Booked a room with a sink for three people for five nights. We were not expected to share with a fourth person as we were one family - thank you YHA. Huge room with shared single-sex bathroom/showers and a shared veranda across the back of the property. ||THE VIEW. A direct view of the Eiger and adjoining mountains. We took so many photos. This was surely the best view in the whole of Grindlewald. ||You are given a Grindlewald card when you arrive - this entitles you to free rides on the 121, 122 and 123 bus throughout your stay, and the bus stop is two minutes walk away to catch the 122 into the centre of town. You can walk, of course, on the signed paths.||Front desk very helpful. Many languages spoken and lots of items for sale (beers, crisps, noodles) and some for a deposit (use of the guitar, piano).||Thank you so much for providing a microwave - this made our Swiss experience so much more affordable. We bought microwave meals from one of the supermarkets in town and cooked for ourselves in the evening. So many people were eating the noodles, but we had quite a variety from Coop. There is a large, very clean communal fridge for your beers/picnic items.||One thing - no towels. Take your own.||This was a great place - so many things to do in Grindlewald and the free buses made them all the more accessible.||The view befitted a five star hotel.

Hands down, probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. The facilities and food were superb and the location is out of this world. Fantastic views from the balcony and terrace below. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Top marks.

Pros: Breakfast included which is nice. Has good coffee and plenty of selections of foods. Rooms & bathrooms are clean. Water is hot. Views from the hotel is nice.Common areas really nice. Cons: At breakfast there is only 1 toaster which always creates a huge queue to toast bread. It seems really simple to buy another toaster to avoid this issue. The hostel is located on a hill which makes its access uncomfortable if you want to walk into the town often. Which most guests will since they probably don't have a car. The staff at the reception plays the weaponized incompetence really well. They "try" to help you buy they don't "know" anything. Straight up useless. Bear in mind if you don't book a whole room you will be put in another building to the side which is not the main building. It has 3 floors all by stairs. Rooms have only 1 plug which makes it really hard when you have room mate trying to charge their phones.

The place was great. Dinner was great. People friendly. Had a beer. Nice location. The floor in my room was very squeaky and if anyone got up everybody in the room will have to be up. It was super loud. But overall slept great. Loved it.

Youth Hostel Grindelwald is a great place to stay when visiting Grindelwald. The breakfast is excellent, and the surrounding views are stunning. During summer, some rooms may have limited ventilation, but when I requested a room change, the staff promptly accommodated me. Most of the staff are friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again.

A great hostel at the top of the hill (I hiked it, but it's a pretty tough hike with 23kg on you; the bus may be more convenient) with beautiful views of the Alps. Clean beds, great amenities, and clean bathrooms. Some notes (not a knock on hostel's rating itself, but tips for a better experience): * Don't book the 7+ beds (where the beds are on the floor) and opt for the bunkbeds. If you sleep beside someone who snores or has bad body odor, you will have a bad time, especially if they start invading your space. * It can be chilly. Bring a sweatshirt

Wow, fully blown away by this place! Great breakfast with a spectaculair view on the Eiger North face. Beds were good & comfortable. We enjoyed especially that vegetarian dinners were the hostels standard meal, well cooked and delicious. Meat was not missed at all. Staff was very multilingual and friendly. Easy parking. Truly a place to go back to.

Located quite far uphill and far from train station, you will rely on bus 122 to reach / leave the hostel, which only operates until around 6pm. The view from the hostel is not bad, with quite a large outdoor area. The building itself is an old wooden structure and it is very easy to hear the noise from other rooms. Only two toilets / shower rooms per gender per floor but so far it is ok. Just be reminded that there is no individual electric socket for each bed and the lamp above the bed does not seem to work.
