This hostel is a trap. It was unclear to me that it is impossible to check-in after 22:00. If I did not call to inform a couple of days prior to our arrival, we would arrive at 23:00 and have no place to stay. `We not only had to search for a different more expensive accommodation for that nigh but they also charged me 15% for cancelling, while I did not want to cancel! How difficult is it to instal a locker where guests can pick up their key in case of late arrival????

Our personal experience was fine. It’s a decent hostel in a quiet area, the Mullerthal region is close by, the hostel itself was clean and overall a good value for money. The breakfast is okayish like absolute bare minimum. But we would like to mention that the check in time closes at 10:00PM and we saw a family of 6 literally stranded outside the hostel calling reception & not being helped in this regards even though they were told that they can come until midnight. Whatever the reason maybe, it was pretty sad seeing a family being treated like this. I expect much better customer service in the hotel industry. If you have these strict rules, they should be very clearly communicated in bold characters in emails or even WhatsApp messages. Or much better if you can implement a digital check in process as in to avoid all this hassle.

I would like to give zero stars but apparently that's not possible... My experience was just awful at this hostel. We arrived at around 23:00 and noticed a sign that check-in hour was till 22:00. No notification in advance via mail about this though.... Never was indicated to me in any communication (I even received a mail on the day itself indicating that everything was ready to accommodate us, ... not true at all). I called the number that was on the door and explained the situation to the guy who picked up the phone. That we were not aware, nor notified about the check-in time limit. He offered no solution at all! His only answer was we could go and sleep somewhere else. We even noticed he was calling from the building behind us (we heard him talk through an open window ...). As I kept explaining the situation and ask for a solution he started to threaten to call the police on us. Never had such a bad experience before... Finally we had to check other hotels, options in the neighbourhood... there weren't any so we ended up at an expensive night in a hotel at the airport (half an hour driving....). Really the most awful experience I've had in all my travels. For me this is not the end of it I will ask a reimbursement of the amount I've paid and for a compensation as I had to book another hotel.

Bunglow cottages are really cosy and affordable for group trips. Everything was neat and clean from the bathrooms to the fresh laundry. The only issue was the balcony/backdoor to outdoor sitting was not opening as the handle seems to be broken. No toiletries will be given but we bought our own, also there's a proxy DH supermarket and one stop shop at gas station right outside on the main road where you can get anything you need but beware of closing time. Nice garden spots around the hotel to chill with free parking. Overall we had a wonderful experience for a weekend trip.

If you're in transit I guess this hostel is ok. You get the bare minimum. Showers took 5 minutes to heat up. The rooms could use some hooks to hang clothing. Breakfast is very scanty. Staff was kind. Overall good for 1 night, but not for staying any longer.

Easy accessible by bus. Clean and peaceful. Staffs were friendly. No lifts there. Stairs only. I had little problem with my luggage bag when I checked in. However I got help when checking out. Could charge my phone there, charger was not compatible with the wall plugs..

Based on previous reviews, it appears the youth hostel really pays attention to its feedback. No gloomy reception staff, instead very warm welcoming staff who seemed determined that you enjoyed your stay. I was based in the main building in a twin room, which was large, airy and cosy at night and excellent for the price. The communal facilities were clean and well maintained, the shower wasn't the strongest I've had but it worked. As I tend to have a mid-morning snack for breakfast, I didn't have the breakfast provided so I'm unable to comment on the food. That said, there is a decent selection of places to eat in the town centre a short walk away. Although seemingly remote, getting around couldn't be easier with Luxembourg's efficient (and free) bus services. The nearest bus stops to the hostel, little more than a minute from the hostel, were used by the Mersch-Stegen and Junglinster-Ettelbruck services, so connecting to the train or other bus services was a breeze. They also come with a complimentary view of the photogenic Larochette Castle! Would highly recommend a visit.

I liked the hostel. It's clean, has decent beds, and it has a large comfortable 'conference room' to read/write. The breakfast is quite basic, but OK (you have to like instant coffee though..)
