Stayed one night in late September 2025. We brought our three kids, ages 12, 8, and. 6 with us who absolutely loved it. The gardens were amazing, nice to walk through and relax. Plenty of photo opportunities. The front desk was kind enough to give me a tattoo cover for the hot springs. All five of us loved the hot springs. It was very peaceful using them at night as we had them all to ourselves. No other guests were around after 8pm. It was also interesting sleeping on the traditional bed mats. They were very comfortable despite being on the ground. The rooms do smell like grass as much of the room uses woven grass architecture. I would normally have allergies to such things, but I did not have any problems. The staff was nice and there were some shops and restaurants you could easily walk too.

We stayed in a room with two singles and a private onsen. The private onsen was LOVELY. I now dream of having one in my own home. It was such a great break from the hustle and bustle of travel. The public onsen was also breathtaking, particularly the outdoor onsen for women. The staff were very kind and helpful with all of our questions and needs. I could spend hours in the garden attached to the hotel. It was gorgeous, especially in the fall with the leaves changing colors. My only complaints about the hotel are the following: It felt like it could use a little update. Things were a bit outdated and the rooms were a little dark, but honestly the garden and the onsen made up for it. I also wish it had been a bit more clear that the breakfast was a very traditional Japanese breakfast with no western options. One of our party was vegetarian and the breakfast doesn't leave many options for vegetarian diners. I should have asked before booking, but I'd never been to Japan before and didn't know what to expect.

This is the heaven on earth. We spent one day in the modern style Japanese room with bath and it was the best hotel experience so far in my life. The onsen was very hot and not crowded, room spacious and the dinner high quality 6 or 7 course dinner. The fatty tune was 🔥.I also truly adores relaxing atmosphere of the hotel. I would be so glad to come back. Additionally, this hotel has its own small shop with food, drinks and souvenirs and spa with massage. Better reservations in advance for better price

Incredible hotel in a beautiful spa town. It has stunning gardens and a wonderful onsen which was great for my first time. Make sure you wash your body at the wash basins in the indoor pool room. But then it’s so luxurious being in the indoor and outdoor mens pools naked. Very inclusive for westerners of all shapes and sizes. Our room was stunning too. The service and amenities are first class. Sadly we didn’t do the meal package as it doesn’t cater to vegetarians.

Hotel isn’t too bad. We had the Japanese style room which was very big and spacious, however there was a smell in the room. Sleeping on the floor and hurt your back a bit. Our room was the furthest away so had a bit to walk and take couple of lifts to get to the main reception. Staff were friendly and greeted when leaving and entering the hotel and when walking through the hotel. Beautiful scenery around the hotel, made you feel like you’re in a jungle. Tried the private onsen which was lovely but gets very hot.

It was my first Ryokan experience, so not sure my praise is too valid. This was an astounding experience. The service from the staff was impeccable. They spoke quite good English as well. The room was a stylish and large traditional japanese tatami mat room, and with a great view to their amazing garden. The garden is a sight to behold. Take a stroll before and after sunset to see the visual in both cases. The Onsen was also one of the nicer ones I've been to. The hotel feels old, because it is. But it wears it with grace. You won't miss for AC or other amenities. Just enjoy a classy Ryokan

The hotel has a magnificent garden. I have never seen such a beautiful garden in my life. The Japanese are at a different level of gardening. I have seen many beautiful gardens in Europe but Japan is very, very good at it. Very natural, very peaceful, very calm. The garden looks natural and a bit wild, but at the same time it is well organized. My congratulations and respect to the person who is the architect of this wonderful state of the garden. He obviously puts a lot of effort into the garden. When we were there, he was working on the lawn and he was doing it with great care one by one with the garden shears. Again, I thank him for this magnificent garden. The pool outside as an onsen is magnificent. You should definitely go in and try it. Very clean and beautiful. If you have time, I suggest you have a massage. The massage lady is an expert. I was so relaxed during the massage that I fell asleep 3 times:) Make a reservation with a meal and have a full Japanese experience. It's delicious. It was a pleasure to stay in a Japanese style room.

We experienced a very good 3 day stay at this hotel. Staff was very kind and helpful - and especially the people downstairs serving the bathroom were so kind.|Would definitely recommend to at least stay here for 2 days. ||Please note, we had breakfast and diner included, but this is very Japanse and even my Japanse friend told me that this is not typical Japanse food.|As a result, this didn’t fit our overall tastings - would recommend to do this once for the experience - in addition to, it is expensive too.
