Superb location, right at the foot of the Vianden Castle. I stayed in a private room with my son. It was spacious enough and had clean sheets. The room was equipped with a sink, table, chairs, and a closet with hangers. Breakfast was ok, but had no fresh produce: milk cereal, cheese, ham, bread, coffee, tea. An addition of fresh vegetable and a piece of fruit would be nice. The common room is spacious, but it is locked for the good part of the day and there is no one at the reception then, either. That's how they operate and it's just good to be aware of that. Overall quiet, with a sitting area in front of the hostel.

Very cool and quiet place to stay. The staff is friendly and the comfort of shared rooms is fine. Situated close do the castle in the charming place out of time and rush. Perfect to make some walks in the forest near the river and to recharge your batteries. I recommend this place and I'll be visiting it again with pleasure.

Perfect place to stay. If you go to Diekirch March, from Vianden to Diekirch you can take the bus number 181 or 188 and arrive to Diekirch. See you next year.

I couldn't have been happier with my stay at this hostel. It is situated in a charming scenic village right beside a beautiful castle. If you arrive by bus just keep walking up the hill like you are going to the castle. It's right next door. The hostel itself was clean, well kept, affordable, and well run. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and filling. A typical European offering of sliced meats, cheese, bread, jelly, yogurt, cereal, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Be sure to tour the castle, it is worth the small entry fee. Also hike the city wall and the path to the left of the castle which leads downhill to the church and dam. There are quite a few charming shops and restaurants in the village. There is a very small grocery on the street leading up to the hostel. I absolutely would stay here again.

I stayed for 1 night and managed to have the entire 8 bed room to myself! The man at the front desk was exceptionally kind and helpful, offered a map of the city and answered all my questions. It was quite an uphill trek to get to the hostel but once you got there it's only a short 5 minute walk to get to castle Vianden. Check out before 10 and complimentary breakfast served until 9. I could not recommend this place highly enough it truly exceeded my expectations.

The location is the main plus for this hostel. It's very close to the castle and from our room we had even a view of the castle which was really cool.. The cons are that the hostel seems to feel really old, needs renovation for sure. The toilet and showers are not there in every floor. The room is okayish, nothing great or bad about it. The breakfast is pretty standard one. Don't eat lunch/dinner here though, the food is cheap but not good. The owner is pretty friendly though and likes to have conversations.. Overall not a bad place to spend the night and the beautiful city makes up for most of the discomfort.
