One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was getting married at Zaca Mesa Winery. We instantly fell in love with how remote it is and how you truly feel like you are surrounded by nothing by nature. It’s set back from the street so we didn’t have to worry about cars zooming by like at other venues. Between the vineyards, the oak trees and spring/summer poppies, the setting is absolutely picturesque. Not only is the venue stunning but the staff, especially Tara Creighton are top notch. It was important for us to be able to connect with the staff and Tara did an amazing job of working with us and helping to manage the event on the day of. She truly went above and beyond and we are so very thankful for all her help. Zaca Mesa was very flexible and catered to our specific desires and vision. The site fee was very reasonable and it allowed us to spend money on other details like live music vs paying a fortune for just the venue. Another one of our favorites things about Zaca Mesa and arguably one of the biggest factors in our decision, is their wine. The wine is delicious and being able to choose between both Tread and Zaca Mesa wines allowed us to have the variety that we were looking for. Our overall experience with Zaca Mesa was incredible. We are grateful for the memories we made there and for all the incredible staff that helped to make our day perfect. If getting married in wine country is your dream, check out Zaca Mesa, it will not disappoint.

I came here one gorgeous spring afternoon with my parents for a wine tasting and BYOB picnic. They have seating outside where you can bring your picnic and they will bring the wine tasting series to you. We all opted for the red tasting flight because Zaca is really known for its syrahs. The wines are superb and the woman serving us was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines, it was such a treat. It is really a wonderful experience and we all came out buying several bottles. The property is absolutely stunning and really worth a visit.

Google
The woman that helped us was completely inept. We told her at the beginning what type of wine we liked and she gave us everything but. We finally settled on a wine after four tiny tastings, and then she told us she would have to charge us for a tasting. Really sad because we used to like their wines but now that they’ve sold out would never go back. Really bad wines and incompetent pours. The one that helped us was completely snobbish. I have no idea why it’s not exactly a snobbish type Winery you lost a major customer because I’m a member of multiple wineries in the valley..

Google
Beautiful quiet landscape the enjoy wonderful wine! The wines were surprisingly flavorful, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Google
Dog friendly winery, we had a lot of fun here. Plenty of parking, clean bathrooms. They had free wifi but no cell phone reception. Not a lot of seating inside, tons of patio seating. We were very happy with everything we had here.

Carrie K.

Google
Good wines and nice property. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We did a red tasting flight and they brought the wine outside to where we were sitting. After the tasting, we ordered a bottle to have with our picnic lunch, which they encouraged. If I recall correctly, buying $70 worth of wine waives the tasting fee.

Google
Zaca Mesa Winery and the entire team is simply THE BEST! My husband and I got married in October 2024 and toured the venue roughly 2 years prior. Would you believe me if I told you Zaca Mesa was the first and ONLY venue we toured for our wedding? We loved the property and the people SO much that we didn’t need to look any further. We booked it right away! We were beyond satisfied with everything! Tara, the events manager, is an absolute dream to work with. She is so kind, so responsive and very helpful. My wedding planner even told me Tara was her favorite venue coordinator she’s ever worked with! It is truly a magical location and we could not recommend them enough! My guests were raving about how gorgeous the venue was! And the wine! The wine is smooth, delicious, and affordable. We wish we could get married here over and over again! Obsessed!!!!

Google
When making your list of wineries to visit when you're in town, don't forget Zach Mesa! I think on the Foxen road it's become one of my favorites to visit for both the wine and the relaxed atmosphere. I LOVE the Tread label. Specifically the Pinots are fantastic. I think the other one that I loved was the Z-Three. This place is very kid friendly and even have some chickens on site and a giant chess board. Very nice, relaxed place with fantastic wine!

Yelp
This winery is beautiful. The surroundings are magical and the employees are friendly. I went there for a makers market and it was just lovely. Live music, food, offerings, and local goods. Love supporting small business and love their wine options.

Yelp
This is a nice, quaint winery. The grounds are beautiful & the wine is delicious. They have several different wine clubs to choose from & is able to be customized.

Yelp
Great service! Friendly and quick to help us. She gave us suggestions too. There is a life size chess board. The bathrooms were clean! The prices were reasonable too. Nice patio with a breeze and shaded areas.

Yelp
They have succeeded in creating the perfect vibe for a local winery - elegant without pretension, welcoming. We loved their holiday event in December 2024 and will come back in the future, hopefully for another event. Stunning views of local mountains and grape growing. Excellent staff. Dog friendly.

Yelp
As I was told there was no water to drink when asked for a glass of water. New ownership they suck. Very rude. Will not come back. The water I was told was Non Potable

Yelp
They had a holiday event here so we came in to enjoy some wine and food from a BBQ truck. Large space with several indoor and outdoor seating options. Beautiful view of the mountains and wine fields as this is at the Northern part of Foxen Canyon Road where you pass many wineries on the way. I liked their Pinot Noir and the Syrah. Staff was very friendly and greeted up warmly. Dog friendly too. Thanks guys -- we'll come by again next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Just had our wedding here and it was amazing ! Wine and vibes were perfect. Jake was super helpful and great to work with

Yelp
This is a cool looking winery from the road, and the space is nice, but is pretty vast. While they do a nice job overall, it just felt like they were more churning things out. We enjoyed most of the wines. They have some great chardonnay and pinot noir options. They had a company called Crabby's Crab Cakes making some quesadillas, sandwiches and salads. We were there a little later in the day, so he was out of a lot, but he was super nice, not crabby at all, and what we got was tasty.

Steph A.

Yelp
Jacob's service was above and beyond and really added to our experience at zaca mesa. Husband and I each did a tasting and we left with a couple bottles and the Torres chips (don't sleep on the truffle chips yall). Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I would genuinely love to give 5 stars, as this is a lovely place to visit, lots of seating, attentive & knowledgeable wait staff, and a large selection of wine to enjoy. We came for our reservation, our table of 6 shared a couple of bottles, and we were enjoying a table filled with charcuterie snacks. Over an hour later a man, not sure of his status or title with the winery, came to tell us we "have 4 minutes to leave." No warning, and we were not out of control or obnoxious. There was a wedding they were getting ready to host, and I get that. I truly do. So, maybe when we arrived earlier he could have given us HIS time frame, maybe he could have come to us with a 10 or 15 minute warning, maybe he could have been not so abrupt and rude. But to tell us we have to be gone in "4" minutes; it's just poor customer service. Our server was lovely, so obviously it makes me wonder and hope that he doesn't speak to his staff or co-workers like he spoke to us. We are locals who spend several days a year in Foxen Canyon enjoying the different wines and peaceful surroundings. I think we can pass on Zaca Mesa in the future. Obviously losing our service is not going to hurt their business or bottom line; but I would sure like to give my business to tasting rooms who show their guests more respect and kindness. I make mistakes all the time and try to reflect on my behavior if I know I've come off as rude. I hope he can do this and learn that possibly his choice of words, tone, and attitude can use a softer touch with paying customers. I hope he wasn't rude to the bridal party. Those people chose Zaca Mesa for their wedding; it would be sad if he soiled even one minute of it.

Yelp
We signed up for Sip and Paint event with my cousins at Zaca last Sunday. Basically you get a glass of wine and some painting supplies, an art instructor walks you through the steps of painting a picture for $45. We had a lot of fun painting and drinking wine. Their Viognier is pretty good, we ended up getting a few bottles to go. Beautiful grounds and outdoor tasting area. Unfriendly staff (makes this place a 4 star) Customer service makes or breaks the experience. Will keep Zaca Mesa in my bookmarks for future visits to the wine country.

Joseph T.

Yelp
I had an amazing visit! Our server Gavin was so friendly and the wine tasted beautifully! I loved the location and everything about my experience. So much so that I actually joined the wine club that day! I highly recommend a trip out the Zaca Mesa, it's a beautiful, rustic, and lovely place to be.

Yelp
This is my friend's fave winery. Came for the annual Black Bear Dinner, this year being the 50th! Very pretty set up, looked like a wedding dinner. The food was good/fine. It could have used more salt/gravy, but the food was catered by a different company. Would come here again in a few years for another Black Bear Dinner. I've also been here for a wine tasting, but it was to hang out with my friends since I don't drink. It's the last winery of the "row." Staff at winery were very nice, friendly, attentive, and helpful.

Yelp
This review is long overdue (from May 31 2022) - My girlfriend and I stopped by Zaca Mesa on the way home from an around the state road trip on our way back to Los Angeles from Lake Tahoe. We got there right around when they opened so it was fairly slow. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess (Summer) and proceeded to do a tasting - All I can say is WOW - this was the absolute perfect way to start the end our vacation. Summer was phenomenal from her knowledge on the wines, her hospitality, and honestly making the winery one of the peak highlights of our trip. Not only was she amazing from the tasting aspect, she provided us a voucher/ coupon to a nearby restaurant and it was the cherry on top to a memorable vacation. From the wines, the vineyards, and the hospitality, Zaca Mesa gave us a beautiful life long impression. If you are still with the Zaca Mesa team, Thank you Summer! We will never forget our experience there.

Yelp
Incredible find! We have always heard great stories about this winery and finally made our way over. First of all, beautiful location and such a comfortable setting to relax and spend time. I need to give a shout out to the amazing (bartender?) who listened to our tastes and suggested an amazing 'Z' blend. Spot on, Sir! We don't remember his name, but if you see a friendly Viking-looking bartender there, he will really take care of you. 6 stars.

Yelp
Wedding related review :) and also just amazing experience in overall other than wedding Beautiful and such a stunning place to get married!!! We had a lovely time at Zaca Mesa since the first visit. Even when things didn't go our way due to the lovely oak tree had finally hit its time, they were willing to work with us to get the once in a lifetime experience we want for our guests. It became a blessing in disguise, and with their support they made the wedding even better than expected. Tara was so on top with the communication and she answered every question. She was thoughtful with the details and offered us so many ideas to help with the wedding planning. Thank you to all the Zaca staff and owner, Stewart!!!

Dain V.

Yelp
The staff, especially Jacob, was very knowledgeable, patient snd helpful!! The atmosphere was amazing!

Yelp
We can't thank the staff at Zaca Mesa staff enough for making our wedding day everything we had dreamed of and more! The venue is stunning, the wine is delicious and the staff are outstanding. From our initial wedding inquiry to the day-of, we immediately felt welcome and knew we were in good hands. Pricing is clear and transparent, the list of furniture for use during an event is extensive, and communication with venue staff is excellent. Zaca Mesa went above and beyond to make our dream wedding come true - our guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was. Special thank you to Tara and Jake for all of your help and planning expertise over the last year!

Yelp
First time here. Rachel and Austin were so personable and friendly. Rachel could have a podcast of wine stories that you could push play and fall asleep to. She tells stories with so much passion, we just had to buy half a case of wine. Try to get the reservation on the terrace under an umbrella. It's so peaceful and the view takes all your cares away! We highly recommend for the wine, service, and ambiance!

Yelp
Very pretty woodsy property. Sat in the terrace room with a beautiful view , Very dog friendly, with comfortable seating. There are 2 tasting menus to choose from and Summer did a great job guiding us through them. A nice selection of Chardonnays, Syrahs, and Pinot Noirs. Grenache Blanc and a Syrah were our favorites. Summer was well versed and ready to answer our questions.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
***4.5 stars rounded up*** Zaca Mesa Winery was our second stop this past Sunday and it did not disappoint! In fact, we all had a really great time here. I was excited to hear that they specialize in Syrah, and even more excited to hear that it happened to be National Syrah Day and they were celebrating with a Syrah tasting of 5 for $25. I couldn't actually verify if it was Syrah Day or not, or whether they always have a Syrah tasting for $25, but the marketing got me. What can I say? I was feeling good. While wine tasting, we enjoyed both the inside and outside areas. They had a corn hole game set up outside that we played for a while. Service was quick and friendly. It wasn't crowded at all, which was nice. Prices are in line with other wineries in the area, and I particularly enjoyed the decor and ambiance at this winery. Overall, I thought the wines were good, but perhaps not as impressive as I was hoping. A couple of the Syrahs were forgettable, while a few of them were very delicious.

Yelp
As the past couple of years have caused turmoil for all of our lives and changes for many businesses Zaca Mesa still tries their hardest to accommodate everyone We have been club members since I don't know when Today we went for our pick up and thought maybe we would just taste while we were there No longer an option for walk ins however they gave us the option of a glass of wine and hang out and enjoy the wine and property ! Perfectly fine this was great I wanted to shout out to Cathy whom always is busting her butt to be sure everyone is taken care of and the young man working the club lounge today. I appreciate all of you !

Yelp
A beautiful, family friendly winery with some fabulous wines. We lucked out and were seated midday on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend without a reservation. It is a pastoral property - no ocean views, but it is gorgeous. The outdoor patio has a variety of wooden picnic sets and other tables and chairs as well as a full sized chess game. Our server was gracious and accommodating - even sharing some member only wines (smart lady, we became members). We loved our time here, and there are some delicious treats in the shop. We were also super happy that you can enjoy your own picnic here. We look forward to coming back for future member events.

Yelp
Such a family friendly winery with a actually good wines. Zaca Mesa is one of those wholesome wineries where you can come to relax and enjoy good wines with kids or pets. We have been coming for past few years and experience has been consistently delightful. I am particularly passionate about their Syrahs and friendly service. A mustn

Yelp
Updated review - The manager reached out and wanted to make our experience right. They invited us back to give them another opportunity. We just left after having a very positive experience. Original review - The wine itself was pretty good, but the service was pretty poor. There were two women working there. The one we had was very cold, snobby, and uptight. It kind of ruined the experience. The other one was nice, but we only saw her at the very end when we were paying.

Yelp
Great place for wine tasting, events etc etc. friendly people, good wine, beautiful property. Worth a detour.

Yelp
I love Zaca Mesa. In my opinion one of the most beautiful properties off Foxen Wine Trail. Everytime I've been there they've been fun, easy going and serve some of the best wines in the area. The views and great wines are worth the stop.

Yelp
WEDDING VENUE REVIEW ONLY - the wine is great too :) Overall rating: 4.5 5-stars for the venue, amenities 5-stars for overall event management services 4-stars for contract management, account management 4-stars for day-of experience We live up in San Francisco and were fortunate to host our 25-person wedding at Zaca Mesa in May 2021. We were the first wedding to be hosted after they completed their estate renovations, including a new private tasting room, and a walkway to new outdoor event hostings spaces. Zaca Mesa was a rare find that we stumbled on as a result of many specific factors we were seeking: 1) We wanted to be married in Santa Barbara County 2) We did not want to spend more than $5k on a wedding venue (which is nearly impossible to pull off in the City of Santa Barbara) 3) We needed our wedding to be entirely outdoors for COVID safety reasons for our family and friends 4) We wanted the freedom to pick our own vendors We had a COVID wedding and so appreciated how great the staff was at helping guide us through all possible changes, restrictions, and questions. We booked the outdoor-only space, sight-unseen in December 2020, based on photos and videos shared by staff because they made us feel confident in their abilities to provide a great venue. And they truly did provide just that! The new site was gorgeous in springtime. They have a beautiful walkway to an open picnic area (usually reserved for tastings) that connects to the lawn and vineyards walkways. It served as the perfect entrance for the bridal party! They had ample space for wedding vignettes, guest seating, dining tables, and a large dancefloor (for up to 350 guests) between the lawn area and the courtyard under the oak tree. The lawn and vines are well-maintained and they had planted new spring flowers around the courtyard area for the event. Prices may have changed since 2021* 1) The outdoor-only space starts at an affordable price point (~$2000 for 2 hours with an additional cost per hour for up to 6 hours). 2) You can include the private tasting and view rooms (starting at $5500 on weekdays), but if you want to book the indoor space on the weekends it costs more ($7000+) since they lose a whole day of wine-tasting revenue you rent out the winery for the day. They plan for wedding guest arrival time to start right when wine-tasting hours are ending, so your wedding will not have random guests watching your ceremony. They WILL however host private events in their tasting room on the same day as your wedding if you only book the outdoor space unless you book the full site. Included in all their packages is access to an equipment inventory (tables, chairs, heat lamps) which help save on some rentals cost elsewhere. Wine and beer only; you must purchase their wine but they have wonderful varietals with both affordable and high-end options! Originally, we connected with Danielle, who was their new Events Manager hire starting up their wedding venue business. She led all the initial conversations, and contract negotiations, and provided insights into the venue. Later on, we worked with Ileana who was hired onto Danielle's team and managed our month-of, day-of planning and coordinated all logistics. Both we extremely professional, responsive, also friendly, and had great vendor connections, too - they introduced us to our wedding planner! They provided 2 additional staff for the day-of who were also exceptionally helpful, especially with breakdown and clean up. There were a few things that could have gone better. Since ZM is rather new to hosting weddings (+ COVID restrictions added quirks), it was noticeable that they were trying to figure out what were their policies. 1) They didn't put the additional costs per hour in the original contract or in the pamphlets they sent us. When COVID restrictions changed and we decided to add more time to our event we had to do more negotiations around the additional cost because it came in much higher than we expected. They were extremely kind and gave us a slightly discounted rate though 2) The change in who was managing our event was a bit abrupt and led to confusion around what equipment we could borrow from them. It took a few conversations to get realigned, but we were in great hands with Ileana in the end. 3). They were super awesome about letting us bring beer and sparkling wine from outside vendors since they do not sell/produce those items. However, they wouldn't let us one unopened, large-format bottle on site (it was our guest book), even though they stopped making that size years ago because it was from another winery. Our wedding planner decided to put it out anyway and at one point the conversation got pretty heated with the staff. We tipped them heavily for the inconvenience but for the last hour of our wedding, they weren't speaking to us much which made things awkward for us. We loved this venue and hope this helps others find their magical day here too!

Yelp
I'm glad you are trying to cover your business, but that was not the case. Your staff had continued to change and didn't know what to tell the bride. Consistency would have been nice. Again, the rude staff the entire event will not be forgotten.
google avatar

Brent M.

Yelp
Was a member for almost ten years, but recently the wine and service have tanked. Received several rude calls telling us to come pick up our shipments but when we arrived it took an hour to get our first two tastings. Had to go inside to get the rest because the tasting room "was slammed" despite being half empty. Mediocre wine, but cheap. Certainly has a clientele, but it won't include us in future. Would rather give our money to Foxen or Demetria for top notch wines. Only reason to go to Zaca is the large space, but the service is poor and staff are rude so if you need space go to Fess Parker.

Yelp

Yelp
An absolutely fabulous experience. After being turned away because of no reservations or only inside seating at several other wineries, we stumbled upon Zaca Mesa and so darn glad we did. Sitting in the comfortable patio setting away from pretense and snobbery, we enjoyed our flights so much that we joined the wine club. Fish was our server and he was so informative and helpful. Each wine was excellent and low in acid and tannins, which is more our style. Looking forward to enjoying music, Pinot and paella and every other event they offer. We belong to 2 other wineries and while their wine is excellent, they don't have the outstanding amenities like Zaca Mesa.

Marissa U.

Yelp
We reserved a table and Hillary was extremely rude, she came in and yelled at us for singing happy birthday and then when my family clapped at the end of the song she came in and reprimanded us like a bunch of kids saying "IM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU AGAIN" We were told other guests next to us were complaining about us being "loud" by Hillary the server. We then asked those guests if this was true and they said it was not and joined our party. It's clear that your workers are upset they have to work on Saturday's. We proceeded to close out our tab and leave this place with no intentions of coming back. #rude

F W.

Yelp
We came in 4 strong, had a tasting, and then each bought 2-3 bottles each. We really liked the quality of the wine, the vibe, and also our server/hostess was nice, earnest, and worthy of a good mention here on Yelp!!
google avatar

Meredith C.

Yelp
This place is amazingly beautiful and peaceful with delicious wine. The staff is so nice & welcoming, and extremely patient. I was there on Saturday of the holiday weekend & my husband & I were having a lovely time. It was VERY busy & a group of people showed up in one of those big white vans... I'm guessing Zaca was not their first stop. They were so LOUD & obnoxious. Rowdy parties are fun, but a winery is usually not the right venue for that type of gathering. In order to maintain the ambience, the young manager kept asking the revelers to keep it down & they just got louder & louder. At one point one of the guests was singing at the top of her lungs in the tasting room. Now I see they have left some negative reviews, so don't let reviews like that steer you away from this awesome place. There's two sides to every story, We will be back soon!

Terri N.

Yelp
Is is a bit of a drive to their winery tasting room but the setting is nice. It was very warm but there are shady tables. We didn't see an option for inside tastings (where the A/Ci is!). Our server was very friendly and the mixed tasting fee was $20. Unfortunately we didn't love any of the current offerings so we didn't make a purchase on this visit. But that's all personal taste.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Tastings are $10 per person (glass is not included). Famous for Syrah. Beautiful room.

Roxanne B.

Yelp
The wine is very good and they have a large selection. The server was friendly. They have a lot of outdoor seating, but the inside is small. They only had 2 tables. Otherwise you need to stand at the bar.

Yelp
Came to Zaca on a beautiful day to celebrate my birthday with some friends, had an absolutely great time! Hilary set up our table under the oak tree, it's a gorgeous setting. Rachel and Megan were so helpful in the tasting room to my friends that were interested in buying wine and Marlisa give us a tour of the cellars. I will absolutely come back to Zaca Mesa.

Abel T.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I recently enjoyed one of our best wine-tasting experiences at Zaca Mesa Winery. We were celebrating our 3-year anniversary and wanted to experience the best wineries in the Santa Barbara County area. The customer service at Zaca Mesa was top notch, the ambience was warm and relaxing, and the wine was amazing. While all of the wines we tasted were delicious (in particular their Syrahs, which is what put them on the map) , our favorite was their 2019 Repose - a great blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot (we liked it so much, we took a nice bottle to continue celebrating back home!). Having gone to Napa and Temecula numerous times, I can say that our experience at Zaca Mesa was one of our favorites. Not surprisingly, Zaca has been one of the best wineries in the Santa Barbara County for decades (it's celebrating its 50th anniversary this year!). It's easy to see why. We'll definitely be returning soon to experience more of their tasty Rhône-style wines and amazing ambience.

Yelp
This is my favorite winery in SB county. The wine, the setting, and the staff make it a memorable experience every single time. My fiancé and I are members, and we are actually getting married at Zaca! The wine: Zaca is known for Syrah. You can't go wrong with any of their options, although my personal favorite is the Estrella. Their Grenache Blanc is my favorite white, and you can stroll those vines right by the entrance. The Tread Wines are also very well-balanced, and definitely showcase what the entire wine region has to offer. Tread offers Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vibe: What I love about Zaca is that it is not pretentious. Everyone is very chill. You can lounge on the picnic tables in the courtyard and even bring some of your own snacks. I also recommend going on a walk to the oak tree area. You can take in mountainous views, which are truly unmatched. Wine club: Join the wine club. You won't regret it. They have multiple tiers, depending on how much wine you want. The tastings are a huge bonus. You get free tastings for up to four people, and the chance to sit in the members-only lounge and patio, which gives you unobstructed views of the mountains. Though it is a bit of a drive from Santa Barbara, it is absolutely stunning the entire way, and 100% worth it.

Yelp
Scheduled a tasting for a Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. Zaca Mesa has a great selection of Rhone style wines, with an emphasis on Syrahs (the had 8 on the menu the day we went). I got the red tasting and my wife got the mixed. The pours felt a bit small for the $25 (reds) and $15 (mixed) price tag. But our server was kind enough to allow wife to swap more whites into her mix, as that's what she prefers. Her favorite was the Chardonnay, which was very lightly oaked. I was really amazed with the Moudverde, which I've never had as a stand-alone, only in blends. I love Zinfandel, but this may be my new second favorite varietal The outdoor patio had a nice cool breeze and plenty of shade. When we arrived at 1:30 I thought we might have the place to ourselves. But by 2 it started to fill up We brought our own picnic lunch and enjoyed it at the table with out son I believe they serve food when we aren't in the pandemic, but they encouraged us to bring our own today We bought several bottles and can't wait to do some comparison tasting with the family

Yelp
This winery majors in delicious Syrah. I love to come here only during non peak times like winter. I went during Memorial Day weekend this year and it was pretty packed inside but one of the tenders were able to snag us a spot. Great! The outside wasn't full though. The red tasting is alot more expensive (at $25) than their basic (mixed) but that's ok since I knew I'd buy some bottles and the tasting will be waived. We bought a total of about 6 bottles and I'm seriously considering a subscription here.

Yelp
Really enjoy the view from the new tasting room that is open on Sundays to club members. Our service from Matt today was excellent. He was polite and answered all our questions. When we went to pick up the numerous bottles of wine we purchased is when we encountered problems. A misunderstanding over $4 ruined our nice wine tasting event. The guy w the long beard needs to have a better communication skills.

Yelp
I have always heard such good things about Zaca Mesa, and was excited to visit today. It's a bit of a ways out to their location but a pretty drive. We got there, on a Tuesday, and there was a line in the tasting room to be helped. I heard one of the two people working there say they were short handed. At the front of the line, we chose which tasting we wanted and were seated outside with menus. And then waited. And waited. The one waitperson came by after a while and asked if we'd decided, we repeated our choice. She brought two glasses and said she'd be back with the wine. And never returned. I saw her serving other tables and spending a significant amount of time chatting with the customers. Another couple that came in right after us had the same experience, but didn't even get glasses. They eventually got up and left, and we followed suit. I say all of this because I work in a tasting room myself and know how critical it is to make sure customers are greeted and served and to show you're glad they're there, even if you have to hustle. Talking with customers and sharing the stories is awesome and ideal, but doing so leisurely, and at the cost of customers just sitting and sitting, is not ok. I get that they're short handed, I've been there, and if I saw they were working hard ensuring everyone was helped I would have been much more understanding. Might have just been a bad day, but too bad such a long drive to have to turn around and leave.
