Hidden Gem and in my opinion, best thing to do in Nara.
Most people come to Nara to see deer. I am not so much into animals, as I am peaceful and relaxing experiences. I had Isuien garden on my list to visit and just my luck, it was closed on the day I went to Nara. I discovered this garden right next door and went. For some odd reason, they require you to show ID and prove you're a foreigner, I obliged and my mother and I spent about an hour here, just taking in the beauty and nature of the area. It's a great spot for meditation or just relaxing and in contrast to Isuien, is free for Gaijin. My favourite spot in Nara.
