"The Catalan capital is no stranger to design-oriented boutique hotels — maybe only Buenos Aires has more, on a per capita basis. But Barcelona’s stylish yet relatively understated Yurbban Trafalgar has something not many of its competitors can match: a pint-sized roof terrace, complete with plunge pool, offering far-ranging views of a city that’s more commonly seen from street level." - Tablet Hotels

Rick Steve's was correct. This is the best hotel to stay at in Barcelona. Location is great (just 3 to 4 blocks from city center). Great neighborhood. Mass transit easy to reach. Can see so many sights from the bedroom big balcony or rooftop. Nice pool. Beautiful inside both this hotel and it's sister hotel. Nice breakfasts. So many amenities that there are too many to list but was surprised to see how much they want to take care of those who stay with them. Laundry service was nice, wifi to use in the city was nice. So many other items we didn't use but people would love. Pharmacy and supermarket close by, plus Banksy museum 2 doors down. We highly recommend and will be back if we go back to Barcelona. Price was fine too.

We had a lovely time. The hotel was brilliantly positioned for exploring the city. It had a lovely vibe. Very nice staff. Not too formal. They do a free wine and cheese/meats hour each evening that gets all the guests congregating and meeting and is a lovely start to an evening out. The room was very clean; bathroom was well appointed; bed was comfy; breakfast was good. Roof terrace was a lovely place to sit of an evening or in the day. Just a really nice place to stay and very convenient.

My wife & I wholeheartedly agree that Yurbban-Trafalgar Hotel is a wonderful place to stay! We loved our room, the facilities, all the little perks (Happy Hour benefits), and most importantly, the personalized, helpful, and very personable service from all the staff we met. In particular, Lukka was there every day to generously guide us in our Barcelona adventure - very friendly, knowledgeable, & most helpful to us. Likewise, Bartender Ben from Ireland provided similar service in your next-door "sister hotel." Great job! Thank you!

The staff at the facility were amazing. They spoke english and were more than willing to answer any questions. The hotel rooftop was a nice end of the night spot as well. Our favorite part of the hotel was the free bicycles which allowed us to experience Barcelona and cover alot of ground. Would stay again if we were to visit Barcelona.

Overall, we had a nice stay at Yurbban Trafalgar. The rooms were definitely on the small side, but they were clean and well maintained. They provide premium toiletries if requested. I like how they also provide a glass bottle that is refillable. Everyday they have a complimentary cheese and wine hour in the lobby area with free pouring red wine, white wine and sangria until it runs out. They have a small gym and rooftop pool/bar area. The location of the hotel is very central and walkable. The rooftop has a nice view over the city. The service was friendly however, I had to take one star off because we asked the gentleman who checked us out to ensure one of the guests we had met during our stay was given a bottle of wine we had left him, but the guest never received it which was very disappointing.

This was an excellent, safe, comfortable boutique hotel in walking distance of much of what we wanted to see in Barcelona. Oh, and did I mention quiet and peaceful? ||My recommendation is based on a six night stay in a double terrace room. Many reviews I read for hotels in Barcelona mentioned them being too far away from things or being close but then being much too loud. We booked the Yurrban Trafalgar based on good reviews in both areas and they were correct. We slept really well every night in our dark, quiet room. My other concern was being somewhere without good AC in August, and this was not an issue. We had a thermostat in our room and the AC worked great. ||Other highlights:|The front desk staff were all wonderful. |The lobby and restaurant are stylish and have a calm atmosphere which we appreciated after being on the go all day. |We enjoyed going up to the rooftop bar for a drink. It has a great view of the skyline. |After one long, hot day of sightseeing, we dipped our feet in the pool. It was always busy with sunbathers, but the pool was usually empty. |The evening happy hour was great. I especially loved the cheese that was offered. |The shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and lotion provided all smelled wonderful. It was also nice not to have to pack those items.

My stay at the hotel was truly excellent. Every interaction, from the warm and attentive staff to the high quality of the services, made me feel cared for in a very special way. What impressed me most was the feeling of receiving much more than I had expected—what I would call a true experience of overdelivery. It turned my time at the hotel into something not only comfortable, but also memorable. Thank you for making my stay so special.

Google
We had a great time at Yurbban Trafalgar. The room was comfortable for its size and had thoughtful touches like a fridge, kettle, and refillable water bottle station in the lobby. The free happy hour with wine, cheese, and picos was a nice bonus. We loved using the hotel bikes to explore the city, and the bed was super comfortable after a long day out. The rooftop was also a great spot to relax—especially the lounge chairs, even though we didn’t get a chance to use the pool. Highly recommend for a comfortable and convenient stay in the city.

Yelp
I'm preparing for my return home to the U.S. from a trip to Spain that I actually hadn't planned, but I suppose I'd always secretly dreamed of. My home base during my wonderful trip to Barcelona was at the Yrubban Trafalgar Hotel near the city's Gothic quarter. The hotel is thoroughly modern and offers all sorts of quirky touches, not to mention a wide variety of amenities - including a wine bar, laundry, bike rental, a workout area, breakfast, and a rooftop deck and swimming pool area that offers spectacular 360 degree views of the city. The staff are also professional, efficient and very accommodating. I came to my senses a few days ago when I realized that I'm not actually a Spaniard and I'd been living a shock-induced lie. The last thing I remember of my previous life was driving to mid-town Ventura in California to get a coffee when a semi-truck veered into my lane and just missed turning my tiny car into a twisted heap of plastic and metal. I'm sure that I must have gone into shock, because I've no memories after that event until I inexplicably found myself working at a small, family-owned insurance company in Barcelona - mostly handling client services, minor administrative tasks, and selling a few term life policies. Stay away from whole life, it's a flawed investment strategy that will likely undermine any promised advantages with exorbitant fees. As I've explained to my ex-wife and children many times over the years, playing first base for the Los Angeles Dodgers and selling affordable insurance products in the Catalan region of Spain have been my dreams since I was a young boy. Not surprisingly, I was fired a few days ago because I exaggerated the extent of my insurance expertise to my nuevo jefe. Plus I speak only conversational Spanish - and it would have to be a very brief conversation with perhaps only a moderately intelligent Spanish child. Being fired and then, while walking home from my office, getting accosted by an inordinately aggressive pigeon in a deserted Barcelona alleyway, shook me out of my crumbling insurance-related delusion. I learned while staying in relative luxury at the Yrubban Trafalgar Hotel, however, that one must be prepared if one's dreams are to be realized. I was not prepared. But I will return. Regresare Barcelona y segura! In the meantime, I started cleaning up my old first baseman's glove. Gracias Yrubban Trafalgar!

Yelp
i absolutely love this hotel. very welcoming staff with great english in a good area that's close to the craziness but not smack in the middle of it. lobby smells amazing with good music playing in the common areas. pool is small, really just enough for a cool off dip but the rooftop view is amazing with a bar for drinks. happy hour 6:30-7:30 in the lobby with free wine, sangria, & cheese. espresso machine & water refill station in the lobby that's available 24/7. room: decently sized (larger than NYC hotels) with great AC, nice bathroom and shower, comfy bed and sheets, mini fridge, plenty of storage space, and basic coffee maker and water in room. breakfast at their sister hotel next door is incredible. not included but amazing price for what it is with eggs and coffee made to order as well as a buffet of pastries, breads (with tomato!), fruits, veggies, yogurt, juices, meats, cheese, etc. also: self serve CHAMPAGNE. their sister hotel also has a spa with reasonably priced services and water circuit (going later so will update with how it was!) services i'm not using but are nice touches: fitness center, free bikes and wifi hotspots (subject to availability), helpful maps of the city, self serve laundry room, lots of work spaces/tables in the lobby (which again, smells SO GOOD. i can't get over it). i travel a lot and am rarely impressed by hotels unless they're absurdly priced. this place is already reasonable af plus i got an amazing deal on hotel tonight so i am shook at what i paid for this top tier stay. i will absolutely stay here again if i'm ever back in barcelona!

Yelp
Definitely a nice place to stay. The rooms are updated. The AC though it has a max if you set it to continuously run it can get nice and cool. They provide shampoo, body wash and lotion though no conditioner and the body wash is pretty watery with no wash cloths. They have a laundry room with free access to the washer and dryer which is great- I think you have to bring your own detergent otherwise someone donated a bottle while we were there. If you have access to streaming services you can connect your phone to the TV since all the channels are in Spanish of course. They have a small gym in the basement which is pretty well equipped. There is a wine hour with decent wines and an espresso machine. The staff are very pleasant and can make recommendations. The location isn't fair. About 0.3-0.5 miles from most spots and location felt safe at night. They do have a rooftop which is nice but as most people said drinks are overpriced and pool is a bit cool. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Yelp
I had the absolute pleasure to be a guest a Yurbban Trafalgar during the week of March 6, 2024. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. I loved the decor and aroma of the lobby and common lounge/work area. The evening wine and cheese was a real treat. I also appreciated the efforts to be green, including access to fresh drinking water and a reusable bottle. My stay included breakfast next door in Yurbban passage - one of the loveliest and most delicious breakfast buffets I've had. I want to thank Nuria and all of the staff at Yurbban Trafalgar! PS - the rooftop terrace and pool is an amazing way to relax. This hotel does not disappoint! I will definitely be staying there again when I return to Barcelona! And, if you love up-cycled clothing there is a great denim clothing spot just up the street.

Yelp
I don't think we could have chosen a better place. Right in the middle of everything and about a block away from the main metro subway line that connects with all the other ones. We walked to the city's main attractions- Basilica De La Sagrada Familia, Barceloneta beaches, the Gothic district, La Borqueria market, and the Las Ramblas street shopping road. There were three stores within about 50 yards were we got snacks and water. The staff customer service was outstanding. They were always helpful and happy to answer any questions. They also had a washer and dryer with free soap. We were there in Feb so they didn't have the bar open on the roof. But it was still cool to go up there by the pool and relax. We took a couple drinks up there and enjoyed the view. The rooms are kind of small but true be told. If you're worried about a giant room, your probably not going out in the town enough.

Yelp
Great location, friendly service, modern feel, and a roof deck with ridiculous views make Yurbban a good choice for a stay in Barcelona. The location is nicely central; pretty much everything in the core of downtown is a 15-20 minute walk or less (Sargrada Famlia is probably 25), and there are several train stations nearby. Service was friendly, and they have several useful paper maps of downtown (including the train lines) to make getting around easier. The hotel feels new (or fairly recently renovated), and has a very modern feel in the lobby and the rooms. The mattress was a bit firmer than we like, but they have a really impressive selection of pillows, depending on your preference. We liked that the shower had both a rainfall shower head and a normal wand; since I prefer one and my wife the other, we were both happy with the hotel shower for once. Probably the best single feature of the hotel though is the rooftop deck. It being January we weren't going to use the dip pool, but on a hot summer day it would be lovely I'm sure. Even without using the pool though, the deck had several lounge chairs and normal outdoor deck chairs, so in the warmth of the afternoon we were certainly not the only people enjoying the view and the sun. One feature that we didn't try, but saw that they offer, is free WiFi hotspots to use as you wander the city. Before you pay data roaming fees to use GoogleMaps, it's probably worth asking at the front desk about the loaner hotspots.

Yelp
We had a delightful stay at the Yurbban Trafalgar, and I'd definitely recommend it to urban millenial travelers who are looking for somewhere well-located, hip, friendly, and very Instagrammable. Keep in mind, this is a boutique hotel -- this isn't the kind of Hilton/Marriott/SPG-type property that I'd tell my parents to stay in, and it's definitely geared toward a younger, social-media-oriented crowd. They have a consistent scent story starting in the lobby and continuing to the amenities in the bathrooms, so FYI if you are smell-sensitivity. If you're expecting white glove service and overabundant amenities, check yourself in to a different hotel. This is for people who are looking for a cool, friendly, modern place and who have graduated from hostel life. I downloaded their Porter & Sail concierge app before arriving, and was able to indicate my early check in through the app. When we got to the hotel just before 10AM, our room was waiting for us and the concierge at the front desk was amazingly kind, gracious, and helpful in navigating us through the hotel's offerings and our geography. The extra touches here that we really liked: --Wine O'Clock every night with cheeses to nibble on and complimentary, self-pour red/rose/white wine. Great to have before heading out to dinner! --The free hotspot you can take around with you all day as you're out and about. This totally saved us in so many ways; we were able to navigate, make reservations, and keep in touch for free. Don't forget to ask for this at the front desk! And bring a battery pack with you; the hotspot requires a standard mini USB cable. --The rooftop! Yes, the pool is tiny but the view is amazing, and there's an area reserved for hotel guests. Things that needed improvement: the hangers are made of cardboard, the gym is pretty sparsely appointed, and there's no iron in the room. Otherwise, we loved the modern aesthetics of the Yurbban and the super-friendly and knowledgeable staff -- I'd definitely recommend this to laid-back, chill travelers looking for somewhere cool to stay.

Yelp
A very nice hotel located near the Gothic Quarter. The hotel is modern and very hip. They have a lot of great perks too. They offer a cell phone to use that is supposed to provide you with the ability to alway have wifi, so you can research places, use maps and make local calls. We couldn't get ours to work, but the city is very wifi friendly and we had no issues just using our phones. The other big benefit of this hotel is they offer free a laundry machine and detergent. A definite bonus if you are staying awhile or going elsewhere in Europe. Always nice to have enough clean undies. The rooms were clean and surprisingly the windows were of good quality and really blocked the noise from the busy road outside. The rooftop pool and area have nice views of the surrounding neighbourhood. The hotel also offers a nightly happy hour of wines and cheeses. There is a restaurant as well, but we didn't try it. Overall it was a great place to stay and was a close walk to all the sites.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this hotel!! I definitely plan on going back to Barcelona and this is where I plan to stay again!! Staff was amazing! Always friendly and helpful. Always smiling, definitely makes you feel welcome and happy to be there! Hotel was lovely, nice and warm lobby, the fragrance was very nice made you want to sit and relax. They have wine o'clock every night at seven pm, nice time to have some cheese and wine, meet other guests and share stories. The room was nice, not huge but had what we needed, a huge bed, TV for downtime and a nice shower with a lovely view of the city. They also provide you with a handy phone so you don't have to use your data. Perfect for your social media and Google maps. The rooftop pool was nice, although it was February, too cold to swim, sitting up there and having a drink was very nice and relaxing. Finally, the location of the hotel was perfect for us! It's in the Gothic Quarter,, not fancy but not bad. Metro was down the street, easy to get anywhere you need to. We did about 10 miles of walking a day for the ten days we were there. We went to the top spots, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, the beach, La Boqueria, Las Ramblas, Arc de Triunfo de Barcelona, every spot we had our eye on. Plenty of places to eat, some of my favorites were right around the block, Casa Lolea and Churreria Laietana. Although I see a lot of people refer to this hotel as a hipster spot, which my husband and I definitely are not, it's a great place to stay for your trip to Barcelona! You're their to see the city, the niceness of the hotel is a bonus!

Yelp
Rooms are a little small and square. We have also had to wear ear plugs every night due to all of the noises heard through the night... Walls must be thin. The positives...great location and helpful staff.

Yelp
This is a great find. Amazing location, close to great restaurants & public transit, modern decor, & great rooms. Also, the rooftop deck has a pretty sweet view of the Gothic Quarter. Decided to stay here because it's trendy & speaking English/English signage is catered to here. The front desk guys in bow ties is also a bit cheesy but it goes with the chic vibe of this hotel. Other things: Small gym & sort of expensive breakfast. Nonethless, would stay again here in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Day 1: First impressions, beautiful hotel & room. Great front desk staff. WOW is the perfume fragrance in the room strong! Interesting lighting controls. Your room card has to be left in a slot by the door for the lights to work. Closet with 6 hangers but no drawers for storage. Day 2: I woke up this morning frustrated with noise. Sounded like construction or loud maintenance. I almost called the front desk. My wife woke me at noon and I realized the noise wasn't unreasonable at all. I was just sleeping late. The noise was from construction next door. Yesterday we asked if they could tone down the fragrance. Today the housekeeping left a note stating that they didn't use the "fresher" products. I'm not sure what that means, but it does seem better. Lots of quirky things about this hotel. No washcloths. Nightstand on only one side of the bed. Took advantage of the free wine & cheese @ 8:00 tonight. That was nice. The person @ the front desk lent us a Bic lighter so we could light a candle on our patio. Day 3: Asked for washcloths today; we'll see if they come through. Sometimes it's the simple things. In their quest for a minimalist/modernist design, they don't include things that others do, like a clock. If you wake in the middle of the night, you're not really sure of the time. Rooftop pool & bar is very cool. Not the best in town (probably Hotel Ohla) , still very cool. Day 4: When I asked about washcloths, I think something was lost in translation. They gave us extra hand towels. Maybe washcloths just aren't a Barcelona thing? Another curiosity is there is no hotel guide in the room describing amenities, the neighborhood and so on. Day 5: Tried the complementary laundry. Pretty nice set up. Front desk gives you a room key and detergent pod. The only negative is that there is only one washer and dryer. If your wash is complete and someone still has clothes in the one dryer, you have to wait around with some wet clothes. Dryer seems to take a long time. To be frank, it might be the worst dryer ever. Clothes come out steaming hot, rarely dry. My wife says this is the nicest hotel shower she's ever been in. It's kind of tricky to get used to. The left knob controls temperature and intensity. The right knob turns it on and is a diverter to either the top spray head or the handheld. There are no instructions on this; just trial and error. Stayed September 2016, traveled as a couple

Yelp
Negatives: - Room size is small Positives: - Everything else...good location - Responsive and helpful staff - They have a washing machine for free which was great - Really amazing fresh lemonade at the reception - Good view from the rooftop

Yelp
I was very close to rating this hotel 5. I thought the room itself was really clean and modern with good amenities, but a little small. The location of the hotel is really great since it's close to La Ramblas, shopping district and gothic quarter. Other than Sagrada Familia, I was able to pretty much walk to all the other places I wanted to hit up in Barcelona. My main concern was that I felt the staff to be somewhat non responsive at times and that kind of brought down my experience a little bit. Other than that, I really liked the room's layouts and its location. You don't need to reserve too early, since I noticed rooms were still available close to the dates. Also, I think booking on online hotels sites probably get better rate than their website, especially if you are doing it in USD and want to avoid foreign transaction fee.

Yelp
Spain was fabulous except for my unpleasant stay at Yurbban. Where do I even begin? It's an over-priced and over-rated hotel. Your money would go further elsewhere! Cons: -My sense is that they don't value their customers and don't treat them well if there is no financial incentive for them. They refused to let us check in early even though they had free rooms unless we paid an extra $350. Instead they made us wait in the lobby (which consists of 2 tiny couches) until 1pm. -The rooftop POOL is the size of a king size bed. Unless you want to be in seriously close proximity with another guest, it's not for you. Don't let the photos posted fool you otherwise. -Basic things that would be complimentary almost everywhere else (like hot water to make your own tea) cost money! They won't let you sit in the dining area (even though it's a continuation of the lobby and common areas) unless you've paid to eat at their "restaurant". -Breakfast is mediocre at best. Not worth the €15. -Hotel rooms are TINY. Beds are very uncomfortable. -No iron in the room. Must go to lobby and borrow a key to the laundry room (which is like a small box and very stuffy) to iron clothes. Then you babe to return the key. And then borrow it again the next time you need the iron. Very inconvenient! -Lots of failed attempts at witty signage/quotes i.e. "no smoking unless you are on fire". Umm. No. Not funny. -The hotel building is undergoing construction (outside). Less than ideal for a vacation. I will stop there. I think I've made my point. By far the worst part of my trip to Spain. I will never stay there nor do I recommend it to anyone else.
