I had my first ever omakase here at Youmiko after hearing how it was the top sushi spot in Krakow and I had a wonderful time. It was a relaxed atmosphere and I had time to chat with Jakob, our sushi chef, and observe his techniques as he presented each creation. Every single one was delicious, but most of all the flame-grilled salmon - just buttery smooth. The quality didn't disappoint, and I could see why they'd earned their reputation as the best. A terrific meal all around and a great connection with the friendly master chef, who even gave me a few recommendations for other spots to try in town. Thanks for a great evening!

Intimate place with absolutely delicious and clean tasting menu. Omakase is a must - brilliantly paced, directed by the attentive and knowledgeable waiting staff to take you through a journey of taste. It was our second time and equally great. Will be back and would recommend to anyone. It's small (and that just adds to the experience) so do book ahead and get carried away!

Hands down one of the best sushi places in Kraków. Every bite was flavourful, the fish was fresh, practically melting in your mouth with a buttery texture. Love the concept and the creative bites I’ve tried here, looking forward to coming back!

Lately, I’ve been in my sushi era and trying to discover good spots around the city. While I haven’t tried many yet, I think I’ve started on the right foot. My latest visit was to Youmiko, and it turned out to be a genuinely good experience. We ordered the omakase (9 portions, totaling 30 pieces), and I was impressed not only by the flavors but also by the pacing as each portion arrived roughly every 3–4 minutes, which was ideal. I liked every single portion, but my favorites were: -the one topped with onions, -the roll with a slightly longer nori wrap, and -the salmon piece with additional salmon on top. The place is quite small, with a few extra tables downstairs, so I highly recommend making a reservation through their website or by phone. Cleanliness was top notch for real that is probably the best I’ve seen in town, including the restroom. While I was very satisfied with the food, I want to be fair in my review and mention that I experienced a slight stomach discomfort later that evening (a bit of a heartburn). I'm not sure if it was caused by the meal or something else, so I plan to revisit to confirm. That said, based on this first visit, even though I don't consider myself an expert in Japanese cuisine or sushi, I can definitely recommend the place. Looking forward to updating this review after my next visit. Thanks to the team!

Google
Highly recommend the omakase experience. We’ve tried many different vegan sushi spots in many countries (including Japan) and this place is truly the best. We sat at the counter because we didn’t make a reservation, but it just enhanced the experience. Each dish was explained and well crafted using seasonal ingredients. My partner has a whole new mindset towards beets! If I come back to Krakow, this will be my first stop.

We were very excited to visit this place after seeing the glowing reviews and booked for my husband's birthday. Whilst good, it didn't quite live up to the hype. We had the vegan omakase for 2. All was served very quickly but in comparison to other vegan sushi places we've been, it lacked a bit of wow. It was nicely presented with good variety but missing some extra wow factor. The oyster mushroom one was probably the most memorable. Ice cream was delicious though. Good service as well. All in all a good experience but not the best as I had hoped.

Google
I was expecting more for the price .The concept for degustation set is cool, but the price seems a little high compared with quantity of components and sushi. The service was pretty decent but always in a hurry ,that I hadn’t even gotten my glass of water . Maybe I will come to try some nigiri, which were the best among the others.

Google
It’s the service, it’s the presentation and, most importantly, it’s the taste. 👌 Everything was great, the selection of sushi was diverse and most certainly delicious. The vegan options were not only as great as the meat and fish, but often outclassed them. The chef creates a handmade combination of dishes for each customer as well as keeps in mind your allergies and preferences. You feel great dining here. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
It was my last day in Kraków and I desperately wanted to try some sushi before leaving. Youmiko starts at 2 p.m. and I was the first customer ready for "the best sushi ever!" When making the reservation, I wanted to have a nice table, and be sure that I was expected right after opening. The restaurant is tiny. With four small tables at the ground level, and a small room in the basement next to the restroom, it could be a crowded dining experience. The bar is too narrow with uncomfortable-looking seats to be an attractive option, at least for me. I was on time. I immediately noticed that the server had an attitude. She was nonchalant, and not particularly friendly. It was the opposite of any experience I'd had in any Japanese restaurant before. I chose the omakase, which has fourteen pieces / 7 courses. As I sipped a Sapporo beer, I was excited to sample what this place had to offer. The clubbing background tune wasn't the best choice for an early, hot and lazy afternoon. The first bite was the 'European Sea Bass Nigiri'. It was served with way too warm rice. When I picked it up it fell apart. Right after that I got a 'Seared Salmon Belly Nigiri', and again, I didn't like the rice at all. 'The Spicy Tuna Gunkan Maki' was tasty and refreshing. I also thought the 'Salmon Cake' was delightful. The 'Eggplant and Avocado', could be an excellent vegan choice. Next, three pieces of 'Salmon with Passion Fruit Hosomaki' were just fine. The last six pieces were 'Shrimp Tempura Futomaki'. It was very good, but I wouldn't expect that with any omakase. It was just too ordinary and nothing special, plus not what I would order in the first place. Perhaps my expectations were too high and anything other than omakase on the menu would have been more satisfying. Also their rice was a failure. I assume, coming right after opening wasn't the best idea. The price I paid was rather high considering Polish realities. Plus the quality of service didn't help to feel good about the whole experience. I tipped, but didn't hear even a little 'thank you' or anything when I was leaving the restaurant. I'm not planning to return anytime soon.

Yelp
I have visited Kraków multiple times during my time in Poland and typically when visiting Kazimierz I have to have a zapikanka, because they have the best in Kraków. But now, I have to have sushi when I go to Kazimierz. Youmiko Sushi was honestly a last minute decision made between friends for a place for dinner. Finding the restaurant is a little bit on the harder side, but that is typical in Kazimierz due to the somewhat narrow streets and crowded sidewalks. Upon entering the restaurant you're welcomed directly to the chefs working swiftly behind the bar. It may seem a bit crowded, but this may be due to the need for social distancing standards in place due to COVID-19. Our group arrived for our reservation at 18:30 (Making reservations is highly recommended!) consisting of two meat eaters and one vegetarian. We ordered the dinnertime tasting menu for 100zł and one 40zł menu for our vegetarian friend. The tasting menu was made in front of us at the bar by a very friendly chef who explained everything he was preparing for us and even explained to us their in-house rules on how rice cannot sit for more than 3 hours or it will not be used, or how there is never frozen fish and only fresh fish is brought in daily. Fresh fish definitely makes sushi. The sushi was fresh tasting and vibrant, there was no need for soy sauce or wasabi ever, even the vegetarian sushi prepared was delicious. I highly recommend Youmiko for its quality food and the entertainment supplied by the chefs.

Yelp
Definitely it's the best sushi in Kraków. The place is small and cosy, probably around 15 people can fit - because of that the sushi chef can focus on preparing the food. I have been there 3 three times, at each of the visits I have ordered "omakase". During omakase the chefs serves their choices of sushi - I have never been disappointed! On Sundays they serve only vegan version, because they want to make sure that their fish is fresh - that's great! I will definitely come back when I will be in Kraków again :)

Yelp
They have good sushi, fresh but their lunch menu is very confusing and very limited. It doesn't explain what each roll consists of. Not many options, we basically had to take multiple of the same rolls as you can't order from dinner menu, just lunch. We waited so long for each roll, there were 5 of us and we got one roll every 20 minutes. They were quite busy, but having one guy making food no wonder the wait time is so extended. The place is very tiny and has little room to sit, so make sure you make a reservation.

Yelp
Had an incredible meal at this gem of a hole in the wall! I loved my vegan selection and the miso was amazing ! So many creative alternatives which tickled my palette and made me smile. Best to book, as we had to take a walk whilst waiting for a table to free up.

Yelp
By far one of the best sushi places I have been to. Very fresh and delicious, creative sushi plates. Perhaps the menu can be more clear for the non-sushi experts, however it seems like whatever you decide to order, it will exceed your expectations of this hidden gem in Kraków!

Yelp
This is the best sushi place in Krakow. Hands down to Youmiko for the focus on a quality! Don't expect usual "roll" experience. Go there with the open mind. So what that they don't have tuna, but they do the best lemon zest seabass I have ever eaten. And salmon torcik oh my goodness!! You need to try that! We come back there again and again and it will be always on the top of our sushi spots. Please don't change Youmiko, you are the best. The freshest fish, friendly service and yumminess all over. Cut them slack when they are a little slow sometimes. This is how Europe operates ;)

Yelp
The best in Krakow. You can always challenge so go and try! Their vegan aubergine rolls with avocado is a master piece. I loved the maximus and the salmon tatar. The staff is super nice. Reservation is a must!

Yelp
I was surprised that the omakase menu was so delicious and cheap! The rice of the sushi has the right amount of acidity which really enhances the flavour of the fish and the sushi as a whole. Half of the items in the omakase menu is traditional sushi and the other half is sushi with western twist. The traditional ones are really good, the western style ones are fun to eat but I think they need to improve its flavour more. I will definitely recommend this restaurant. 4/5

Yelp
This place is so weird. I came here a few years ago on a whim with some friends. It was difficult to find since it's tucked in a courtyard ans you have to walk through another building to find it. We came during a time when a group of med school students had either just graduated or finished some huge test. Anyway, these ladies were going wild looking to get super drunk. They had rented out the space minus the bar area. Now, I don't think they serve alcohol (or at least I don't remember that they did), but these doctors brought their own. The owner/chef let us sit at the bar and asked us how much money we each wanted to spend. Then they gave us a bit of whatever they were making at the time. We had about five different types of sushi and they were all amazing. One even had pomegranate in it? Anyway, you wouldn't expect a sushi place this eccentric in the middle of Krakow. We were all very pleased and left full. The doctors were awesome, too. They led us in the right direction to our next location: the bar.

Yelp
I would have been open to a better review had I received better service, or even served any food. My family was shooed away twice rather rudely from this restaurant, once during lunch hours and once during dinner hours (in which we had returned after being denied entrance the first time since they were still preparing fish although it was during their opening hours). We arrived at 1330 and they told us to come back at 1500. The employee which informed us of the preparation requirement was rather nonchalant and gave us not much attention implying to just "go to another restaurant" and not bother him. We didn't want to wait until that late for lunch so we came back for dinner around 1900. We tried to stay understandable and polite but the unapologetic and rude employees told us there are no tables since we didn't make a reservation. It would have been nice to have been informed of the mandatory reservation the first time we had arrived. Beware of very unkind employees and "fish preparation time!"
