Young Female Farmers

I most recently purchased collard greens from Young Female Farmers. They were delicious—young and tender leaves. Margo picked them the morning I got them, so they were ultra fresh. The products I’ve purchased at Young Female Farmers have all been fresh and delicious. I highly recommend anyone who likes fresh produce at a reasonable price contact Margo at Young Female Farmers.

Young Female Farmers is my go to for my herbal remedies. I particularly like the bitter melon which I use as a tea and also a tincture. Margo includes detailed instructions with each order. I highly recommend them. I also use the Mullein leaf(pictured) as a tea.

I have a two part review and experience, so I'll make it quick! First, I went to the farm to take a 3 day plant-based medicinal course. I learned and was taught way more than what I expected. Margo, definitely dropped some jewels that you don't hear about to often. I like how she tailored the course based on my aliments and needs. I was actually sick when I took the course and struggled to make it each time, but my spirit lead me there. Each medicinal plant/herb were throughly explained. I felt like a mad scientist when I left. She also taught me how to make the tinctures, teas and oils as a bonus. I'm extremely excited to make a few things myself from my own garden. My other experience was being able to purchase the different tinctures I needed based on my aliments. I left with Yellow dock and Mullien tincture in which I have been taking for over 2 weeks faithfully. I also purchased some bitter melon, in which use in a smoothie each morning. Although, I'm not 100% percent better, I am 90% better and I literally haven't taken any medication, only the herbs and plants. I could go on and on, but one thing I want to point out, is that one of my main reasons of coming was to support a black-owned business and not only was it an excellent experience as expected, but Margo went above and beyond her call of duty as many African American women do, but not given the acclamations for :)

Love theYoung Female Farmers-they have a wonderful selection of seasonal fresh produce and canned goods. I was blown away by the flavor of some pear butter I purchased. Margo also has helped me with suggestions for cooking the fresh vegetables and with canning tips. The bread and butter pickles I purchased are delicious!

I follow this farm on social media (IG:@youngfemalefarmers) and noticed Margo had a bumper crop of jalapeños, on a whim I asked if she would consider mailing me a package of peppers (NY via Georgia)- she was at the post office in a flash! The peppers were S P I C Y, and I could tell, lovingly grown. Margo is knowledgeable but warm, and quick to respond to my many questions and queries. Do not hesitate! Get something fresh or pickled or decocted (she crafts herbal products too!) you will be glad you did💛

I love the Young Female Farmers! They have a beautiful farm full of delicious vegetables tucked away right outside of Athens. Some of my favorites I’ve gotten from their garden are okra, green tomatoes and pickles (that Margo pickles herself with all kinds of good spices!). I highly recommend contacting them on Instagram or stopping by their farm!

An experience that must not happen only once in your lifetime. This is Young Female Farmers. These amazing ladies are what hospitality is all about. They open their home, farm, and family in welcoming my family for a visit to their farm. The energy and spirit of the place was breathtaking. We immediately felt the calmness and calming effect of the farm just driving on to the property. And, as an added bonus we got to see what these ladies are doing on their farm. Outright brilliance is brewing on the farm of Young Female Farmers. If my family and I could, we would have tried to find a way to hide in the trees for a longer stay, but eventually we would have to come out to eat. My family and I are anticipating our next visit to Young Female Farmers. Just thinking about the tranquility of the place makes me want to pack up the family and return back as soon as possible. Kudos to you ladies, you are a gift that shall get better with time.

Where do I begin with just how incredible this family is? They are the kindest, sweetest, and smartest family that you'll ever meet. Their knowledge of agriculture is immense, yet they have this ability to explain things in such an understandable and digestible manner. I wanted to stay in their company all day. I'm an avid customer because the quality of their products is outstanding. You must try the Tinctures that they create. I swear these Tinctures got me and my family through Covid and I'm ready to stock up for the Winter. You don't know high quality agriculture until you've experienced a day with Young Female Farmers. Due to the God Given terrain that the farm rests upon, Young Females Farmers creates truly one-of-a-kind products. Farming is tough work but how they can manage to run such a supreme operation while still making you feel like you're having a conversation with your beloved family members, is beyond me. I recommend whomever visits the area to take a trip to their Farm and prepare to be in Awe. If you can't make it out there, then check out the products on their website.
