Z Deli Sandwich Shop

First up from the “snacks, appetizers, and salads”, we ordered the ZFC. This was an extremely generous portion of marinated and deep-fried pieces of chicken. The chicken was succulent with a soft but crispy batter. It came garnished with gherkin (great idea!) and a sour cream dipping sauce, which I originally thought was mild cheese. The Pastrami sandwich was wonderfully rare hunks of pastrami with a lovely amount of pepper. It was served a milk roll with a strong mustard and mayonnaise mixed with gherkins. On the side of the plate was a pickle. One of the most perfect pastrami sandwiches that I have ever tried. Our second choice in sandwich was the Reuben. This was presented on toasted rye bread. Filled again with the pastrami accompanied with cheese, a special sauce, hot mustard and sauerkraut. Not that we needed them but we also couldn’t resist ordering some Z Deli fries. This variety were skin on with fresh rosemary. This was also a substantial portion. To go with all of this we had two of the Brooklyn IPA beers, which were a perfect pairing to the food. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal!

They have unique sandwiches and hamburgers. They are not cheap but not so expensive. The sauce of the fried potatoes was so good.

I went to Z deli sandwich shop expecting to taste something similar to New York Pastrami, but I was absolutely disappointed, the pastrami does not have a good taste, and it was dry, I had to add a lot of mustard to make it acceptable. All the people around were ordering Hamburgers, maybe it was my mistake thinking that the pastrami was the specialty of the place. French fries were awesome.

Very cosy place. Really small, there are like 3 or 4 tables in there. there is a balcony also where you can eat standing on the outside of the shop. The walls are made of this NY old subway tiles and there's always some good music playing on the speakers. The costumer service is good, young and educated people. The food comes fast. The burger. So, it's maybe the best burger in the city talking about about taste, but for me, when we talk about burgers, we're talking about taste and size. I reckon they're quite small. But not so small to make that a problem, it's just because I like big burgers. The bread is really good, just missing a little bit of butter. Probably the best burger in São Paulo. I recommend the NY burger and the fries with cheddar.

Delicious burger and fries. Juicy, flavorful meat patty, soft yet good texture bun, able to taste all the ingredients. Great spot, o highly recommend.

Don't worry if you can't grab one of the few seats in this cosy locale, find a spot at the counter or the platforms on the sidewalk. You will regret not ordering the pastrami. Fries and a beer are the perfect partners.
