No daily housekeeping. On day 2 for example, housekeeping will clear the trash and top up the bottled water only - not even change of towels. The combo washer and dryer is a scam. Even after 6 hours of drying, the clothes are damp. The hotel can provide more drying racks if needed.Location wise, Yu Kiroro is in the middle of nowhere. It is 30 mins drive from Otaru city center. But the hotel provides free return shuttle service to Otaru. It is a peaceful place with fresh air, away from civilisation.Otherwise, the 2 bedroom deluxe suite is spacious and well furnished.

Lovely property and warm hospitality. |Shella and Deo at the front desk are both very helpful and attentive. Ms Padma at the restaurant is another lovely soul. They made the stay much enjoyable.

Family trip: 2A, 3K This resort is quieter, smaller than Club Med- which works well for my kids. Main course + buffet breakfast, adequate variety. They can accommodate food requests for “picky” eaters, and allergies. Hot water for shower is really nice and hot. Onsen available for guests- male vs female. Lovely area just outside of hotel to play in, can borrow sleds, snow toys; There’s a gentle slope; and an easy walk to the ski/gondola lift to go to the mountain centre. We took lessons from an instructor from the centre; managed to learn enough to enjoy the family slope easily on our own after that Good range of teas, coffees; bar with alcoholic drinks Great service (I especially enjoy talking to Padma as a fellow South East Asian!)- but everyone was really friendly and attentive; they spoke excellent English which really helps us figure out how to get things done The ski valet service is great as well- to store and dry equipment, laying them out ready for us to use in the mornings Easy to use shuttle bus service from doorstep to doorstep Highly recommend, and will consider repeat stays in future!

We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas and New Year. It was a lovely stay. It provided excellent 5 star service that pampered us. We have 2 little ones and their genuine ski-in ski-out was really great for us. The gondola that takes you to the Mountain Centre is literally at the door step. They have a ski valet service; what a spoil, we left our shoes with the personnel there in the morning and they exchanged us with all our ski gear. At day end, just left our gear with them and all sorted.||They have free onsen which we see as a must to have in our Hokkaido ski trips. They have not indoor and outdoor onsen. Not huge but not often packed so it was fine.||The room itself is fabulous. All very new, spacious and comfortable. There is an in-room washing machine and dryer; again a must for us. Tip is to dry your clothes with at least the 4 hour function.||They have a nice restaurant in Yu Kiroro, and also room service and food / grocery delivery services to offset against the lack of convenient stores there. We had a rental car so we had always planned to stock up and dine occasionally at Otaru which was a 35 min drive.||As we were there over New Year Eve, their New Year Eve functions were very kids friendly and we had a lot of fun. They had a small outside BBQ for kids to charcoal their marshmallows.

What a treat! Excellent cheerful, friendly and very helpful staff - all able to speak English. Very relaxed! In-house Otaru Adventure Snow School (just behind reception) gives professional friendly ski in and out service. Food in restaurant is very good especially the breakfast- such a choice. Our apartment was very spacious with good cooking and laundry facilities. Already planning next year trip! Thanks to everyone at Yu Kiroro 🥳

Evaluated based on a rate of 70,000 yen for one night including dinner and breakfast: Pros: The room is quite nice, and the ski resort next door makes it very convenient. Cons: The meals are a major letdown. The seafood at breakfast was not fresh and completely lacked flavor—it felt like it had been frozen for half a year. The seasoning of the Thai-style seafood soup was off; it had no taste at all. The red wine braised venison served at dinner was very mediocre. I strongly recommend bringing your own instant noodles—it would be a much better option. Also, the public bath is extremely small—about five people and it’s completely full.

The room was quite great; it had everything, just like a serviced apartment. The decoration was very homey and felt warm during the winter season. We reserved a package that included breakfast and dinner for 4 days and 3 nights, a ski pass for 3 days, and other benefits. The breakfast was great, but the main dish each day was just so-so. Also, the dinner menu was not as good in quality as it should have been. Sometimes, the front desk staff was confusing. We arrived on the first day during a snowstorm, so skiing was not possible, but there was no communication about this when we checked in. As a result, we lost 1 day of our ski pass for free. However, overall, our stay was great. But some things didn’t feel worthwhile. And the price we had paid not cheap!

Myself and 3 friends just stayed here at Yu Kiroro last week. It was wonderful. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They did everything in their power to constantly help us have a great time. I think if you show up with a full understanding of what Yu Kiroro is and offers (a very nice boutique hotel near a ski hill) and you have the right expectations, you’ll fall in love with it, like we did. If it wasn’t on the other side of the world from me, I’d come back frequently! ◡̈
