Yunque Mar Ocean View House

Beautiful hidden gem. We spent 3 nights here and it was so peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are super cute, and clean. It's right next to the water so falling asleep to the ocean waves was heaven. This will 100% be our first choice of hotels when we visit again.

Hotel is very clean and was a nice low budget place right on the rocks near the beach. There is no beach access... We stayed a few nights in January and it was a decent stay. Not sure what kept BITING me under the sheets while sleeping but I couldn't see any bugs in the mattress or room. This and the loud waves slamming against the rock and the hard mattress left me a bit tired each day. We stayed one night at another hotel south of San Juan and nothing bit me under the sheets there. The Luquillo neighborhood is run down but it looks like they are trying to build it back up with a few small guest houses and a bar. We didn't feel unsafe walking down to the beach but it is a bit sketchy and beach needs to be cleaned up. The staff and neighbors are friendly and helpful. The hotel no longer serves breakfast which was disappointing. You do need a car to get around to the local shops and attractions.

Stayed there one night staff was helpful to answer my questions. Rooms were very clean, also quiet. Close to almost everything. I forgot my husbands shoes in the room, the hotel called me to let me know they found them. I have stayed in a lot of small hotels, i truley recommend this small hotel. Will be staying there more often.

We only stayed here one night between airbnbs I already booked and when I say I regret not being able to stay here longer- I mean it. Calling the staff “accommodating” would be a bit of an understatement. We had special needs that they happily accommodated (thanks Liz). Furthermore, staff happily recommended nearest grocery stores and restaurants. Not too mention, the views were fantastic and the linens and pillows were not only comfortable but COOL (which- when staying in San Juan, a/c was a luxury). In my ten days of being here, this hotel was the most personable and comfortable.

Pleasant stay, nice staff, nice basic necessities. This place is right on a small beach, so close that with strong waves, a few waves will lightly slap against the wall and splash a little onto the pool/lounge area. Not sure I would stay here again. Facility was nice, I just got bored because of high waves that we couldn't actually go to the water. And kinda isolated so you'd need a car to get to any of the closest food places. The only food served at the hotel is breakfast from 8AM-9:30AM.

My boyfriend and I were extremely impressed with the view El Yunque Mar had to offer. Our room was on the 2nd Floor, sadly there is no elevator for heavy luggage. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. Thankfully this hotel had their own parking lot directly across the street. The hotel amenities (pool area, rec area and bar) were so convenient. The size of the hotel room was very big for a queen mattress. My only complaint would be the shower floor needs to be scrubbed. I would stay here again.

Excelente location, very quite safe & clean. Close to everything, beautiful beach scenery 🇵🇷highly recommend it!! Such a rebooting & relaxing vibe,, customer service is great!!

Rooms are simple but nice, clean, and quite affordable. Staff was very friendly, welcoming, and made good recommendations of places to visit. Great location, quick drive from San Juan airport, and near El Yunque national forest and Fajardo.
