Young Safari Hotel

This is a dope place to go to if you are really on a budget. The rooms are clean, the staff is so friendly, and, the check in time is early enough so that if you are from Nairobi, for example and you arrive in the morning, you don't have to worry about what to do with yourself for the hours of waiting. I liked that the rooms have fans that help you avoid some of the Malindi heat. Only reason I've given the rooms 4-star is just how some colours on walls and floor leave soooo much to be desired.

I booked a room with a balcony but that was not available anymore so they gave me another room. This was ok for me as I stayed there only for one night. Friendly staff, Good wifi. With a motorbike taxi or Tuk Tuk you can easy go around. The room was very hot but there was a strong ceiling fan. All in all, everything was fine (for the price I paid).

i spent the night there last night and service was very poor, room was dirty and we weren't even provided with towels or bedsheets. We had to go to the main house to get WiFi password.The slippers I'm the room were of different colours and sizes. What's happening ?Management is sleeping. I come here last year and it was great , you should improve.!!!!!

Very cheap place with very nice stuff. Rooms are huge and with nice views. However, the place didn't look clean at all. Three major problems: WiFi didn't work despite it was promised in Booking, breakfast is not served despite it was promised in Booking, mosquito net doesn't save you.

I belive that rhw experience with this place highly depends on a room you get. I love the locatio of the place, it's very near to old town market with huge selection of fruits and vegetables, the beach is also in walking distance and it is surrounded by many small vendors selling street foods and snacks. I liked my room also, but when I took a shower I've founs out a first issue, blocked drain and it smelled horrible... during the night I had also problem with mosquitoes and in my room was no trashbin. Once tou come here just look around the room and try to choose the good one. In that case it is simple the best deal in a city. Otherwise you can be little bit disappointed. The cleaning lady here is very funny and helpful, speaks simple English but I loved her enthusiasm. The price is also unbeatable I saw room for 1000 kes, but I paid 1200 kes for a night.

The guest house is neat, affordable, clean well spacious and offers good service. It's geographical located well in within malindi Town, safe with cameras and clean tiles, water available, WiFi available and no extra disturbances, worth a stay for vacation purposes when visiting malindi.

With the $13 the problems experienced werent unfamiliar given the price. The net was full of holes with a whole bunch of mosquitoes in it. The room is spacious with a squeezed bathroom. The water literally comes from two holes of the shower and without pressure. No hot water as I was almost electrocuted by putting the heater on. There isnt any restaurant owned/managed by the hotel. They literally bang at your door in the morning for breakfast. Truth be said, the part it went alright was they asked what you preferred for breakfast and the food was well worth it. The location was perfect! Right at the city center and the place wasnt very noisy as anticipated. The flash was broken and the list continues...

Abu and family were wonderful hosts for our brief stay in Malindi, even transporting us to their favoured beach as they were heading there anyway. YSH is as fairly priced as one could wish for. Tripadvisor will only let me submit this if I reach 200 words, hopefully with this final sentiment I have.
