We spent a week at this hotel and found it very very central, a good price and the staff were all very polite, friendly and the reception staff had exceptional English. The hotel is stylishly a hoot - it was Intourist hotel in the olden days. While it has been renovated, it still has a very retro 70's feel, which is quirky and fun. The tiled fountain in the foyer is an original as is the grand staircase. The rooms are tidy, clean and provided all the basics that we needed - the beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean and tidy. There is not a jug in the room for heating hot water, nor provision of tea bags or coffee. But there are water coolers in the corridor which also provide boiling water. The cafe downstairs kindly gave us two mugs. The cafe is lovely and it made the best cup of coffee that we had in Minsk - a good strong short or long black. It does have a Casino attached, and clearly attracts Russian visitors to the Casino, but that did not detract from the hotel proper and its service. Yes we would return to the Yubileiny because it is so close to everything - you can walk to the old historic area, to various museums and there is excellent shopping nearby as well as a good little souvenir shop in the hotel.
