The location, in some ways, may be most convenient, but there are other places with the same level of convenience.
The ambient noise is loud enough to block sleep. The windows open or close the sound levels remain the same. Sounds from traffic and trains lasts till 2:00 am and starts again by 5:00 am or so. However, the ambulance sirens every 5-10 minutes lasts all night long.
The A/C room allocated to me was small with barely enough space to walk around. The comfort of bed and pillows were below average. The linen could be better, wear and cleanliness point of view.
The electric water kettle comes with coffee, tea, sugar, etc. but there is no place to plug-in the kettle. I found a 3 pin socket beneath the table that I accessed with difficulty, but the electric chord of the kettle permits placing it only on the floor.
The curtains do not cover the windows completely. The TV, and the telephone in my room did not work.
The hot water is solar powered, enough warmth at 8:30 am to have a bath. The air conditioner was new and worked very well.
The front desk staff is very helpful and prompt. The delays in check-in are not because the staff is slow but the protocols are tedious.
I found resources being wasted. Lights and fans were ON, on other than ground floors. Small placards can be places asking guests to turn off when leaving the area. Lights ca be turned off by excessive security staff (who are three in number) from time to time.
There are rules & regulations for day guests, but none with regard to corridor/ aisle silence.
I booked this place primarily to support the good work being done here for women. But after seeing the amount of wastage of resources I wam thinking twice.
