Youth Hostel Larochette

Easy accessible by bus. Clean and peaceful. Staffs were friendly. No lifts there. Stairs only. I had little problem with my luggage bag when I checked in. However I got help when checking out. Could charge my phone there, charger was not compatible with the wall plugs..

Based on previous reviews, it appears the youth hostel really pays attention to its feedback. No gloomy reception staff, instead very warm welcoming staff who seemed determined that you enjoyed your stay. I was based in the main building in a twin room, which was large, airy and cosy at night and excellent for the price. The communal facilities were clean and well maintained, the shower wasn't the strongest I've had but it worked. As I tend to have a mid-morning snack for breakfast, I didn't have the breakfast provided so I'm unable to comment on the food. That said, there is a decent selection of places to eat in the town centre a short walk away. Although seemingly remote, getting around couldn't be easier with Luxembourg's efficient (and free) bus services. The nearest bus stops to the hostel, little more than a minute from the hostel, were used by the Mersch-Stegen and Junglinster-Ettelbruck services, so connecting to the train or other bus services was a breeze. They also come with a complimentary view of the photogenic Larochette Castle! Would highly recommend a visit.

Well-located, friendly staff, geat food for small price. The onlt thing we regretted as hikers was that breakfast only started at 7.30 whereas the bus to Mullerthal leaves at .04 in Larochette (10 minutes walk). Breakfast at 7.00 would have enabled us to take the 8.04 insteda of the 9.04 bus. A practical detail.

Very good location, staff very nice and helpful. Basic breakfast. No toster. No facility to make tea and coffee after breakfast. These can be bought in the bar ?? Dinner can be pre ordered. No shower gels in the shower room. Showers/toilets are pre gender.

I liked the hostel. It's clean, has decent beds, and it has a large comfortable 'conference room' to read/write. The breakfast is quite basic, but OK (you have to like instant coffee though..)

I recently stayed at this hostel and was quite disappointed with my experience. Upon arrival, the lady at the check-in was extremely rude and made it clear she didn't enjoy her job. Her attitude was off-putting and made the start of my stay unpleasant. The breakfast provided was also a letdown. It was poor compared to any other hostel I've stayed in, lacking variety and quality. On the plus side, the town itself is beautiful and the facilities were just okay, but these positives do not make up for the negative aspects of my stay. I would not recommend this hostel to others.

Very nice youth hostel. Enjoyed our stay! Rooms are simple and clean. Food in the evening is very good! Lunch bag and breakfast is ok. So I would definitely come again. Two small things which are not so good. 1) We had a room for two and all the rooms on the floor have such a horrible door, which you can only close with a lot of noise when leaving the room. This leads to an orchestra during the evening, because everytime someone goes to pee, you are woken up by a smashing sound. 2) The water supply policy is very very sustainable, which is good in a way, but practically you have to shower for 30 minutes because there is nearly no water or pressure coming out of the showers.

a bit outdated hostel with quite small room and not ensuite. good location for peopel walking the Mullerthal trail. Some staffs need to be trained to put a smile on their face.
