We stayed in a few youth hostels on our bikepacking trip, including this one. This was the cheapest we stayed in but also didn't include towels unlike most other youth hostels nowadays. They can be booked extra for 4€ a towel. Our two bed room was on the 5th floor, which contrary to what one might think did not come with beautiful views of the mountains but a tiny floor level window that could barely be opened and a skylight window (there was an AC though in fairness). The ceiling height was around 1,40-1,80m with a big protruding beam I hit my head on twice getting out of bed. It felt very claustrophobic. Also, the elevator stops working at 7pm for "security reasons" which only added to our frustrations with our room. Checkout was early at 9am and people come to check if you've cleared out the room even though they don't start cleaning them for hours after. Breakfast was okay for one day, no eggs or anything special. If the room hadn't been so tiny and claustrophobic, I'd have given four stars.

So far the best hostel i stayed at. Quiet location and very clean. Breakfast is basic but come on, for that price you don't hear me complaining! Thanks.

Nice and clean rooms, despite the advertisement of an own bathroom to the room, there was a shared bathroom with another room. The personnel speaks english and German and the breakfast is very nice for the price. A big problem was the bad working wifi, which was unusable. Also even though it's called "Youth Hostel" prepare to share a room with all kinds of age groups.

5 stars to: - the efficiency, the politeness and the kindness of all the staff members. Always available to help and to make you feel at home; - the rooms: modern furniture, each guest has a whole locker/wardrobe for him/herself; - the tidiness: the rooms were super clean and tidy! I totally recommend the hostel. It’s not a party place, but if you are looking for a nice and comfy place to stay, it’s perfect :) I planned to spend 1 night there and ended up to prolong my stay for other 2 nights! Thank you!

We spent two night in this hostel. The room was clean, it is located in a central position, free breakfast was good. There is also a little playground for kids and free wi-fi. The staff is super nice.||We paid 24€ for each adult and 12€ for my kid.

We are seniors, and were looking for budget but clean accommodations in Merano and found it at the Youth Hostel. It is right near the main part of town within walking distance to most everything. We had a rental car and they even provided free parking! And breakfast- which was very decent- yogurt, coffee, fresh bread, cereal, juice. ||It's clean, all twin beds but some private rooms and our room that a great view of the mountains. It was a great find. We highly recommend it.

A nice hostel for turists (as we were ), situated in a very centre . Close to town by walk. Clean, simply furnished rooms. Nice receptionists..|| A small park place in front of the hostel.||Breakfast was fine, but we missed some vegetables :)||We recommned it!

This is a great option for anyone looking for a centrally located, clean and inexpensive accommodation in Merano. It's just 2 min by bike from the train station and the therme pools. You can book directly via their website enquiry page and they get back to you in less than 24 hrs through email. You pay directly on the spot, either in cash or with a card. It's called a hostel but it's more like a 3-stars hotel really, the room was very clean, the bathroom seemed new, the bed mattress was comfortable. I was very lucky to get a double for single use room for a very good price given it was off season. If you are in Alto-Adige to cycle there is a bike room where you can safely store your two wheels for the night. The main entrance is closed for the night but they give you the key for the back door. Be advised the lift is unavailable after 8 pm for security reasons so prepare to climb the stairs if you are staying on higher floors! The hostel is part of the same company that manages also the hostels in Bressanone, Bolzano or Dobbiaco - they are all very good quality and I highly recommend them!
