and games.

Yelp
Very nice place to stay by the Merced river. Amazing view with restaurant, Pizza and market. Multiple pools with jacuzzi outside and jacuzzi inside the room with small kitchen and all needs. Good service a d friendly staff. Recommended best time to visit is in May! Very good weather and less traffic.

Location, location and location. 5 minutes away from the Yosemite National Park entrance is unbeatable. Yes the place could use a renovation and new furnitures but we have no complaints. This is our second time in this lodge because we liked it before. They don't have mandatory $9.99 daily fee anymore. They switched the program where it's your choice to purchase daily internet if you like to and it's done on your end with a third party internet provider. Yes the connection could use an improvement but it works and it does the job. We'll continue to make our trips here for the convenience.

Yelp
Boosting their ratings because this place was really way better than what people make it out to be! Check out their prices on hotels.com, you might be able to snag a better deal!

Yelp
I've stayed here multiple times in the past and always had a good experience. This time we went, cleanliness was not up to standard. We found a bunch of hairs on the bathroom floor. A sunflower seed on the table. That's just on the obvious surface that was visible. On the dark carpet? Hmm. Questionable. They obviously did not vacuum.

Yelp
We were looking for a dog friendly place to stay near Yosemite and YVL was perfect. It's a quick drive to the park entrance and about 20-25 to the Visitor Center. We kept our expectations at Bay since some of the reviews we've read beforehand weren't positive, but we really enjoyed our stay! First, I'd highly recommend getting a room with the river view. It's worth it! We would have a beer or eat some pizza on our balcony next to the raging Merced River. The Parkside Pizza spot onsite wasn't bad. The dining choices are minimal in the area but this pizza tasted alright! Our bathroom was huge and our room had a small kitchenette. Sure it sucked to not have free wifi, but it was nice to be not connected while enjoying the beauty outside. Also the pet fee is only $25 total.

Yelp
It's fine. Slightly outdated rooms for the price but much cheaper than in the park. If you rented a EV and it's not a Tesla, you will have to drive into town or into the park to recharge. Tesla chatgers only and they do not rent adapters. Not ideal at all.

Yelp
We stayed two nights when we were visiting Yosemite National Park. If you don't want to stay in the park, this is a great alternative with a lot of amenities. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from the park entrance and is along the river surrounded by granite rock. The room was spacious with tall ceilings. There are 3 pools and hot tubs to choose from. Fire prints and a bbq area if you want to use it. Also, a great game room with pool table, fuse ball etc. On the far side of the property by the river, there are three bench swings - great place for sunset! The rooms are slightly dated but given the location and the price vs staying in the park, it's a great place. We will be back. Also, bed are very comfortable!

Yelp
Unfortunately, I have to devote this review to the despicable behavior exhibited by the staff at the front lobby. It's location is undeniably beautiful--especially if you secure one of the rooms facing the mesmerizing Merced River--and almost everything else they offer is sufficient enough to warrant a positive review. Despite this the conduct of the staff at the lobby was unacceptable. They openly disparage their own guests in Spanish as if they're the only ones who can understand it. Even upon confronting their rude and abhorrent trash-talking, they stayed silent and refused to admit fault or any shred of sincerity. It's sad to write a review like this, especially as someone descendant from the same kind of people. I understand being stressed beyond wits during the holiday season--especially dealing with ungrateful guests who believe priority is a right devoted to only them--but this isn't the case. When all we are doing is checking in and they still feel the need to make incredibly insensitive remarks about their own perception of anyone walking through the door--its honestly really sad and disheartened me immensely. They need to better their hospitality training and humanity before I ever feel they deserve anyone else with respect stepping foot in this lodge again. Sad, do better.

Yelp
The actual hotel room was nice enough. We had a river view and jacuzzi in our room. But $700/night was ridiculous. And even more ridiculous? We had to pay extra for WiFi ($10). The room smelled of some sort of disinfectant and there was a dirty paper towel in the bathroom when we checked in. The chairs on the balcony were falling apart and we were nervous to sit in them. The location is great and the view is the river is nice. But would we stay there again? Absolutely not. Don't waste your money at the restaurant. The food was clearly reheated and served. The service was good though. The pizza restaurant next door did look good. We should have went there and saved some $. If you are reading this, it might be worth your time to stay in Mariposa instead.

Yelp
This place was quite a letdown given how much I paid for the one night I stayed here. It happened to be really warm when we arrived, even though it was February, and the AC unit was not working well so we opened the sliding glass door for some air. Turns out there was no screen door on it which I didn't realize until it started getting dark and the bugs started coming in because they were attracted to the lights. That meant I had to shut the door until it got so hot in the middle of the night that I couldn't bear it and had to open the door again. The AC is a wall mounted unit operated by a remote control that someone had tampered with so the display did not make any sense. The microwave time was zeroed out so we had to reset it in order to know time without checking our phones constantly. Because, guess what, there wasn't even an alarm clock in there. And our phones have no coverage and wifi is $10 a day. The sheets were thin and pilling which is kind of gross. The bottom of the bath tub was stained charcoal gray. There were brown rust colored stains on the wall next to my bed and holes in the walls that were never patched from when equipment or art was removed. You can also see the dust "footprint" from the item that was removed as that was never cleaned, either. And the grossest thing was the old sponge left behind for use in the kitchenette. I will never stay here again.

Yelp
6/28/23 - 7/1/23 I've stayed at Yosemite View Lodge several times over the years. The location is exceptional due to its proximity to the entrance to the park. Not to mention the Merced River flowing right under your balcony. Unfortunately, something has changed over the years. Our room was filthy. I had to clean the rat droppings from the cabinet. I cleaned the countertop and our small fridge on our first day. The carpet was badly stained. Our bathroom floor wasn't swept during the 3 nights of our stay. We let the front desk know. We were assured our room would be cleaned the following day. They only made our bed. On our last night, my partner killed a roach. It's unfortunate that they've let this play deteriorate to this condition. It used to be my favorite place to stay.

Yelp
We loved our location as its only 7 minute drive to Yosemite park entrance. This is the closest hotel to park thats not actually located within park confines. Our room (3333 maple) was nice as it has refrigerator, microwave and strong air conditioning. The bathroom is large. I did notice our bathtub faucet leaks even if you turn water all the way off. This should be fixed so precious water isn't wasted. Also the shower pressure is a bit slow so that could use a boost. The views are refreshing as there is a river right next to hotel and there are multiple pools indoor and outdoor. The pizza place at hotel is very good. There is plenty of parking and theres also workout room. Wifi was excellent but you have to pay for it (we paid $30 for 3 days). A nice bonus is that your room phone you can make any call in us for free because there is no cell service in area. I recommend getting the wifi. Landline Phone service from room doesn't need wifi.

Yelp
Great place if you only care about location. I asked for an ADA accessible room and was made to pay an additional fee, as if having a handicapped person in our party is a preference or a luxury. The restaurant and hotel staff is amazing, but the food is just ok. Breakfast was stale and cold when we got to the buffet at 9am. Our room had a kitchenette but we couldn't find basic things like a cutting board, and the coffee maker was extremely small and cumbersome considering it's a room that can fit up to 4 people. The TV also seemed outdated, and they make you pay additional fees to get WiFi. You're really just paying for location, seems like.

Yelp
Just finished a 3 night stay. Overall things were good. We loved the balcony over looking the river. We would leave the window open at night to hear it while falling to sleep. Property is very quiet. Room was clean. The down sides were, horrible water pressure, beds and pillows are uncomfortable, air conditioner did not work, they were out of coffee for the room, no smart tv, and lastly the food at the restaurant is pretty bad.

Yelp
I would gladly camp in the valley any day, but my lady is not a camper in the least, so she found us this lodge. For the price you pay, we found Yosemite View Lodge to be satisfactory! The rooms are spacious and seem clean when you get your room. However, your room will not be cleaned again until you leave, so both our rubbish and recycle bins were full during much of our stay (5 days), and we didn't get any new towels or sheets. The beds were pretty comfortable, allowing for recovery sleep from the action-packed days of Yosemite. Sadly, we did not get a room with a hot tub built in, and our tub shower did not drain well, so you do stand in a pool of water while you're washing the dirt off you in the evenings. The look of the bathroom sink and mirror was nice, though! The room has a kitchenette and a mini fridge that we definitely put to use for ramen, hot chocolate, pasta, and keeping a few items cool and fresh. It is a nice touch to be able to wash your utensils at the end of a long day of adventuring. Having a tv was also a plus, as the NBA was getting set for the play-offs. I was able to unwind in the evening with some basketball while she slept. We brought the Nintendo Switch dock, too, and were able to relax with some Mario Bros after strenuous activity of the day. Nothing compares to actually staying in the valley, but this was the next best thing, though it is expensive. The drive is very close to the west entrance of the park and sits along the Merced River. If you leave the lodge before 8:00 in the morning, then you can be in the park in less then half an hour!

Yelp
Lodge is very close to park entrance but expensive. Our room was $350 per night for 4 nights (Sept 2024). Bed mattress was old and sagged severely on one side. for first 3 days housekeeping never visited the room, even though we put out the hotel supplied "housekeeping please" sign. We left a day early talking to staff about the housekeeping. They apologized for the inconvenience and said they would refund the last day's charge. Never happened.

Yelp
The best part about this "glamping" lodge is its close proximity to Yosemite Valley. With that convenience comes a fairly hefty nightly price, but most would say it's worth it just to avoid the long drive. Other great things include being right next to the Merced River (we opened the door every night just to hear the natural white noise to help us sleep), having a small grocery store onsite for supplies, having both a formal sit down restaurant and a quicker pizza place onsite, having multiple swimming pools, a good amount of parking, multiple ice machines that actually work, and spacious rooms. Speaking of the rooms, they include a small kitchen with a stove/microwave/fridge, a balcony/patio, a jacuzzi tub right next to the bed (cheesy), two shower heads (cheesy), and A/C that works ok. Some complaints: the restaurant service was really slow, the water pressure in the shower was kind of weak, and the Wi-Fi isn't free. Overall, we'd stay here again. The pluses outweigh the minuses.

Yelp
Place was convenient. Booked this place since the Ahwahnee was booked up. River view room was definitely the way to go. Saw some bats flying around at night, which was cool. There was plentiful parking. The super large bath tub was a hit. Microwave in the room was good. They had a lounge room off the check in lobby with a bunch of cigarette cards on the wall; that was unique and interesting. There's a lot of pools on the property. Check in took a while, despite having a full staff. Having to pay Wi-Fi (for only 2 devices) separately was a chintzy and tacky move; they should just increase the price of the room to include it. I ended up paying for 2 Wi-Fi accounts since i had 3 devices. I would still probably stay here again if I could not get a room within Yosemite.

Yelp
I'm giving 4 stars. CONS: -Wifi - it sucks. Don't pay for it - just wait till you are in the park and can get service. PROS: -proximity to the park - about 5 minutes to the entrance and then another 15 to the valley -we drove our Tesla and just plugged in to the light posts - but the park does have some rivian chargers that you can park at for the day -we were upgraded to a family suit room. It was really spacious and nice - there was a couch tv, dining table, stove and microwave, and then our room was separate from that area with 2 beds. -lots of pools to choose from -we ate at both the restaurant and pizza place - not amazing, but not awful.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much after reading yelp reviews but the place is in a perfect spot near to Yosemite. Yes the furniture may not be Marriott standards but it's clean. Really appreciated having a refrigerator and utensils (plates, bowls, glasses, silverware). You can cook since there's a stovetop and pots and pans. The best feature was the balcony facing the Merced River and we could have a glass of wine and relax. A YARTS bus is available daily to take you into Yosemite. Their pizza restaurant was good and they have a general store with food. I recommend this place.

Yelp
A nice cosy hotel with amazing views and friendly staff. The hotel has a pizza place (for takeaway or eat in ) and a restaurant with great food for the whole family. Loved our trip would definitely recommend.

Yelp
3.5 stars, rounded down to 3 for some cleanliness issues. Staff super friendly and patient! This is our second visit here in two years. Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family! Checked in around 3PM but room not yet ready. So was able to obtain key cards to room so we can head into Yosemite Valley instead of waiting around at hotel. Rooms definitely need upgrade/renovations, especially for safety concerns. Besides curtains rods falling off, only 2 of 4 electric burners working on oven range, balcony railing loose and high potential for someone falling. No garbage disposal in kitchen sink, just a U-joint connecting plumbing to wall. Poor water pressure in shower; no hot water just warm. Also upon checking into family suite, saw the kitchen sponge was used with hair on the green scrubbing side! Thankful for regular sized refrigerator though! Close to Yosemite National Park entrance. Does YART have a stop at this hotel? That would be nice! Good game room, just need some open windows for a cool breeze or A/C. Otherwise, when there are a lot of people enjoying it, the temperature rises and it becomes muggy inside. Fun pools and jacuzzi! Thankful for free parking! We really enjoyed the River view from the room! Trance like and relaxing just listening to the water rushing down. It's not a trickle it's a fairly rushing River. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony observing the flora and fauna and wildlife! No wifi nor any cell service. That made communicating with family and friends difficult. Can purchase wifi for about $10/day for 2 devices. As for me, I was thankful husband and kids spent more time talking and playing card games instead of being on their phones! ;-) We had a great time!

Yelp
It's not often you stay in a room with no towels! I looked forward to a relaxing shower after a long day of hiking only to finish the shower and realize no towels!!! I had to use a combination of the bath mat and a small kitchen towel. When I called the front desk, the person was quite chipper and said they could bring me towels now. I told her it was too late and that I had already used the bath mat and kitchen towel. She couldn't have cared less. If you're looking for a hotel that can't even provide the basics, this is the place for you.

Yelp
During COVID, we stayed here for a couple nights in the Maple building and it was a cozy stay. The lodge was about a 30 min drive to Yosemite's park entrance which wasn't too bad. The Merced river was nearby and it was nice to walk over and hang out by the rocks after our hike at Yosemite. We didn't know the room would have a stovetop, toaster, and microwave in addition to the fridge so that was a nice touch. They provided utensils, pots/pans, and some cooking ware for you to use which made it convenient for times when we didn't get take out. The market they have at the lobby is pretty stacked with items you can either cook, heat up or just grab on the go. There's an indoor pool and outdoor pool here so I'm sure this place would be really fun to stay during summer time if/when they permit guests to use. The river is just right behind the lodge and you can do more exploring out there and have a picnic. Would definitely consider staying here in the warmer months and to help save a few bucks than staying at a hotel in Yosemite park.

Yelp
Check out the video walkthrough of this place on YouTube. The wifi gets charged extra $10 pp. Buffet breakfast is $25 pp. plenty of parking space. Dishes and cutlery pans etc are available in mini kitchen. Make sure you don't get lockedout the restrooms from outside. We had to call in maintenance to use a key a get access to restroom because we auto locked out when we closed the doors. Double check the latch placement when closing restroom doors. Press 0 in landline for access to reception.
