Youth Hostel Totland

Pleasant enough stay. Very sociable place. Had to make own bed, (never happened at YHA before) and reception insisted on details of my VISA debit card in case I overstayed (also never happened before, not ok really what with card fraud etc). Building is incredibly noisy, doors slamming repeatedly (weights could be slowed down) from 6am, upstairs bedroom noises until 1am. Totland beach is good for swimming, gets busy esp on Fridays with speed boat people.

We had a lovely stay at Totland Youth Hostel. The whole place was impeccably clean. We had a nice room for five there was plenty of room, the shower was powerful and hot water was plentiful. Great presentation and a good value breakfast. The Hostel has a lovely garden in which it can relax. The staff friendly and welcoming.

Just back from staying 5 days, I loved it, we were a large school group so had the whole place to ourselves. |Bedrooms were spacious and had comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms and all sparkling clean! Lovely lounge area with super comfy sofas. |The team were welcoming, friendly and efficient too, including Max! (The dog) The food was of a great standard. Free Wi-Fi, all the amenities you could want. |Beautiful location for seeing the island. |Would definitely go back.

We had a lovely stay at Totland Youth Hostel. The whole place was impeccably clean. We had a family ensuite room for five there was plenty of room, the shower was powerful and hot water was plentiful.|We had pre booked our breakfast which was a set full English breakfast ( not unlimited ) 1 sausage 1 bacon scrambled egg, baked beans, tomato and hash brown, plenty of toast along with help yourself continental breakfast juices , coffee and tea. Great presentation and a good value breakfast.|It enjoyed the Quiet room / Library with its comfy Sofas, the library had a good range of books for all readers.|Plenty of parking on site or on quiet residential street.|Only draw backs was only two electric plug sockets, no kettle in room, but remember it is a YHA hostel not a hotel. Hot water/kettle is available in a well equipped self catering kitchen.|Really could not fault our stay.|Oh host Bob and staff where lovely. |

We had an enjoyable stay for 3nights at the youth hostel to explore as much as we could of the island. Close to regular bus routes to explore Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, The Needles and Brook. Host and other employees welcoming and helpful. The hostel is clean and tidy. There is a lovely library and games room. If there is any problems they are rectified by the host. Also a well equipped self catering kitchen .

Thank you so so much to YHA Totland for our brilliant Christmas. We took over the entire hostel for 22 people ages 7-77 and dogs. It was the perfect place for us all to get together - lots of different spaces like ping pong room, TV room, library - and eat and drink and dance and have fun for 5 days. Affordable and relaxed. Bob was very helpful but also left us to ourselves. We had looked for a space for our group size and this hostel was significantly cheaper but it was absolutely fine - clean and convenient. Highly recommend for other big groups. You can drive 5 mins to a beach or cliff top walks. We’ll be back!

Great hostel, as a company (Outdooraholics), we have been using this hostel for 8 years, Bob the manager has been fantastic and is continually making upgrades. I can't fault the place - great hostel, lovely rooms, perfect location with superb hiking from the door and nothing is ever too much trouble with Bob. We had a trip here recently in December and it was lovely and warm. Thanks Bob and please keep up the hard work!

Lovely hostel and so close to The Needles. Guys in charge are super friendly. Love the fact that dogs are welcome at only £10 for the whole stay and their cooked breakfast wasn't bad either. Great facilities, even have a small function room. I would stay here again! X
