I had a fantastic stay at Youth Hostel Zermatt! The staff at the front desk were all super friendly and always happy to help with anything we needed. 📌The location is ok a little far from the city center, you can get here more easily by taking the red electric bus, which drops you off closer to the entrance. If you take the green bus, just be prepared for a short walk up some stairs. 🍞The hostel offers a free breakfast, which was quite good and a nice way to start the day. There’s also a microwave, fridge, and hot water available for guests, which makes things very convenient if you want to prepare your own food or drinks. 🎭In the common area, there’s a free ping pong table and some board games, which we really enjoyed with friends. There’s also a game area with a foosball table, and a small 24/7 snack and drink vending corner. 😎One of the highlights is that you can just sit in the hostel and enjoy a direct view of the Matterhorn—absolutely stunning and relaxing! The price was perfect for what you get. ‼️Just a tip: bring your own hairdryer, slippers, and towel.

Very easy check in and check out with a good value breakfast and dinner. The rooms are clean with a large locker for personal belongings and a beautiful view out the windows! It is a little far from the train station and a bit of a walk with luggage. Nonetheless would stay here again.

Decently good. The location is a bit far from the Zermatt station. With the luggage, it's a bit challenging to reach the place by walking. The facility was not bad, breakfast was good, and the luggage storage was convenient. Shower room had very strong and warm water. Will visit again during winter.

Booked a 4-person dorm room at the youth hostel - good thing - breakfast is good... Points to note: Google maps does not show all stairs. Check open street map to plan a route without stairs. No lift and you may need to carry luggage upstairs (up to 4th floor). Toilet light turns off readily if no one is at the wash basin area (so lights may go off when you are having a shower).

The hostel is clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Special mention to the front desk staff who communicated with the chef and helped us to reserve dinner as we will be arriving slightly past 8pm as we wanted to catch the Glacier express from Brig. The dinner was fantastic, best meal we had in Switzerland. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

Stayed in a 8 bed dorm which was different to other bunk bed type dorms. The beds were all abutting each other. Had the room been full then it may have been interesting, View from bedroom window downstairs was sublime. Breakfast was very good. Oh and I couldn't work lockers out. Overall though I enjoyed my stay.

Stayed in a private room here, it was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was a blessing with a large space to accommodate everyone in the hostel! Location led to some great views and a nice spot without much noise at night, room was clean and comfortable. Getting here from the train station via walking can be a bit tricking with lots of luggage due to the hills and steps leading up to the hostel. All in all a lovely place.

We were stuck in Sermatt and could not get back to Cervinia. We had only ski clothes and needed the cheapest option to spend the night before returning to the Italian side. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and helpful receptionist who could speak to us in Swedish and Danish (he is not from there). He made sure we had a comfortable stay, away from the noisy school kids. We did not get a room with a Mayterhorn view but we soon learned that this is one of the few places that has many rooms that offer this. Not to worry though because you can have breakfast "just under" the Matterhorn. The breakfast was surprisingly generous, especially the fact that it is free. We have paid more in other places and had only croissants and jam. Dinner looked amazing but it was sold out so we could not eat there.

Yelp
This place served its purpose for young travelers in Zermatt. They had separate male and female rooms which we really appreciated. The view from the room alone was honestly worth dealing with any of the flaws. Very big breakfast included and you can eat as much as you want, but it's the same exact things every day so it did get boring, but it's FREE. There was this granola yogurt that I could've easily gotten addicted to so good. They didn't have an elevator and we had a huge suitcase with our room on the fourth floor. There was no one to offer us any help either. Our only option was to take stuff out of the suitcase and then keep it in their free lockers downstairs. Slightly annoying if you're traveling to vacation rather than explore, but I can't complain. There's a bus stop right next to it that takes you down to and up so you don't have to climb all the stairs/uphill lol, but it's only like a 10 min walk from everything.

Yelp
Inexpensive compared to other hotel/hostel/bnb options in Zermatt. Nothing fancy here just the bare minimum to get you through your stay. My boyfriend and I stayed in a private double room. It was clean with its own sink and shared toilets and showers. Free breakfast included complete w bread, sliced meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, juices and coffee. Laundry on site also ($) but the machines are quite old and the dryer didn't do much drying. Definitely worth staying here if you're on a budget!

Yelp
Nothing special but I had an affordable place to stay for the night. Breakfast was great. I highly recommend them and I will definitely stay there again and in other youth hostel locations.

Yelp
Not a bad hostel, food is adequate, rooms are clean and the welcome friendly. Winkelmatten is a little out from the village centre and the hostel sits on the side of the valley. I was in a room for 10 facing towards the Matterhorn and woke up to the classic view through the window, something you can't do from the expensive hotels in the village centre.
