My wife and I stayed at Yosemite West High Sierra B&B for four nights and had an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, Karen, the owner, welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we affectionately started calling her “Mom.” She truly took care of us like family.||We stayed in the first room, and let me just say, the bed was *incredibly* comfortable. After long days exploring Yosemite, sinking into that bed was heaven after long days on the trails. What really set this place apart, though, was Karen herself. She spent hours with us going over detailed maps of Yosemite, offering insider tips. She even loaned us the maps, which made all the difference in how we planned our days. Thanks to her, we made the most of every moment in the park.||And I should mention the breakfasts. They were huge, hearty, and absolutely delicious! We didn’t need to eat again until dinner. It really helped us get the most out of our days without worrying about food. And finishing up on the deck watching the sunsets was the perfect ending to each day.||All in all, this was hands down one of the best places we have ever stayed. If you are visiting Yosemite, staying here will feel like coming home, with great breakfasts and a national park in your backyard.||Sarah and Chris

Staying in the park made getting to hikes early and not waiting in line to get into the park every day so much more relaxing. We stayed in the Studio Apt complete with a full kitchen, propane fireplace, bathroom and living area. We had everything we needed to make meals, relax in the evenings enjoying the gorgeous sunset and get a good nights sleep after the long hikes. Karen, the owner, will help guide you to the best hikes and suggest fun ideas around the park. We would definitely come back and stay here!

This is an amazing hidden jewel of a place to stay! It's off the beaten path, right inside Yosemite Valley and only a few minute drive to all the treasures that Yosemite has to offer. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated with a cool Western vibe. I watched a few sunsets from my deck! The owners have been there 25 years, and they know everything about hikes/rentals/activities, etc. which they are more than happy to share with their guests! The breakfasts are delicious and more than adequate to fill you up before a long day. I am definitely staying here again soon!

Yosemite West High Sierra Bed and Breakfast is an absolutely amazing place to stay! It's inside the park and only a few minutes to the Valley. The sunsets are incredible, and the rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated with and relaxing Western vibe. The owners have been in the area for over 25 years, and they are personable and extremely knowledgeable about all activities/rentals and events in the Valley. The breakfast food is excellent, and the owner gives generous portions. I highly recommend Yosemite West as a perfect place to stay while visiting Yosemite Valley!

This was an absolutely wonderful location to enjoy your stay while visiting Yosemite National Park. Karen, our host, along with her daughter Ali, are the best. They are kind, full of local knowledge, and welcoming. The accommodations are clean and well kept up. Breakfast is served family style with most guests joining around the dinning table to share their experiences in the Park. The food was really good and plentiful. Be sure to ask Karen or Ali about what to explore in the Park. Glazier Point, a must see, is close to the B and B. I would caveat one item. To get to the third floor, where the rooms and dinning/living space is located, prepare to hike up the 80+ steps on the stairwell. If you have mobility issues keep this in mind.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Arrived to the B&B late and Karen still made sure to stop by to say hello and help us with our plans for Yosemite. The room was very clean and tidy. Bed was extremely comfortable. The shared spaces was cozy and perfect. It had everything that you’d need to feel just at home. Karen and Ali were great hostesses and overall great people to meet. Our experiencing Yosemite could not have been any better had it not been for them. 100% would come back here again! Wishing them all the best!

Our host Karen was Sensational!! |An extremely knowledgeable local guide whose experience provided vast information and tips for amazing dining experiences, outings, and adventures. |This information including a stunning place to propose to my fiancée. (She said Yes)||Karen's hot delicious breakfasts were comfort food at its best, including Dutch baby pancakes, frittata, and hot coffee. |We enjoyed many delightful conversations and breakfasts with Karen during our stay.||The accommodations were comfortable and the setting was serene. Our suite provided a king bed and ensuite bathroom. There was an additional twin bed in the space if you needed it. The room was cozy and well appointed. The bed was solid and the mattress plush. Restful slumber awaits.||The location of the property provides a stunning sunset view from the third floor deck. This also served as a nice quiet sanctuary for our morning coffee.||This property is minutes from the Tunnel View entrance at Yosemite and closer still to Glacier Point Road. It allows easy access to Yosemite Valley, El Portal, Mariposa Grove, and Oakhurst. ||We will definitely be back. What a treat!|Thank you Karen for being such a delightful host.

Yelp
Unfair, beware !! I read the reviews. Like others who have chosen this b&b, I was attracted by its close proximity to Yosemite NP and others who spoke of their great experiences. I called Karen in Sep 2019. She really was knowledgeable and convinced me hers would be a great place to stay to experience all of the park. She even talked me into extending my stay with her a couple of days instead visiting a different park. I decided Yosemite would be the centerpiece of my bucket list trip to CA National Parks and sent Karen the $2,300 nonrefundable deposit. Fast forward to April 2020 and the Covid pandemic. CA was under mandatory shelter in place orders, Yosemite and other NPs were closed and the Mariposa county health dept. had issued a public order restricting hotels/B&B from operating. So Karen's establishment was not even going to be open for business during the time of my planned May stay. Reluctantly I cancelled the entire trip and asked for refunds; got them from everyone but Karen. Since that time I have pursued the issue with her on several occasions. She has not budged on returning any part of the $2,300 nor given me another workable remedy. She kept all the money for no services rendered. I hope to make the trip to CA once it's safe to travel again. When I do, I will not be staying with Karen. If you decide to book here, do so at your own peril.

Yelp
We spent 4 nights at the B&B and the space is perfect for a family with 2 kids. The location of the B&B is AMAZING - you are inside the park and 20-30 mins drive away from most of the attractions! The other bonus is the host Karen, who has lived in the park for decades. Karen would spend 15-20 mins with us each night and help plan our next day - this along was invaluable to ensure we saw all the best parts of Yosemite. Karen and her daughter were also very helpful advising us on what to bring with us, where to buy groceries etc. and answering any questions prior to arriving. If you are visiting Yosemite, 4 days was perfect and you can not go wrong staying with Karen. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The Yosemite West High Sierra Bed & Breakfast is a highly recommended option from the hustle and bustle of the Yosemite Valley. The rooms are clean and Karen, the host is great. Karen takes the time to sit with you and help plan our your days - here knowledge of Yosemite is invaluable. As amateur hikers, we were taking a 4 day wilderness hike to climb half dome and also wanted to take in clouds rest. With Karen's help she suggested changing our planned itinerary to make the hike as enjoyable as possible - and was she correct. Thanks again Karen!

Yelp
Karen and her daughters Ali & Christine are fabulous! After staying at 3 B&Bs in California before arriving to High Sierra for the last 3 nights of our honeymoon, we couldn't have been more surprised at what a wonderful place it is! Breakfasts were amazing - there's always a hot meal, along with freshly made coffee, fruit, bars for the day, cereal, yogurt, etc. Ali & Christine are so polite and accommodating. You can tell Karen & her daughters take pride in their home and want their guests to be comfortable and thoroughly enjoy Yosemite. She made sure we had our days planned before we headed out, and gave us great tips like where to park, what to see, how to avoid the crowds, etc. Karen is a wonderful resource to learn about Yosemite and how to most enjoy your stay. She also had DVDs about the park we watched in the evening to learn more about Yosemite. She is super helpful, and even let us borrow her hydroflask water bottle and art supplies for an art class. It was beyond our expectations and we'll definitely be back in the future! Was the perfect way to end our honeymoon :)

Yelp
I've never experienced worse! I had a child and a pregnant wife with me, we brought food and we weren't allowed to use the microwave, sitting right there in front of us? Rediculous rules, mean female owner.

Yelp
Great location... Easy to get to the Valley, Glacier Point or Wawona..Karen and her daughters were great hosts...Their knowledge of the park and their tips were very helpful in avoiding crowds and seeing some 'off the beaten path' spots.... watching the sun set from the third floor deck was the perfect ending to a perfect day... Highly recommend.

Yelp
High sierra is too far from yosemite. Map says 10 miles but neglects the switch backs, barely paved roads and reduced speed. Spent an hour driving this "ten miles". Avoid the high sierra resort campground. Pool for country club and used by bar staff over patrons. We were guests but asked to leave if campers. Check in staff says can use but resort says no. Bartender had swimsuit on and closed at 4. Said campers are not welcome as we are not members. Guess a 100 k motorhome is not worthy? Stay closer... Very deceptive distance and amenities.
