Absolutely amazing. 10/10 in every way. They pick you up on the cliffside and drive you down to the Ryokan at check-in time. Everything is traditional Japanese and the property is simply beautiful. Private hot spring bath on the balcony in my room. I was treated with the utmost respect, and their customer service, down to the last staff member, was exceptional. Dinner was an 8 course, curated meal by the chef. Included the most amazing local delicacies, as well as the chef's twist on traditional Japanese fare. Breakfast was very similar. Both were served in my room, and Han, my server/hostess was amazing. Absolutely glowing review for her! Wish I would have been able to spend more time at this property; it was the best place I stayed at in Japan and worth every dollar. -Alex

This is a remote location yet a very special place. Only 14 rooms on the rugged coast at the tip of the Noto Peninsula (north of Kanazawa). This is a beautiful complex with refined service. The food was exceptional—both visually and to taste. Private onsen, in room onsen, lots of options. We had the most delightful and relaxing stay. Highly recommended if you can afford the time to get there and the expense.

We booked this extraordinary onsen hotel for birthday celebration. Service was excellent provided by the receptionist Hang. She was doing an excellent job from welcoming greeting to check out. She explains every single dish on the table during dinner time. A surprise gift was prepared and given to me at the end of dinner. The dinner menu was well organized from the appetizers to the dessert. Overall experience was outstanding.

This is not a review of the ryokan because the intended stay with my family of 5 is in December. But I would like to share the very pleasant experience of my email correspondence with Ms Miho Sada of Lamp No Yada.|I had read Tripadvisor reviews that raved about the accomdation, food and hospitality at Lamp No Yada. I was excited by the idea of splurging on one night's stay at this "luxury rural sanctuary retreat located on the very tip of the Noto Peninsula".|However, for the date I have chosen, only the more pricey rooms are available and they are way out of my budget. |Ms Miho was very kind and helped to search for cheaper rooms available two days before my chosen date. But that date did not fit into my schedule. She was very polite and expressed her wish to meet next time.|We exchanged a total of 13 emails in 10 days. I am impressed by her promptness in reply, her helpfulness and the fact that she continued to be very respectful when I told her that the rates were beyond my budget.|I would like to compliment her for her excellent work attitude.

I and my wife stayed for two nights. We have great food and good hospitality from very kind staffs. They also arranged a good driver to guide us sightseeing in Suzu and Wajima. Thank you the team of Lamp no Yado! We plan to come back again! 誠懇的建議大家,有空來享受享受!

Exquisite dinner. You get dishes and local produce that you wouldn’t get elsewhere. Most comfortable bed I slept on for days. Love their pillows that seem to be filled with grains. Provided very good support for the neck. Mattress was firm and comfortable too. Best rest I have had Amon the Ryokan. It caters to the well heeled but you get the value you pay for. Highly recommended.

Lamp no Yado is situated in a rocky cove surrounded by high cliffs at the end of the Suzu peninsula. It requires some effort to reach if you don't have a car. We took the bus from Kanazawa (3 hours in a comfortable coach), and were met at the end of the line by a taxi, which drove us another 30 minutes to the ryokan. It was worth it. Our standard room was quite large, with its own private bath on the terrace, but we were upgraded our second night to an incredible duplex that was perched right over the waves. The original building is over 500 years old, and the inn has been in the same family for 14 generations. Exquisite, delicious kaiseki dinners and elaborate Japanese breakfasts are included. The staff was delightful, and we had no problems communicating. Especially helpful was Tatsuki, a young man who has spent time in the US and has a good understanding of English. We chose to stay two nights, and we spent the entire second day relaxing in the various baths and staring at the waves. The ultimate spa vacation. We've stayed in various onsen ryokan in Japan, and this was one of the most special experiences.
