OMG the views!||The hostel has a rustic feel and cozy spaces. You can sit on the deck or in the front area and take it all in. Highly recommend.||The bed was comfortable with a little light and a storage area. Caveat that there was only one charger strip per room. They were able to reserve a lower bunk for me. Bathroom was pretty basic but relatively clean.||The included breakfast was huge and filling: yogurt, muesli, cheeses, fruit, cheese and even an apple pastry in a bowl of custard.||There are no kitchen facilities, just a small fridge, utensils and microwave. Most people eat supermarket ramen for dinner. I paid 20 CHF for a big dinner of veggie chili and fixins. Worth it to me. They will also prepare fondue for you.||The walk from the train station is not that bad if you go start at the end of the train line (not Grindelwald Grund).||I would love to stay here again.

Everything was good, the facilities, breakfast and the view. Location was difficult to access but given the nature of the town its fair. Just one thing the time of the check in and check out were insanely inconvenient and nobody was there to help during non-office hours until 4pm. Maybe something to improve on.

For a youth hostel, this was really clean and well maintained. Mattresses and pillows were clean and comfortable. As we were 7 of us, we got a room together. Bathrooms and toilets were shared with other rooms. Breakfast was a super buffet, with bread, cheese, boiled eggs, muesli, cold cuts, and coffee, big choice of teas and juices. The view is amazing, and the walk down to the train station is just about 7-8 minutes.

A sustainable alternative to hotels with a large ecological footprint. The reception is very friendly. You should not have any problems with youth around you and you should love simple food. If one were to ask me to come again or to stay longer, I would definitely say 'yes!' The simple terrace with a view of the Eiger North Wall is not the first reason, but certainly one of them.

Great experience. Freindly staff that speak a wide range of languages. Location is what you make of it, a few steep hills to reach the hostel, but when your there you are rewarded with spectacular views. Breakfast is simple but filling, and a bonus seen as I wasn't expecting any food to be provided. Outside grounds provide a fire pit a Swiss hot tub, table tennis and there is also a games room aswell. Highly recommended as a solo traveller

(1) the location is A - it is a 10 minutes walk down to the Grindelwald station, 20 minutes up from the station. (2) Personnel very friendly, other guests are quiet and friendly, which is always nice with Youth Hostel. (3) We had a clean corner room on the second floor, sink / table / closet in the room with shared bath room. It is clean, and enough for the purpose. (4) beds & mattresses are comfortable for a good night sleep. (5) breakfast was richer than we expected; eggs, baken, nuts, fruits, five kinds of milk - very thoughtful. There is an optional dinner, well cooked and economic. Over all, we’d value it as a five star youth hostel.

Gorgeous location that can be a bit tricky to get to (steep hill). Breakfast was great and view of the Eiger is dreamy, but dinner was uninspired. Overall terribly overpriced, though still one of the most economical options in town. Don't get the double room with private bathroom, it will run you close to 200 CHF a night for two people! Eeeek, lesson learned! The guy at the reception doesn't seem to like his job much....arrogant and horribly condasending to many guests including us. I mean, if international guests irritate you so much, why are you working here? Overall very clean.
