We booked a surprise birthday dinner for my son at YOUNGS on Saturday night, 29th November. Everyone was excited, and we arrived on time, ready to celebrate together. With a promising menu, we were all looking forward to a wonderful evening.
My husband and daughter ordered the meat platter, the birthday boy chose the half grilled chicken, his girlfriend ordered a spaghetti dish, and I decided on a pizza and a mushroom soup. My daughter also topped up an order of truffle fries for the table.
Sadly, the disappointment began as soon as the food arrived. Apart from the pizza and the truffle fries—which were at least decent—every other dish was either bland or tasteless. The mushroom soup tasted like plain water, and the meat platter, grilled chicken, and spaghetti all lacked flavour. Everyone at the table fell silent, staring at each other in disbelief before sharing that we all felt exactly the same way.
What made this even more surprising was that I had visited the restaurant last year, and the food was perfectly fine then. This year, however, the standard has dropped so drastically that it felt like a completely different place.
For a dinner meant to celebrate a special birthday, this was truly disappointing. Based on this experience, I definitely will not be recommend YOUNGS to any of my friends surely and for me or my family, we will definitely will not visit again!
