Yurts of HI was the contractor on my build in 2019. They installed my catchment. I paid YOH for a brand new liner, for which they invoiced me and for which YOH accepted payment. Her subcontractors installed a liner that had a hole in it which they patched up but told no one. A new, undamaged liner is meant to last more than 10-15 years. Mine failed after only 6 years because the glue on the patch wore off and my catchment leaked out all my water. I had to buy water. The low water level burned out my pressure pump, so I had to buy a new pump. So far, I've had to spend over $3000 for a new liner, pump and water.
I am dealing with her now to try to get recourse, but she refuses to accept any responsibility and rather is trying to lay the blame on a subcontractor she used and whom she later fired because of some substandard work or dishonesty; this sub has been out of business for some time.
I gave her two options: that she either reimburse me for all my expenses because of the dishonest work, or pay me for just the materials I've had to purchase. I believe this is reasonable. Yet, she is refusing to accept any responsibility.
