Originally I booked a room for 10 days at this hotel but I cut short my stay there to only 3 days due to the poor conditions of the hotel. There were two main factors that played role in choosing the hotel -- one being the location and its proximity to the Metro stop Sportivnaya (Спортивная) and second the more economical room rate for someone who travels on budget like me. Well, as it turned out later for the same money, if not cheeper, one can get better room in a far more decent hotel, although perhaps in somewhat slightly more remote area than central location, like Izmayilovo, and that's exactly what I did. Apart from all that the Moscow Metro system is pretty well distributed throughout the city and easily accessible from various parts, however the only-in-Russian signs could present an obstacle to a degree, and to avoid that I fallowed Google Map app directions for public transport. ||The hotel is a sad relic of maybe not-so-distant commi past, which may present good chance for the more adventurous type of traveler and those who harbor curiosity towards the more "authentic" way of stay but it certainly failed to fit my needs. The reception staff has limited English skills but perhaps justifiably so since most hotel guests are Russians. I was upgraded to a standard room, which was rather smallish. constrictive space that doesn't offer a lot of space around the bed. The decor is a tribute to the country's past -- heavy red curtains and a red bedcover of the same fabric, tilted picture on the wall, and a TV set that didn't have any channels. I was so baked that I just needed to sleep, which wasn't so easy, the room got so hot and the air dry so I had to figure out a way to open the windows. On the positive side the bed was comfortable enough and the room had a small fridge. The view could've been spectacular only if the windows offered a bit more clarity. ||There was a breakfast buffet set up in the lobby area/cafe for 350 ruble, that offered some plasticy eggs, bacon, oatmeal porridge, toast, tomatoes and cucumber slices, coffee and tea. On my second day I got the stomach bug right after breakfast and I was glued to the porcelain god for the next 2 days -- it was pretty horrible. ||Once I slightly recovered I got my stuff and checked out.
