We have driven all the way from Verona ( italy) up to Luxembourg overnight and arrived to the facility at 11 am. They did not let us have an early check in as it was normally done at 1 pm. We waited in the car for 2 hours, only to find out no cleaning was done, even the beds did not have bedsheets on them! It was a shared room by a total of 4 people. The floor was very dirty, so as the bathroom and the toilet. So instead of being a little helpful and help us check in early to the room, they made us wait for 2 hours for no reason! I was told to take the bedsheets from downstairs and put them on the bed myself. The pillows were very lumpy and thin. The bed was quite firm and uncomfortable. The shower light goes off every one minute so you have to continue showering in the dark unless you come our of the shower cubicle and wave your hand to the sensors. The water in the shower also goes off every 30 seconds and you have to keep pressing the tap. Lastly, the two people we were sharing the room with made loads of noise when they came in and both snored very loudly for the whole night to the point when we both gave up and went to the car to sleep in the cold weather. As a result, we missed the morning breakfast provided by the facility. It felt like we paid a lot of money to have an awkward shower and a parking space. When we vocalised the problems to the reception, no solutions were provided, neither a total or partial refund was offered. As a plus side, it was in a great location, really close to the city centre. The restaurant melting pot was reasonably priced with tasty food and salads.

Stayed for a night with friends and had a really good experience overall. We booked a room for four, and it was cozy and comfortable. Each bed had its own power outlet and reading lamp, which was super convenient. The showers and toilet inside the room were clean and well maintained. There’s also a free locker room near the common area, but make sure to bring your own padlock. All the staff were super helpful and friendly, they helped us stay in the same room even though we booked under two different names. The price was 35 euros per person included a breakfast buffet with bread, jam, cheese, cereal, fruits, etc. The hostel is a bit tucked away down a steep staircase under a bridge though. Right nearby, there’s a river under the bridge that makes for a really nice photo spot. This hostel recommended if you’re visiting Luxembourg city on budget!

I had just travelled 8 hours from Germany by train and bus and arrived at 9:30 PM in the driving rain. Upon attempting to check in with Guy at the front desk, I was met with nothing but stonewalling and disdain. Although I showed him Eric Sauer's, the manager's, E-Mail stating that I was to be housed in a four bedroom for all three nights, he bucked me every step of the way and took 30 minutes, after seemingly endless explanation and wrangling, to give me the bed I was promised. Although I had presented him with my Youth Hostel ID upon arrival, he tried to charge me the regular rate for all 3 nights. He was obstinate, bitter, unhelpful and unpleasant. His manner set the tone for my interaction throughout my 3 day stay. When I questioned the 14 Euro meal a couple of night later with the dining area manager, I was confronted with only a nasty, sickly 50% portion of whatever. When I tried to leave my luggage at the front desk per "FREE LUGGAGE STORAGE" on the website, I was offered only resistance. After the second night I was forced to move to another room without receiving compensation or a credit. When I discussed the incident regarding Guy with Eric Sauer two days later, the lady was equally unhelpful. In summation, it is a bright, new, clean hostel but beware of the staff. They are deplorable.

Upon looking for hostel options in Luxembourg city, couldn’t easily find a better option than this hostel. Location is not a big deal since there is transport everywhere. Friendly staff. Clean place, great breakfast, although minimum stay is 2 nights. Great prices. Bed sheets are included but towels are for extra cost. Lockers in the dorm are available. You receive the bed sheets in a sealed package. Saw some table tennis but didn’t have the chance to explore it. Overall, highly recommended and if I came back to Luxembourg city, will definitely stay here again.

Although this hostel is located down south-west of the country, the free public transportation is well connected by train and bus lines. The single bed provided is a bit narrow and I hope the management could look into the condition of the pillow which has degraded to be replaced. Above all else, the place is clean and the super friendly staff will make up for your stay to be pleasant and comfy. I must compliment all the reception staff namely Cindy and Romaine, not to forget the two ladies which register my stay on the 5/08/25 around 3 to 4 pm local time. I'm looking forward to another leisurely visit again.

After arriving I read the reviews and I don't have much to add to what other people have said. I thought it was strange that we have to make our own beds AND strip them down (bedding is packaged in single use plastic too btw) when we check out, there was also no hand soap in the bathroom to wash hands and no towels provided. The bunk beds were also difficult to climb and I had to haul my bags up the stairs as there was no lift. On the other hand it seemed pretty clean and there was a power socket and a light by the bed. I think if you're on a budget it's not a bad place to stay as long as you bare everything in mind

In a very pretty but relatively far out location (about a 30-35 minute walk from the station and painfully hilly). The rooms are very basic (you had to put on your own sheets, there was no towel or soap, the charging sockets are quite poor, and the shower is very bad - the lights in the bathroom are motion-sensor but can’t sense motion from the shower so you are constantly having to open the door of the shower and wave around frantically to turn the lights back on which makes the floor sodden). The rooms were clean though. There are good social areas and the free breakfast is very good. The service was decent but they were very difficult to get hold of on the phone and not overly friendly. We would recommend Up Down Bar nearby as a great, fairly priced place to get drinks and food. Bring your own padlocks for the lockers!

All the staff that we came across were incredibly rude and clearly unhappy. It left a bitter taste in our mouth when going out and about knowing we had to come back to it. The beds were pretty rock solid. Although free breakfast was nice.
