Youth Hostel Bern

Great hostel! Staff were super friendly and helpful, answered loads of questions about facilities, things to do and how to get around town. Room was comfortable, with a sink and a locker for each person. Great location, just by the river and close to the furnicular which led up to the main shopping street and train station. Included breakfast was great, full continental and coffee machine! |Only complaint would be that the guest kitchen was very limited, only a fridge, sink, kettle and microwave, with no benches or any space to prepare food. So you could heat ready meals and make pot noodles, but that's about it!

Terrific hostel staff. In particular, I was not feeling well when I checked-in and hostel staff went far above-and-beyond to accomodate me. Hostel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Good selection of item for making sandwiches, especially cheeses and vegetables. Very location near the river and train station. I hope to return. Highly recommend!

The location is great. Only 7-10 minutes to go to the train station on foot and taking cable cart. The reception let people check in earlier. I love its flexibility. My roommates were respectful and that made me feel good quality in this hostel. Highly recommended!

I booked during summer they have a fan, but only one it’s not enough for a big room . The hostel is very clean so it was nice. I like the most is breakfast location seem far from train station but luckily it’s a cable car nearby and it near the lake

Great location with access to the Marzilibad and close to everything else in the city. Transit cards are included. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Staff very welcoming and efficient. Breakfast continental and Included. Bread buscuits jams cereal fruit cheeses and hams. Location 7 mins from.centre 1 minute from the beautiful river aare incredibly clean and contemporary

I had a 2 night stay in this hostel in Bern, I will comment on different areas of the hostel. ||Location: The location is great. 10 minute walk from the train station and nearby the old town and local bars, restaurants and viewpoints. ||Rooms: I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. In the room there was a locker which is locked by your key card, sink also in the room. You have to make and strip your on bed on check in and check out. |No privacy curtain on the bed but there was a usb port and light at each bed. There is sockets but not beside every bed. |Our room had a patio door which was good for airing out the room. |Bed and pillow comfortable.|Showers located outside of the room. Shower area is clean and showers are hot. ||Food: I had breakfast here. The breakfast is good but they didn’t have a toaster on the second morning? Can’t understand why despite requesting this but they said ‘not at the moment’. Breakfast includes selection of coffee, juice, ham/salami, cheese, breads, boiled eggs, cereal, yogurts etc. ||Staff: The staff were friendly upon checkout and checkin. ||Social aspect: Varying age groups despite this being a youth hostel, which I have found to be different in Switzerland. Groups of children and families also staying here.||- laundry cost 15chf.|- bring your own towel.|-bring your own shower gel.

Not every bed have the outlet to charge It’s inconvenient But have the stowage to put the bag it’s convenient the breakfast is good
