World's Scariest Bridges

"Rotting wooden planks, held aloft by rusty bits of wire, stretch out in front of you. You reach for a railing to steady yourself but all you find are two threadbare ropes. The howling wind blows the rickety footbridge from side to side. Somewhere below you lies the forest floor — you don't even know how far." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Absolutely stunning view, the drive to reach the place is very challenging and you have to show your driving skills as the road (curves)in mountains are very narrow and sometimes only one vehicle can pass at a time ,DRIVE ONLY IF YOU ARE A GOOD DRIVER , the place and the suspension bridge looked more beautiful as it is seen in photos ,some hard climbing after crossing it but one can sacrifice for this beautiful view . Definitely worth on a good sunny day ,

A very nice looking bridge. Be careful if you want to go in the evening. The last entrance for the bridge is much earlier than 5 pm we went there at 4 pm and it was already too late. So we are able to go around to the other metal bridge. The entrance fee is 500 Yen.

Finally made it! After a challenging drive and a scenic hike, we reached the breathtaking Yume no Tsuribashi suspension bridge. The journey was worth every step!

It was beautiful. It's not for the faint of heart. If you are scared of heights, I don't recommend going there. But if you want to challenge yourself, it is worth experiencing the pure beauty the area has to offer. There are rules to walking on the bridge, so please follow the rules. Safety first. The walkway to the Bridge is a little ify since it's built into a mountain and all, but you just have to be mindful of where you walk. Went there on a Tuesday in the afternoon on a partly sunny day, so there was no wind and not a lot of people walking on the bridge.

😭😭 amazing views!!!! It’s not easy to get there, but it’s definitely worth it! The turquoise water under the bridge, green mountains and the blue sky made a picturesque scene which you will never forget! I can say the views were breathtaking!

We went on a Tuesday at 1pm and nobody was there. It was so beautiful. My wife made me go and it was so much better than what I expected. It is truly breathtaking and we have never seen anything like it. The water is crystal clear and blue. The surrounding area is beautiful. I would have liked to have seen it before all the fall leaves were gone, however I know there would be so many people here. Our friend from Tokyo drove us there. The road to it has a lot of turns, very narrow, and you go up and down mountains. Also, when you cross the bridge, you are not supposed to cross it back (from what we read and heard). You are supposed to continue up a steep mountain and circle around. With nobody there, we just crossed back and did not have to go around and do that steep hike. In the end, I recommend going at this time and during the week. Hardly any people and it is still beautiful.

Seriously my reason for not giving this place a 5 stars simply because it is more of a thrill and some excitement of crossing a narrow suspension bridge that is actually well constructed. There wasn't nice scenery at this place but you get good views while driving from Shikuoka city to this place. That drive was much more exciting.

What a beautiful place!!! The stunning water that can go from a green shade to a blue one depending on the weather is definitely worth a visit. Crossing the bridge can be both challenging and fun. Surprisingly, even though it's not stable at all, I felt very safe and secure on it. Be prepared for the way up after the bridge as the staircase seems to be endless. I had to make some stops on the way to catch my breath (just for the record, I'm not in my best physical condition 😅). Wear comfortable shoes for it's a long walk back to the parking lots area and if possible, plan your visit to a non holiday weekday. There's no cost to enter the park, but they do ask for donations to help on maintenance (non mandatory) and the parking lots are charged.
