"Just a five-minute boat ride from St. Vincent, Young Island is both a private resort and the first in the Grenadine islands chain. Here, you’ll find a small, white-sand beach facing the channel that separates the island from the mainland. It’s technically for hotel guests only, but go for lunch at the very good beachside restaurant and bring your bathing suit—the resort won’t mind if you take a quick dip after your meal."

Young Island Resort, St. Vincent and the Grenadines - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Cast barely 600 feet from the island of St. Vincent, 13-acre Young Island couldn't feel farther from civilization. Twenty-nine cottages, all furnished with retro-Bohemian flair—lots of bamboo, wicker, and rattan, plus outdoor garden shower—have water views through deep tropical foliage. A swim-up Coconut Bar, just offshore is a fun excuse for midday tipples (try the Coconut Delight with local red rum). Saturdays are BBQ nights with a live steel band. Know that not all rooms have A/C, relying instead on large walls of louvered blinds, and none have televisions or telephones. Budget to add on lunch and dinner for an additional $150 per night above your room rate. Our top tips? A two-night tour of the Grenadines on a fully crewed yacht and a round of tennis atop the island with 360-degree views."

We recently spent a few relaxing days on Young Island, and over it was a unique and beautiful Caribbean experience — rustic, charming, and just the right kind of laid-back.|⛴️ Getting There:|Super easy! The boat transfer was less than 2 minutes — blink and you're there. Quick, smooth, and stress-free. It is about 20 minutes from the airport. |🏝️ Arrival Vibes:|We arrived on a Sunday at noon, right in the middle of a bustling Sunday lunch buffet. It was definitely hectic and crowded, so if you're looking for a calm first impression, maybe aim to arrive earlier or later on Sundays.|💥 Noise:|Heads up — there was loud music pumping from a bar/restaurant across the water until 4 AM. It was only that one night, but light sleepers, bring earplugs just in case!|🏝️ The Beach & Pool:|The beach was lovely, with clear water and always plenty of chairs available. The sand is more pebbly than powdery, so you’ll sink in a bit when entering the water, but still beautiful. The in-water bar wasn’t open during our stay (likely due to slow season), which was a bummer. BUT the lagoon-style pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens totally made up for it — absolutely gorgeous and super relaxing.|🍹 Food & Drinks:|Breakfast was included and delicious every morning. Definitely try the West Indian breakfast with fresh fish — so good! One day it included breadfruit which was a treat. Dinner was a 4-course experience that changed nightly and was very tasty, though a bit much for us (and at $70 per person, kind of pricey). The homemade bread selection is amazing. Luckily, you can order off the bar menu if you don’t want to do the 4 course meal — we had an amazing fish sandwich, and even saw the fisherman bringing in fresh catch! There are several restaurants across the water also. |🇻🇨 Service & Staff:|The bartenders were awesome — super friendly, skilled, and always ready with a smile. Shout out to James who always greeted us with some peanuts, Neil who made an awesome Martini, Josh, Ronny and Princess. Great island energy all around.|🛏️ Rooms (Cottages):|We stayed in Cottage 9 first. A rustic Caribbean-style cottage with AC, a private patio, and a heavenly outdoor shower. Loved starting our mornings with room service coffee and fresh bread on the patio. Our AC had issues that couldn’t be fixed, but the staff was great about moving us — and we ended up in cottage 6 with a private plunge pool, which was amazing. Highly recommend this cottage. Honestly, wish we had booked that from the start! The cottages up on the hill look amazing but be prepared for lots of steps. |🌟 Overall:|Young Island has a real castaway-chic vibe — not fancy, but full of character, friendly faces, and natural beauty. We left feeling refreshed and already dreaming about our next trip with that plunge pool!|🚕 Private Driver:|If you want to explore the island or need airport pickup I highly recommend Desci’s Taxi & Tours. You can find her on Instagram and Facebook.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to revisit this special island resort again this year when we spent a glorious 16 nights. This resort, expertly managed by the very hard working and personable manager, Bianca Porter is truly a special place to spend some time where you just slip into its calm and charming aura. We stayed this time in cottage no 11 which suited us perfectly; slightly elevated but conveniently located to the beach, bar and restaurant we spent many peaceful mornings and evenings enjoying the ambience from our patio. The cottage was very spacious with double bathroom sinks and a very refreshing outside shower!||The staff have to us become like dear friends or family who greet us so warmly and truly add to our stay and comfort. We enjoyed the lively discussions with the men operating the ferry who were always so helpful and efficient in all they do. I must give a special shout out to Hermus, Charles and Lennox.||The restaurant is always a pleasure with highly efficient and super friendly staff, delicious food and a spectacular setting to enjoy all meals.||For my husband and I Young Island is simply the best place to stay in St Vincent offering traditional Caribbean charm. I note at weekends the music booming across the water from the mainland but that is no reflection of Young Island who cannot be held responsible for that both with regard to the government’s seemingly relaxed laws in that regard as well as the fact that music will always travel across the water but for us it in no way discounts the comfort and experience had during our stay. So long as we can we will always aim to return to Young Island and are already planning our next visit!

My partner & I came here for our anniversary & the resort were aware but they did nothing at all baring in mind they advertise pictures whereby petals are spread on the bed with the words “happy anniversary”. It’s always the little things that count but here nothing counted. When we checked in & were taken to our room we were told we had been upgraded yet the room looked exactly like the room I had booked which was the superior cottage patio, sea view. The second day a man on the ferry who works at the resort recommended us to someone who could take us to Chateaubelair by boat. We did indeed listen to the recommendation & low & behold the engine broke 15/20mins into journey, myself & my partner were left stranded on some rocks while throwing our bags to each other from rock to rock, there was no land in view whatsoever. We gave the man 200USD & he gave us back 100USD which is not feasible at all. I tried to call the resort no answer, a family member from the US tried to call no answer, I then sent a message to the resort. 2.5hrs later I received a message back “what is your position now”. LUCKILY for us my partner has family from Chateaubelair & they came to get us. When we arrived back we noticed that all staff was made aware of our situation yet no one came to us for the duration of our stay to check on us as it was a very traumatic experience being lost at sea for hours! The resort boasts of a spa but this same spa has not been in use for a while & wont be in use for a while. This is false advertisement as we booked this resort for the privacy & the spa. The resort also mentions of a swim up bar but it’s basically on shore, this is due to a storm so it’s not their fault yet they shouldn’t advertise it because it isn’t even in use anyway. I also witnessed a staff member get frustrated with someone on the phone at reception which I considered as unprofessional as it was in front of us. Upon check out I queried these issues with the GM Bianca & she didn’t really let us talk instead kept on speaking over us & told us that we were upgraded but could not show me any pictures that proved what a superior cottage patio sea view (that we booked) & the “deluxe” room that we were apparently upgraded to. To be honest we were quite happy with the room we originally booked that we got so no complaints there but they shouldn’t tell us we’ve been upgraded when we haven’t. Bianca was very patronising & not very accommodating at all, she gave us 10% discount & walked off with no room for negotiation whatsoever. The West Indian breakfast was the highlight for us. BASICALLY AVOID THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS!!!

I visited Young Island today for their Sunday buffet lunch. Upon arrival we were given no clear instruction about how lunch worked. We noticed other groups being seated but no one came to attend to ourselves, with very slow waits for drinks service.|Food variety was good with access to breads, sides and meats. However I was appalled to find a stone in a slice of bread I was eating that I chewed down on. I immediately took it to a member of staff who apologised but no further action was taken. |Upon receiving the bill, I complained again about the stone and was told there was nothing they could do about it. I was finally offered a 10% discount however the staff were not helpful and were very unprofessional in dealing with my complaint.|Overall a negative experience on what could have been a lovely day for myself and my friends visiting the island. Young Island Resort fell far short of our expectations.

If I could give less than one star I would. The bartender over charged members of our group, refused to give print out, another member of the group ordered a drink but never received it, but tried to not only charge him for the drink he never received and also tried to charge him for someone else’s drink as well. Rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend Young island resort, I will never go there again and would encourage others not to as well.

I just returned from another amazing stay at Young Island Resort. I don’t care how many new hotels they build in St.Vincent, I will always consider Young Island Resort as my home away from home. |This is not a resort to visit if you are looking for brand new luxury, tv’s with netflix, nightlife, or pool activities. This is a place you go to when you need to unplug and RELAX. The cottages are charming and comfortable. I love the mini library. I also love the shutters that allow for cool island breeze and the sounds of nature. Falling asleep to the rain is 10/10. The outdoor shower is amazing! Who doesn’t want to bathe while looking out across turquoise water? This trip, I stayed in cottage 27 which is up quite a few steps but the view was absolutely worth it. The daily breakfast by the beach is delicious and the service is wonderful. I cannot say enough about the amazing staff we met. Everyone is quick to say hello and help out any way they can. The beach coconut bar is perfect for an afternoon drink and instagram worthy photos. If you can make the climb, head up to the top of the island for a 360 view and some tennis. The pool is always clean and cool, surrounded by beautiful trees. Writing this review is making me so sad that I am not still laying by the beach so I will end it by saying Young Island Resort is an amazing stay. Period. |Special shout out to Ms.Porter, the general manager who is a thoughtful and kind person. My cousin came by to say hello on the beach during my stay, and fell ill. She went out of her way to assist even though he was not a guest. Exceptional customer service. Kudos to Letitia at the reception desk, my favorite boatmen: Charles, Lester, David and Delroy, staff: MaryAnn, Jason, Katurah, and Donovan. There was one person whose name escapes me but my sister has dubbed him “the lizard whisperer” because he helped her get a lizard out of her cottage last summer.|Can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Just spent 1 week here. Don’t get me wrong as we enjoyed our stay, but this resort is 3.5 stars imo. Very dated, poor upkeep on the premises, average food quality with small portions and a bit overpriced. Maintenance has slacked overall. The pool was clean & warm, but in need of some repairs. One BIG complaint - on weekends the bars across the way are obnoxiously loud with pounding music until 4 AM for 3 nights in a row. Intolerable and you will not sleep. The potential here is great but they are missing the boat.

We had high hopes for Young Island Resort, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. The biggest issue was the General Manager, Bianca Porter, whose attitude was shockingly unprofessional—rude, unhelpful, and completely lacking in customer service skills. Breakfast was pleasant, but lunch was underwhelming. The buffet was limited, and asking for seconds seemed to bother the staff. It's a real shame, as the location has potential, but poor management and hospitality left us with a very negative impression. Not recommended.
