I was taken to this place by a local. The food was so good. The meat was so flavorful. I ordered the Big Al’ Bento. I got a very good portion of food for $15 and I also got a discount $5 for signing up. You can’t beat the price with this decisions food. The service is great. They were friendly and funny. Highly recommend for this place.

I ordered the butterfish laulau plate and really only enjoyed the pipikaula. The butterfish was mild and steamed in the taro leaves gave it a healthy and fresh taste but it lacked flavor. The lomi salmon was also meh. The poi however was rancid. I know some people like their poi fermented but it was just too sour to taste. The dining area is a little beat up but adds character. I probably won’t return with the abundance of choices on the island.

Stepping in this multiple award-winning iconic restaurant feels like stepping into a time machine. The place is filled with locals getting their fix of Hawaiian delicacies ranging from laulau to poke bowl. They are not pretentious, they know they serve good food and provide fast service. It might be overwhelming for tourists/newcomers because they won't be able to see what they are ordering but you can't go wrong with whatever you want to order. The decor also screams Hawaiian in a charming old school way.

Google
Young's Fish Market has my favorite poke. The fresh fish just melts in your mouth and the well cooked rice complements it perfectly. Other items at Young's are also good. I would highly recommend the Big Al's Bento which comes with all my favorite items that i would order seperately anywhere else. The price can't be beat with the combos either. I must also recommend the turkey tails which are so juicy and full of delicious sauce.

Google
I ordered kalua turkey for thanksgiving and I was totally disappointed that they gave me kiawe smoked turkey. I didn’t realized it was smoked turkey when I opened the foil to warm up on thanksgiving day! It was so dry and turkey gravy was awful. Was so embarrassed to serve my guests!

Laulau is the best here! Poi was fresh and poke was ono!!! Was not impressed with kalua pig. Go early because they run out of stuff by dinner time. They even ran outta rice when we went for dinner. There is seating, but booths are looking kinda rough.

Google
Been coming to Young's Fishmarket for years now! I am always happy to spend money here because the food is really good with pretty fast service but the seating is minimal. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the poke is always hit and miss and since it's so expensive I would hope it would be more consistent on flavor. The Kulolo is amazing!!! I will always come here for really ono Hawaiian food!

Google
Hawaiian food approved by Hawaiians! Never had anything less than perfection from Young’s. It’s our go-to spot when we need some good lau lau. Always juicy and tender, cooked to perfection, full of flavor! Their meal includes a generous portion of white rice, some pipikaula, and a large chunk of taro, as well as a small side of Lomi salmon. Very filling, you really get a Big Bang for your buck here. There’s also options for kids, even our excruciatingly picky eater (3 years old) loves the chicken long rice, and will eat the entire helping by himself! Easy for kids to eat, our 1 year old also loves the chicken long rice. It’s currently take out only for Covid, but well worth the stop.

Yelp
Thank you to whoever wrote that the beef stew is perfectly flavored at Young's. The last time I was sick, I had a craving for some homestyle beef stew and found this review, and decided to try it. I get the $16 big tub of stew and it lasts me several meals. I love the huge creamy potatoes, soft carrots that I mush into the rice, and fatty, fall apart meat. And yes, it's perfectly flavored! My favorite part is probably the gravy with rice. I definitely recommend it, and am already looking forward to treating myself to another stew soon! I've recently been enjoying the laulau plate too - I love the meaty pipikaula that it comes with and the huge laulau is really moist from the big fat (hey, I throw it away but it makes it so tasty!). I'm so sad that they closed the Kapolei location, but I hope this location sticks around forever!

Yelp
Was craving for some lau lau and Young's Fish Market delivered. Sadly, there were no fish options available when I went since well, it's a fish market after all. However, the Pork Lau Lau satisfied my cravings where I couldn't stop wanting more. The Lau Lau was cooked perfectly. The steamed taro leaves with the pork were all so tender and flavorful. There were some extra bonus goodies of grilled pork on the side as well. I had no idea that was going to be in there given I had also ordered a side of Char Sui Pork. The char sui pork was also just as delicious as you would expect. Endless bite combinations of the rice, mac salad, lau lau, char sui and grilled pork. Rest assured I felt like a beached seal afterward but hey, that's what vacations are for right? This place is inside a plaza with many other food and grocery options so parking typically can be scarce but there's a lot of turnover of people coming and going. This is a no-frills spot where you order and also and pick up your food at the counter. Just what I was looking for :)

Yelp
My family had Young's cater some laulau for my mom's 88th birthday. As usual, we ordered way too much. Not Young's fault, but the laulau was huge... that's a good thing. Young's made it easy to order and were very helpful. The pork laulau was tasty and tender. There were a few chunks of just fat, but we expected that... it goes with the territory and it's up to the person eating it to decide if they are going to chomp it down. You know who you are. No shame. We did get a few people who started to get itchy mouth and throat. I didn't, but a few others told me their mouth started getting itchy. Not sure if the leaves were undercooked for some but the itching didn't last long. All in all, good experience.

Yelp
Way better than the closed Kapolei location that was a disappointment. Decent Hawaiian food here although there is room for improvement. I ordered the Big's Al's Bento that included a Small Laulau, Kalua Pig, Pipikaula, Sweet Potato, & One Scoop Rice. Overall a decent Hawaiian plate for $15.75. The Kalua pig was good. The pipikaula was slightly on the tough side but ok. The large sweet potato was tasted good. My slight disappointment was that I was told a piece of butterfish would be included in the pork Laulau but I couldn't find any. The older gentleman had excellent customer service in explaining the menu items and answering my questions. This family business has that old school mom & pop feel. They won a a lot of awards over the years that are displayed on the wall. I'll probably be back to try something else.

Yelp
Based on the recommendations of my cousins, I stopped by Young's for lunch. Normally we go to Helena's for Hawaiian food but this was along my errand path. Some of the highlights that differentiated Young's: 1. More parking - Young's was located in a strip mall with other shops and restaurants so I had no worries about finding a parking spot around lunchtime. 2. Order at the counter - plate lunch or a la carte options. Open seating. 3. Portions - seemed more generous than Helena's. Definitely was full after the meal but this time I dined solo. 3. Taste - the chicken long rice was tastier here with a little more richness and color (maybe a little soy added?). Kalua pig was juicy and had a great smoky flavor as expected. Will return and try more of the menu.

Dana A.

Yelp
Our Sailor recommended Young's for lunch as soon as we landed. We all enjoyed the pork special and wow, it was a lot of food! The place gets packed too. I loved the dried pork the most. Great local place.

Yelp
I thought I reviewed Young's Fish Market before I guess not shame on me . This is my personal favorite Hawaiian food place . I've been to many Hawaiian food places and trust me Young's Lau Lau is Da Best . For one thing its juicey and lots of Luau's leaf and the there's a lot of pork inside and the Lau Lau is huge. Also they use butterfish. Other places don't use at all because it's very expensive or they substitute it with another fish Most places it's either dry or not enough luau leaf . Young's also sell Turkey Tail which is very good moist and lots of fat and meat . Young's fish market is located in the City Square shopping center right next door to Utage and across from Kamehameha Bakery. Young's also sell poke as well along with fresh Roast pork and char Siu. Service is friendly and quick . Support local

Yelp
I took advantage of an Aloha Friday Deal today with a $25.00 card and purchased 1.5 lbs of Char Sui Pork and a large container of Mac Salad. Great place to get local Kine grinds! I almost waited to long and gave away my other $25.00 card since it expires tomorrow and they are closed on Sundays! This local business has a few dining tables if you want to dine In. The walk in orders and to go orders are on opposite sides of the counter. Great local food!

Sean Y.

Yelp
Good quick service! Is the food the best? No. Is it good enough to fix a craving? Yes. Worth a special trip? No. Ordered a Hawaiian plate and a side order of crispy roast pork. The roast pork was fantastic. The laulau was dry. The lomi was ok. The pipikaula was ok. Overall a very ok place.

Yelp
So glad me and hubby decided to walk here from our place (4 miles round trip) because we sure did eat a lot!! The restaurant is a typical hole in the wall. It didn't look very clean. There was a bucket of dirty water and rags behind our table. I guess the regulars knew what it was for because I saw one couple wet a rag in the dirty water and go wipe their table down. Sorry folks, but if I wasn't starving, I would've walked out and went somewhere else. Anyway, the food was amazing. The price point was a bit high. Hubby and I each got a plate which was $24.50 each. It is a lot of food BUT I was able to finish it all and that doesn't say much because I usually can't finish a whole plate of food. You order at the cashier and pay then wait for your order. It's a no frills place so not sure why they weren't able to keep the prices down. All in all, it was good and nothing went to waste!

Yelp
I ask my wife if she wanted to have Hawaiian food for dinner. First choice is usually their pork lau lau. But I remember that tbey have a butterfish lau lau. Today I picked up butterfish lau lau. half a pound of squid luau. and a half pound of ahi shoyu poke. A little disappointed at the lau lau. The luau leaves seamed a bit salty. The squid luau was passable. It had very little squid and I didn't taste any coconut milk. The ahi in the poke had many whitish looking pieces. It didn't seem fresh. Is this one of the reasons the shut down the Kapolei location? I'll still go back for the pork lau lau. Hope what I ordered today was a fluke. Enjoy

Yelp
I love their Laulau so big and flavorful l. Everything is great got tripe stew never squid luau lomi salmon

Yelp
Turkey Tails sold here are what drew me here! If you are an Alicia's Market turkey tail patron, you'll love these turkey tails too. I come here when Alicia's Market is closed and need my turkey tail fix. It's also a lot easier for me to beat the 7pm closing time on the way home from work. I discovered this place a long time ago - like decades ago - but for some reason never found reason to be here until I read a Yeep's review for this place and realized the error of my ways. The person's review disclosed the Young's Fish Market turkey tails and said they are delectable! I agree! They are seasoned perfectly and are nice and tender, easy to bite into. Yes, there are bones but if you are Chinese and understand this connundrum, you will be just fine. They come in turkey tail size aka the turkey tail but you can ask to have them cut into bite-sized, small (long/narrow) or smaller chunks (large cubes). If you order by phone, they will want to cut them when you pick up so the meat won't be dried out. This place used to be a fish market but they discovered that their prepared Hawaiian foods were such a hit that they only focus on the Hawaiian foods. My other favorites: - Beef laulau - lots of luau leaves, nice size - Pork Laulau - lots of luau leaves, nice size - Roast Pork - scrumptious! - Kulolo - I used to salivate over this but found it contains petroleum-based vegetable oil so I no longer order it :( - Squid Luau - 0.25 or 0.5 lbs; very yummy - Pastele - I order these from time to time; tastes good - Chicken Long Rice - somehow I don't order this regularly; taste is very good - Poi - perfectly fresh - Lomi Lomi Salmon - tomatoes, onions, mixes well with poi! Haha! (Not supposed to eat it this way but it's my fav) Thank you to Young's Fish Market for selling turkey tails! I will be a forever repeat customer!

Yelp
Stopped in at Young's Fish Market and got the Big Al's Bento funny they call it that when it's a mini bento cause I can't see Big Al getting full on that, anyway although it was a mini Bento the mini Laulau and the portion of Kalua Pig was good enough to slate my appetite the laulau was tasty with good flavor and the Kalua Pig was good not salty as some places are. it was nice to have some Pipikaula in there which was tasty too, I enjoyed the sweet Potato chunk also. Parking can get a bit crowded during peak hours but can be found. I'm going to stop by again to have something else soon.

Yelp
Always my go to when coming home. Fresh and delicious! Please don't go anywhere, you'll be my first stop from the airport.

Shana V.

Yelp
I was in need of a quick, delicious lunch on a Friday afternoon. I appreciate that they are a counter service place. It's very causal, a little noisy, but the food is good.

Sammi L.

Yelp
Young's has one of our favorite laulau dishes in Honolulu - we always order ahead and pick up for family meals. Service is quick and friendly - we take away and call in our order ahead of time. We've heard great things about the butterfish laulau but it always sells out, so order/arrive early if you want to get it.

Edward M.

Yelp
SOME OF THE BEST BEEF STEW, CHINESE ROAST PORK AND CHAR SIU IN HONOLULU !!! If you were born and raised here I think you'll like the food here. The roast pork has crunchy skin and a nice amount of fat ... which keeps the meat really nice and moist. Char Siu is moist and flavorful. Beef stew is a must !!!

Jeremiah U.

Yelp
Young's fish market has been a long-time Hawaiian food establishment and still serving the best beef stew with the most tender and flavorful cuts of meat. From the laulau, pipikaula, kalolo, poké, and stews, they take pride in creating the traditional taste and flavor of Hawaiian food. Service is good and friendly staff members. Interior is cleaned and organized with plenty of booth seating. Payment -cash or credit Parking -private lot or street parking No restrooms

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my Dad's 92nd birthday! He wanted to eat good Hawaiian food. Lots of free parking outside. No handicapped parking outside Young's Fish Market. Bathroom is accessible by key only. It's next to Utage restaurant. We got there early, so there wasn't much of a line. Cold water is available gratis. Look for Orange Water jug and plastic cups to the side of the jug. Two ladies served the counter. The tables were not cleaned when we arrived. We sat at a booth with spilled liquid on the table. We wiped it down before eating our food. We later saw a young man come to wipe and clean the other tables. By now it was getting pretty busy for lunch. We ordered quite a bit. My dad took home leftovers. He enjoyed the food and so did we. I forgot to take a picture of Big Al's Bento. It's exactly as pictured. Small size lau lau, pipikalua, scoop of white rice, purple sweet potato and a serving of kalua pig. The beef stew plate was also plentiful and it came with Mac salad and a scoop of white rice. The chicken long rice, sweet pickled onions and squid luau were also delicious. I would've liked more coconut milk in the squid luau lol. Tip- fountain drinks are refillable. Bottled water and sofa are also available to purchase.

Staci F.

Yelp
Young's Fish Market is one of our very favorite places to eat! My boys and husband always order the combination plate and I usually order the Kalua pig plate. And of course, we get a side of char siu and poke on the side! The portions are super generous and food is always ono! Everyone is always so friendly - you feel like you are ordering from your Aunties and Uncles when you are there! We always eat in - always plenty of seating and super clean. I highly recommend Young's, you will not be disappointed!

Deb K.

Yelp
Always the first stop when back in Honolulu! Can't beat the fresh Hawaiian food! Poi was nice and cold and fresh as it was still sweet!

Troy E.

Yelp
Young's Fish Market is one of my favorite spots for Hawaiian food on the island. It is an essential stop for anyone seeking to experience authentic Hawaiian cuisine in Honolulu. The atmosphere at Young's Fish Market is casual and homely. It may come across as a bit older and run-down, but I mostly only care about the food when I go out to eat. The standout dishes are undoubtedly the kalua pig and lau lau combo plate. The kalua pig is prepared to perfection, with the meat being tender, flavorful, and smokey. The lau lau, is equally impressive, with succulent pork wrapped in taro leaves. I also love the pipikaula (smoked meat) and the lomi salmon. I pretty much only order this when I come here.

Deez J.

Yelp
This is where we get our Hawaiian food for years. Laulau is huge and tasty. Could be shared between two people. The leaves are undercooked sometimes though it depends on how you prefer the leaves. Pipikaula is tasty but little too hard to chew. Family members enjoy their Kalua Pig. It's a bit too "imu tasting" for me. This is probably the only place we get a hearty Hawaiian meal from.

Yelp
We wanted to take advantage of Rewards offer BOget 1 @ 50%off. My wife and I Arrived @ 6:00pm with the thought of enjoying our dinner out. Tables were empty, cleaned up, no more food in the steam table. We were standing there maybe 5 minutes We asked if they were still OPEN, the lady said yes - for to go? So we decided amongst ourselves we would take it home. First Request- Beef Stew - Sold Out Next request- fish - No more fish Finally we asked What do you have available? Girl asked if we like cold to re-Heat at home. We said yes. Long rice Tripe stew Butter fish Hot rice / Lomi salmon Potato Served to us in plastic containers. We appreciated SENIOR discount. Traditional flavor of Young's FM. It was good but now we had to wash our dishes I really cannot comment nicely about the service. Over 15 to 20 yrs, we've been coming here service has fluctuated and that's okay - we still come back,,, but today was MOST odd feeling. ALMOST mean, but certainly not Welcoming. Perhaps because she wanted to go home. Locked the door behind us.

Gerald P.

Yelp
Given a gift card & decided to redeem it.Because of road construction it was a hassle to get there. Once there, we appreciated the reserved parking out front for customers who pick up. The strip mall parking lot was full & with all the businesses parking is limited. On ordering Peter was very polite & efficient. We asked for two butterfish laulau's & a pound of squid luau. He asked if dine in or out & if we wanted warm or cold temperature to take out. Thought that was a nice gesture to ask!Food was packaged nicely & ready to go! We decided to sign up for their points program, free food with food purchases. Thank Peter for that! On leaving saw poke & Peter's customer service is outstanding, gave us the Tuesday 10 percent off for seniors after ringing us up & took the time to make us happy customers.Lei we appreciated her hospitality too! Kept my wife busy with her friendly demeanor.Went home& the Hawaiian foods were delicious, plenty of butterfish, squid luau spot on & spicy poke fresh! Happy tonight!!! Mahalo Young's Fish market!

Marissa K.

Yelp
I went one day to get a mini lau lau plate. I opted for poi instead of rice and it also came with lomi salmon. For a mini size portions I thought were pretty generous. Located right in City Square in Kalihi. Glad to have this place still around to go get Hawaiian food dine in or take out when you're in the area.

Victor H.

Yelp
I can always count on Young's Fish Market whenever I visit Honolulu! This is one of the places we come to for local Hawaiian food. This is where the locals eat. I always get their Lau Lau and roast pork with the crispy skin. They have other local delicacies such as turkey tails, beef stew, kalua pig, lomi salmon, chicken long rice. I could go on. Oh and huge bento plates. I arrived as soon as they opened; so I only ordered Roast Pork and a Butterfish Lau Lau which is served only on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Lau Lau was steaming hot. The taro leaves were cooked perfectly. It melted in my mouth. The butterfish was full of flavor from the taro leaves and super moist. The roast pork was full of the pork flavor you'd expect from roasting. The skin was nice and crispy, the best part! The pork was moist and a bit fatty. But it delivered! I can't wait to return to Young's to try their tripe stew! So many places to try and so little time!

Marion L.

Yelp
Great food especially beef Lau Lau and the taste is consistent! Likewise the turkey tails, perfect with poi. Service with a smile! You'll not go there for the ambiance but good food.

Titi R.

Yelp
Grabbed lunch from here because they have ono hawaiian plates. Been a long time having eaten here so it was a real treat to pick up a plate lunch. I love my local food and thus has always been a great place to go. We didn't dine in but they have a nice atmosphere if you do. Nice staff and quick service

F S.

Yelp
Wow, awesome Hawaiian food in Kalihi. Easy to get to. Lots of parking and even has a few tables to eat fresh. We were stoked and will be back!

Jae D.

Yelp
Good Hawaiian food! Been here long time and local people. Good poke bowls as well! Staff are always friendly and nice. Always a good time coming here.

Yelp
Super tasty pork laulau and beef stew plate. Also ordered 1/4 pound of spicy ahi poke to go with our lunch for 2. You can choose between ice cold fresh lomi salmon or macaroni salad / poi or white rice. The sweet pipikaula beef jerky in the laulau plate was delicious. The beef stew was tender, flavorful, hot, and had big chunks of carrots and potatoes. Delicious lunch. There is also free ice water provided as well. Help yourself from the orange colored cooler around the corner from the lunch counter cashier.

Rachel H.

Yelp
I heard so many great things about their lau lau, so I was very excited to come here! Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by it. Mine was full of so much fat! I know butterfish is a premium and not all places are putting it inside, but I didn't expect my lau lau to be 90% pork fat. It was a major turn off. On top of that, the tables were pretty dirty. My husband used a towel to wipe our table, but it smelled SO BAD. I nearly threw up from the smell alone.

Benson K.

Yelp
Whenever I go to Hawaii, one of my biggest priorities is getting good Hawaiian food that I cannot access in the mainland United States. Thus, whenever I visit Oahu, I always want to make sure I have a memorable meal that is distinctly Hawaiian. Young's Fish Market definitely appeared, on glancing Yelp, to be the type of establishment I was looking for. I saw that Young's had a variety of laulau, and also served purple sweet potato and poi. Thus, I decided to come here with my wife for my first meal in Hawaii. It's a very small establishment. We ordered at the counter, then picked up our food and ate it at our table. The people at the counter were very nice. We ended up ordering a butterfish laulau with pipikaula, sweet potato, poi, and macaroni salad. My wife was pregnant at the time and could not eat lomi salmon, so we substituted macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was fairly standard. I loved the poi, which was not too sour for me. The pipikaula tasted more stewed than grilled, and I am used to the latter. But it was still amazing. The laulau was one of my favorite parts of the lunch. The butterfish and taro leaves went amazing together, and the butterfish was melt in your mouth soft. The sweet potato was a purple yam, unlike commonly seen orange sweet potatoes in the mainland. It was not too sweet, and quite good. Overall it was a solid start to my weekend in Oahu.

La H.

Yelp
The fish and pork lau lau are amazingly delicious with a generous portion of taro leaves. When the poi is fish it's really good. Service is quick.

Mikayla P.

Yelp
I love eating Young's for straightforward delicious Hawaiian food. Since the last time I checked, they now deliver on DoorDash, which made it so convenient to order and have it accessible as soon as I got home. Definitely some of the best Laulau I've tried, and I love for the mini bento there's a lot of variety. The haupia serving was bigger than I expected too for a small!! Definitely a must go to spot for laulau

Val D.

Yelp
I haven't gone here since covid started, and it's been a while since I updated my review. Young's laulau and hawaiian food is consistently the same. Their laulau is one of the best. My friend that has never ate here ordered their beef stew and said it was one of the best he ever had with such tender stew meat in it's flavorful stew sauce. I had to also order their squid luau because they make it so addictingly ono. We could eat in and will hopefully be going more often when we can. Lots of parking because it's in the waikamilo complex.

Christina S.

Yelp
Mini pork laulau plate and it was AWESOME!!! Great service I wanted stew too but they are RAN OUT! so gotta come back!!!

Wailana W.

Yelp
I'm in love with Young's. Having tried the other Hawaiian place (which shall not be named), Young's laulau, poi and lomi salmon tasted fresher and almost 1/2 the cost. Come with a senior and get 10% off on Tuesdays. I ordered the mini laulau plate for $15.50 less $1.55 for $13.95 and couldn't finish it. They ran out of butterfish laulau which was a shame. This is very good quality Hawaiian food without the high prices.

Bruce N.

Yelp
Great food and people. We called in our order and it was ready when we arrived so it was easy and efficient.

happy C.

Yelp
Went based on strength of Yelp reviews, specifically on a Tuesday for butterfish laulau. Verdict: laulau disappointing, bones everywhere. Chicken long rice was overly soy sauce and sweet. Skip Young's. Better food at Zippy's.

Curt O.

Yelp
We are so lucky to have a local and reliable staple in Young's fish Market. I've been eating here for decades and it never disappoints. I enjoy full meals or just getting pupus for pau hanas and parties. Their pipikaula is the best. Thank you for always feeding us the very best.

Rick L.

Yelp
It always cracks me up when I walk in this place. The inside of the displays are cover with condensations and you can't see any of the dishes that are offered. How in the world for customers be able to choose what they want? Luckily for me I often come for the spicy ahi, grab and go. Delicious and amazing.

Li Y.

Yelp
Young's has been around since 1951, originally started as a fish market. In order to increase supply of delicious food options and to offset slow fishing seasons, Wilfred and Charlotte Young added in delicious Chinese dishes. They then started cooking and serving Hawaiian and other local foods thus becoming the Young's market that we know and love today. I come here for the Hawaiian plates of laulau, lomi salmon, pipikaula, sweet potato and poi. I always end up adding a serving of their warabi (pohole) and/or sea asparagus salad and a side of tripe stew or squid luau. How can you not when there is so much goodness here! Food lasting a few days. In the last few weeks two people told me how good Young's turkey tail was so, of course today I had to get one of those too. Hahah. Dat bugga WAS ono...not really my kind of food but have to admit...delicious. Located in Dillingham Square right across Kamehameha Bakery (go there too while you are at it for the best poi donuts!) with ample free parking. Just be patient and someone is always going out as most are just doing takeout from the multiple businesses sharing lot. Participate in the Five Stars customer loyalty program and get bonuses of free laulau or Hawaiian plates! Buy gift cards from Costco and add on a 20pct discount to the front of the purchase (just the Chinese thriftiness coming out). Thank you Young family for honoring our military and other law enforcement officers and our kupuna with additional discount on designated days. You guys are awesome and a well welcome to my community!

Scott H.

Yelp
No meat in the lau lau (all leaf), no salmon in the lomi salmon (for real, I don't think I had even one piece), barely any "squid" in the squid luau. This place has fallen off BIG TIME. I think they'd sub some of the pork in the kalua for chicken if they could. Will not return. Shoulda listened to Tommy Eats!

Yelp
Young's used to be the place to go for what I thought was the best char siu pork in town but as of recent, it's gone downhill. Not sure if they've changed recipes or cooks but the meat is not as flavorful or as tender as it used to be. This is the second time I've been disappointed with ordering their char siu. I don't think I'll be going back unless they bring back their old recipe.

Yelp
A friend turned me on to their turkey tails. I always get a pound of it and also a pound of char siu when I'm in need of pupus. This is all I get when I go there. I just want to say if the food is bad I won't be a repeat customer. I've been repeatedly going there at least once a month for a some time now. Very efficient friendly people behind the counter. It's winnahs!

Yelp
This spot is one of our go-to Hawaiian food spots though it can be inconsistent. We always get the combo plate (now $22.25) and use Costco gift cards (pay $80 for $100 worth). Last time, everything was on point and ono. This time, our pork lau lau was a bit dry and bland, and we couldn't find the piece of fat that we love. We could barely find any salmon in the lomi salmon. At least, the Kalua pig was juicy and pipikaula was super ono as usual. Of course, when we got home, we prepared some sliced sweet onion and Hawaiian sea salt on the side.
