The current chef serves a superb meal. While in Japan I visited and eat twice. The menu is amazingly put together and every dish is fantastic! My girlfriend and I enjoyed chef Ryo’s recommendations in a course style. The menu was focused on Enzo deer and it did not disappoint as some of the best deer I have had in addition to the many other plates. Overall a well-priced menu. The top notch Hitachino beer on tap also takes the cake! The store itself is cute and has a nice selection of interesting foodstuffs.

Old fashioned, simple, healthy and light. Perfect breakfast / brunch to start the morning and a welcome break from the usual Tokyo fare.

One of my favourite meals in Japan - the Japanese chilled red and pickled ginger were beautiful. As a vegetarian and someone who can’t read Japanese it can be difficult to find meals without meat. But this place provided delicious meals, a beautiful location and chilled vibes as you watch the solo chef calmly and efficiently make all your meals. Must visit

Nice staff, food (plates to share) and sake. Relaxed atmosphere. Could not ask for more after a first intense day visiting Tokyo.

This may have been a product of culture shock however I'm concerned the restuarant is anti-foreigner. We were visiting Tokyo from Australia for only a few short days (*edit to note we were 2 people). Reading great reviews of the food here and its unique wholesome menu made me think it was a must visit. I decided to go on a week night for dinner and arrived around 7pm. There were no lines. My Japanese wasn't very good but I was told the restuarant was booked out for the night, however I noticed the high tables with seats along the wall were totally free. I decided to order take away instead and while we were waiting, the waitstaff offered us a bench at the uber eats pick up table in the corner. It was a quiet night and I noticed no customers entering at this point, I was hoping they would let us eat at the bench since it was so quiet however when I asked - they told us it wasn't possible. Take out is take out. I left feeling very confused and almost concerned, were we turned away because we were foreigners? Or do restuarants prefer to close early once all bookings have been served? I had come all this way and honestly the place was quite out of the way for us but I intentionally came to try the food. We needed to eat so we ended up having the take away outside the nearby hostel. Additionally while the rice and soup was hot and delicious, the protein sides in our takeout was cold and firm to eat. I assume the chicken option was a tempura inspired side but because it was cold - the batter was soggy and tough. Were we supposed to heat this after we got to our accommodation? While we ate outside the hostel, we observed that no more customers entered the restuarant that night. It didn't feel good and I wish they had better explanations or at least foreigner friendly info cards as I'm sure many tourists are also visiting. It would also be good if it was made clear on their socials/website that reservations are preferred for dinner service. However I did note that you can only call up to make a booking and as a tourist, most foreigners would not be able to do this.

Really nice and tasty food. Good size portion and frequently often by locals. Fried chicken is to die for.

Japanese traditional meals and grocery shop in an antique house. The diet there is based on brown rice (very sticky like mochi) and vegitarian side dishes. The miso soup bowl is full of chunky veggies and made me happy. Self service cafeteria style...take your tray and pick ones you like, pay at the cashier. Put your tray away by yourself when finished.

delicious. I felt carefully cooked and healthy one by one. It is probably because the price is a little high for many elderly women. One difficulty is that there is no friendliness of the staff.
