Korean tofu pockets are the perfect snack or light meal. They're filling and come in a variety of delicious combinations. Personally, I'm a fan of the bulgogi and torched salmon. And for a quick and easy treat, try microwaving them for just 30 seconds - It is a warm and delicious bite that will satisfy any craving. It's great that they have a microwave in the store, but they don't have any tables - only chairs for you to sit in. It's good enough for a quick meal, though. Additionally, the staff is very friendly. Even if an item isn't displayed, they will still make it for you.

It’s…not somewhere I’ll go again. I feel like it’s mostly personal taste when it comes to this, but it wasn’t very good. I’m used to eating rice and tofu skin, and I love it. But when adding toppings, it can get a bit weird. Because I’ve seen this online a bunch, I thought I’d give it a try. Tldr; it looks better than it tastes. Actually, it looks way better on the website than it does in real life. It’s much more dull in person. The portion sizes are small, while the prices are high, and I feel like it’s an acquired taste. It’s like the three ingredients that go in this dish, can be eaten in pairs, but not all three together. So, for example, sausage and rice or rice and tofu skin would do well. But all three together? The savoury Anne suite doesn’t necessarily go together. It just is savoury and sweet and the flavours do not mix. I had a feeling I wouldn’t be a really big fan of it, so I bought four different flavors, and ended up not liking most of them. Warming it up was even weird because tofu skin is usually eaten cold. The quality of the ingredients on top of the rice we weren’t very high either, so it just gave a rubbery taste. I did get the rice, because I knew that I may not be a fan of the main items. But I was quite disappointed. They kind of lump the ingredients onto the rice, and not it. But the amount they put is extremely small and quite dry. I would say the supermarkets rice ball taste better. Not much to say about atmosphere, it shares a room with 4 to 5 other businesses, and there’s one table with two chairs total. Definitely a to go food, but the interior could definitely still use work. The staff girl was nice, she was alone, so she took a while, but she warned us beforehand, which is fine. So service gets full stars. Again, personal preference, the food just did not work. It wasn’t it.

This was my first time trying Yubuchobap. I purchased three pieces of tofu pockets + Triangle Gimbap, while the rest was part of an Yelp event. There is similarity to Inari Sushi but they don't quite taste the same (try it and you will know). The biggest distinction to me is the fusion element - Yubu uses different ingredients and flavours to elevate the dish through creativity, such as Korean Fried Rice, Bulgogi, Spicy Salmon, Crab Salad...etc, all of which would have been delicious by itself. The visually appealing colours make the meal very enjoyable. The cost is not cheap per pocket, however, the food quality and presentation is excellent. Yubu ensures the ratio of the ingredients are proportionate to the rice. They package the pockets nicely in a box and they remain in mint condition wherever you go. Perfect for picnics, snacks, or quick bites. However, they may not be as satisfying if you're hungry and looking for a full meal (in which case, I would recommend trying their bowl). Yubu is conveniently located beside U of T in a small shop, mostly a take-out location. Staffs were friendly and patiently explained to me how the ordering process worked.

Yubu specializes in yubuchobap aka Korean-style inari sushi! There are 14 different yubu flavors to choose from as well as triangle kimbap and bowl options 🍣 If you have a nut allergy like I do, a number of the flavors contain peanut oil which I didn't know until looking at the ingredients! Make sure to double-check with the staff if you're unsure. What I got: - Spicy Salmon - Spicy Crab Salad - Kimchi Fried Rice - Bulgogi Triangle Kimbap - Kimchi Salad - Cool Peace Peach Drink My favs: - The top of the crab yubu was torched so I got a bit of smokiness which was quite nice - The quail egg on top of the kimchi fried rice really made it and was still runny when I popped the yolk! - I also just love how the tofu pocket added a touch of sweetness Final thoughts: Right by the UofT campus and with many flavors to pick from, this is a great snack or meal for busy students on the go. Only downsides are each pocket is a bit pricey and you can't purchase them individually, only in sets. Thank you to Yubu for a yummy meal and to Yelp Toronto for the opportunity to try Yubu as part of a Yelp Elite event!

Google
New S-tier snack. I will definetly be coming back for more. The sweet tofu pocket, filled with sushi rice and topped with delicious toppings. savoury and sweet all in one bite. All the salmon options, you can’t go wrong! Surprisingly really liked the mayo tuna and the garlic mushroom. Will have to try the onigiri next!

First time visiting here, saw some pretty pics from Instagram. Tofu pockets' flavours are quite good and so many options. For someone who don't know how to choose the flavours, their random box is the best choice.

Google
i’ve always wanted to try these and i finally did! we pretty much got all the veggie options and they were really good! staff also recommended to warm it up which was a really good idea. i was a bit nervous cause we went around 7 and wondered if they’d be stale just sitting in the case but nope!! kimchi and seaweed was still crisp and fresh and the inari was exactly how i like it. atmosphere is cool cause there’s 2 other food spots inside! i would definitely come again :)

The items were very flavourful. I especially loved the chicken buldak and the salmon gochujang. This place is great if you're looking for a quick and filling meal. There's no seating inside but there's some tables outside - just to note

Yelp
They have a counter with a kiosk where you order and the employee behind the kiosk would fulfil the order for you. What was interesting was that they asked for tip. I got various pieces to taste test and they were all good. My favorite are the spicy salmon and bulgogi. For the price, it was hard to justify the worth of them. For 10, I paid around $50 with tax and tip.

Yelp
I popped in on a weekend to pick up some Yubu for lunch and ordered the Spicy Salmon, Kimchi Fried Rice, Bulgogi, and Spicy Crab Salad. You can place your order on an iPad and have the option of ordering a 3-pack or 4-pack. Some were already made and on display at the window, while others required a few minutes for them to prepare and restock, so they were much fresher with warm rice (I preferred these). My favourite was the spicy salmon and crab salad. The bulgogi was just okay with not much flavour, and the kimchi rice is similar to something I cook regularly (it just looks cute due to the mini fried egg). The inari age or tofu skins add a sweet flavour to the sushi, and they are the perfect size for a quick on-the-go snack, but filling enough to be a meal in itself. They will cost you roughly $5 per Yubu, which is quite pricey. This booth is located in a little food court alongside a place selling Korean Food and bubble tea. There is little to no seating available so be prepared.

Yelp
finally had the chance to try Yubu's tofu pocket sushi for the first time. There's quite a selection to choose from which makes it so hard if you're indecisive like me. Each piece is quite big which makes it messy to eat. My favourites were the garlic mushroom and spicy chicken since they were the most flavourful. There's a lot of rice in each piece so it does feel quite heavy and hence why four piece sets are the perfect quantity. Overall we enjoyed the food, but they are on the pricey side so we definitely won't be coming too often. . . You've Yubu Set (pick 4 sushi and save 10%) Garlic Mushroom 4.5/5 Torched Salmon 3.75/5 Spicy Chicken 4/5 Salmon 3/5

Yelp
There's only 1 counter for you to order if you come during lunch time, make sure you know what you prior to coming there. They had a promotion when I went which was 1 free triangle gimbap with every 4 pieces. I got the spicy chicken (bukdak) which ended up being my favourite thing - flavourful, spicy and lots of chicken! It was wrapped in a way so that the seaweed was separated from the rice to ensure freshness/crispness I didn't heat up the tofu pieces, with hindsight, I should've listened to the recommendation. I have nothing bad to say, each piece was stuffed to the brim and tasty.

Yelp
We came to try Yubuchobap for the first time. Yubuchobap is a Korean-style inari sushi. Yubu means fried bean curd and chobap means sushi rice. These tofu pockets are small affordable snacks; 3-4 of these are perfect for a meal. There are oval tofu pockets, filled with sushi rice, and topped with various topping of your choice. There are up to 15 different toppings. We ordered the following: 1. Crab Salad Yubu ($3.79). Wasabi mayo, crab salad, red cabbage. 2. Spicy Salmon Yubu ($4.89). 3. Bulgogi Yubu ($4.49). Beef Bulgogi and garlic mayo. All three were delicious, including the tofu and sushi rice. The food stall, 2023-01-13, is located in a small food hall, possibly called "U Kitchen", on College St, just east of Beverley St. It is their second location; the first is at Huron St and Sussex Ave. Prices were dropped 2023-01-31 because they managed to negotiate better prices from their suppliers! It is mainly a takeout restaurant but there are a few seats in the food hall. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom downstairs, hence not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-033

Yelp
If you like inari sushi (tofu pockets filled with rice), this is heaven for you. YUBU specializes in yubuchobap (Korean-style inari sushi) with many varieties of toppings including fresh salmon, torched salmon (with a very delicious sauce), tuna, kimchi fried rice (topped with mini fried quail egg), crab salad, kimchi tofu, garlic mushrooms, seaweed salad, egg, and more (including vegan and vegetarian options). They also serve onigiri, bulgogi bowl, and cold drinks. I tried 3 of the yubu (fresh salmon, torched salmon, and garlic mushrooms) - they're all excellent and very delicious. The outer tofu skin is perfectly sweet in a savoury way. The toppings are delectable, especially the garlic mushrooms (love the crispy garlic in combination with the soft mushrooms). Loved the little bit of uni paste and tobiko on top of the fresh salmon. I also tried the tuna onigiri. I liked that the tuna inside was flavourful and contained very minimal mayo (barely saw or tasted the mayo at all, which was awesome). But I wish there was more of the filling in the onigiri (it was still mostly rice). The rice in both the yubu and gimbap was perfectly soft and packed at the same time, which held its shape well as a vessel. It was flavourful and had a nice aroma. The place is more of a take-out place, in the same building as a few other quick-serve food and drink vendors (Korean hot dog, bubble tea, yogurt). There are a few chairs to sit down, but no table.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. When you enter you go to the touch screen and do all of your ordering through that. You can select if you want one of the bowls, or if you want a pre-selected four pack of tasty treats, a choose your own adventure 3 pack. There are so many different options, the only thing that might cause some confusion is that the spicy tuna is not actually that spicy, but anything else that says it's spicy you better be prepared for. A meal leaving you completely full, satiated, and content for the rest of the day will run you about $20.

Yelp
This might be an unpopular opinion but an honest one .. This place is currently overhyped. It's all over IG and honestly I was disappointed when I tried it. It definitely looks better than it tastes. The presentation was good but it lacked any other flavour besides sweet from the tofu pockets. The inari pockets were extremely sweet and overpowered the flavour of the topping itself. They're small and definitely not cheap either. This is a one try, type of snack and that's it. Also, they only have 1 counter for check out in this store and line moves slow. Be sure to browse their IG to figure out what you want in the meantime.

Yelp
Really cute tofu pockets. Genuinely quite filling even though it doesn't look like a lot. Can get a little pricy though

Yelp
I have never heard of Yubu until it was constantly showing up in my search feed. So i gave it a try. I was sure how big it was because I order online via delivery. So the size was within my expectations since I know how big a regular fried bean curd is like. I ordered seared salmon, garlic mushroom, bulgogi, and tuna mayo. They all tasted good. They wrote a suggestion on the bag for warming it up about 20 seconds in microwave before eating due to the cold weather from the delivery. That was so nice of them. I do wished they put a bit less rice and more toppings tho.
