An amazing place with an amazing view. When you book your room, book the ocean view. Depending on the time of year, the price of this resort goes up and down. But when you have the ocean view, you will see one of the best sunsets in your own balcony, see the ocean and beach with no building obstruction and in many stays, you will see pods of dolphins going back and forth in the ocean! Every room is a suite and every one has two full baths! With a queen size pull out couch, it’s perfect for families! Got a small microwave, mini fridge and a small sink in the mini kitchen too. So if you have many refrigerated items, you will need to bring a cooler or buy one at Walmart for about 27 dollars for a 48 qt because the fridge is small. They have friendly staff that will help if any issues come up. Ricardo, the Assistant GM of the resort is a super hardworking and caring individual who roams around the whole compound daily even on his days off to make sure the guests and the facilities are doing great. He really does care about the whole place. In the restaurant, you have the Letty, the manager and Selena, one of the servers who are both amazing on what they do. Both are hardworking individuals who makes sure the restaurant guests are satisfied. The staff here are all amazing. ||Now, there are some issues that needs to be addressed and fixed. |The hot tub jets are not working properly. I know this won’t be a minor or easy fix, and it may require for the hot tub to be shut down on a prolonged period of time, but only two jets are working for a big jacuzzi. |On some of the rooms, the air conditioning unit doesn’t cool down properly even when engineering tries to fix it. This again will not be a minor fix. The ocean breeze helps a lot on this situation and windows can be opened with the screens on.|The elevator at Golden needs to be serviced by the elevator company. It keeps breaking down and it’s not on engineering’s fault. The door hinges on the elevator doesn’t close the doors properly sometimes and it cause the elevator to not work. |Some of the couches need to be reupholstered or replaced because of scratch marks from the fabrics already. It’s a pet friendly resort and some guests should really be liable if their pets damages anything in the room when they leave them unattended. |One final thing, please place a full size fridge on the presidential suites . Presidential or many executive suites I’ve been to always have full size fridges. The Presidential suites are amazing though and if you want to treat yourself, stay in one of these suites. |All and all, the place is definitely worth coming to. It’s an amazing resort with an amazing view with a great staff!

Very nice stay and lots to do at the hotel. Beautifully laid out, with a fine dining restaurant on grounds. Full size basketball court, tennis court (with faded pickle ball lines as well). On a great stretch of semi-private beach with good surf. Rooms are showing their age, but they are roomy and comfortable. Great Valet and Door persons. Check in would do better to include showing guests to their room in a somewhat complicated room lay out. Hotel offers 2 hour credits for rental equipment that includes boogie boards, tennis rackets, board games, a phonograph and LPs and several other choices. Almost certainly will stay here again.

We have stayed when this was Embassy Suites. The remodel is lovely. We had a great room. There was a glitch in the upgrade price but was handled quickly at the front desk, not perfectly as we saw it, but acceptable. The room was lovely and the view unmatched. Everyone was very friendly.|We did not have a car so don't know about the parking and safety.

We booked the resort pass for the day for our second time because we love this place so much. Fantastic for the little ones who like to have pool time and also going to the beach. What really made the experience the best was the service at the pool by Lara. She was so friendly and accommodating! Lara is definitely an asset to their service team. The young man that was working the area with her was very nice as well. Didn't get his name. On our way out I had a couple of questions for the front desk and spoke with Tylor. He was very professional and kind. We left with big smiles on our faces thanks to these team members. We 100% will be back. Those interactions with such fantastic people made it that much more memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better Sunday.

My boyfriend and I came for my birthday weekend. I was so impressed with this boutique hotel. The entire staff was so friendly. The bartender Molly was very attentive on a busy Friday evening. Our room attendant, Irma was also vey sweet. They have an adorable Airstream on the property serving up great coffee and food. We had a breakfast burrito and a sandwich which were great! There is a game room with a bar and multiple TV’s. We watched as our Dodgers play and win in the wildcard! We were lucky to have a suite with a view! The beach was so relaxing to listen to as I read a book with a glass of wine. I honestly can’t wait to come back and bring friends!

It’s amazing how one person can affect your whole experience. On our case we had the amazing Tyler who checked us in. We first checked in on the app and when we got to the room it was clear it was not for us, went to the reception desk and as greeted by a very professional person named Tyler who said to us, no problem let me help you, and he did. We now are in a room that not only fits us but when we got some food and wine we continued our amazing experience here with more beautiful staff. This is our first and definitely not our last time here. I would say we found our new beach retreat. Thank you to the management and staff who clearly care about providing an incredible experience. Oh, the entertainment is a great touch.

While the resort itself is beautiful and well-maintained, I was quite disappointed with several aspects of my stay. First, the parking fees feel excessive – $45 per night seems unreasonable, especially given the condition of the parking area in building section H. The area at the end of that section looks more like a storage site for old mattresses or a makeshift warehouse, which gives a very poor impression. Additionally, the $25 credit per person doesn’t go far when prices at the restaurant are so high — for example, $19 for one avocado toast and $7 for a glass of juice. It feels like every dollar counts, but unfortunately not in the guest’s favor. Overall, while the location and setting are lovely, I’m not sure I would choose to return given the value for money and overall guest experience.

What a disappointing experience! I booked direct, party of 6, an ocean view room. Check in was at 4, we arrived shortly after 5 and our room was not ready yet. We were offered a $50 food/beverage credit and given keys, but no room number, so the bartender couldn't comp the drinks. Our room was finally ready at 6:30, so we go up and the keys don't work. We head back yo the front desk to complain and are offered an add'l $100 food/beverage credit, but it's only good for that night. By this time the only food options were Ox and Ocean. That $150 credit didn't go far for a family of six (our children are 12, 11, 14 and 17), our bill was $270. So much for making up for the inconvenience. The issues continued. We were placed in a room that was on the end of the building. This meant that our entire room and balcony were about a foot more narrow (we stayed here the summer before and had an excellent experience). The slider is replaced by a door and small window and the other half of the wall is solid and covered by a curtain. See pics. That means no ocean view from the inside. Also, the other side of the family room wall apparently houses mechanics, we heard something cycling off and on the entire time. To enjoy the ocean view you must go on the balcony. This is completely fine as the balconies are typically large and have lots of seating, but our unit appeared to be in the exact flight of daily poop bombs of the seagulls. The unit last year did not have this unfortunate feature. Again, see pictures. Look, I understand this is the beach and they cannot control the seagulls, but cleaning the bird feces isn't part of regular housekeeping. You have to special request it and maintenance will come hours later to clean it. Except this happens daily, so it's an issue. Lastly, the shower drain was completely backed up, so not only do you end up with 3" of water in the shower and it stinks in that bathroom like sewer! The rubber seal has been removed from the bottom of the glass shower door, so water leaks all over the floor. We used more towels mopping it up than we did drying off and this is a huge slip hazard! Upon check out no one asked if we had a good stay. They really didn't seem interested.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place , we live local and finally decided to splurge and get a room for a overnight getaway. First impression.... Horrible, the lady who checked us in was so rude , I hate that it set the tone . Room was okay , carpet is kinda yucky going into bathroom , room is clean .. smells musty . You definitely need to open door and window to air room out. The view is absolutely amazing , I guess that what you pay for.Because customer service and room are not worth the price.

Yelp
One of the best resorts I've stayed at in California hands down. Defenitly the best hotel in all of Oxnard, CA and a must if your staying in his area. This hotel/ resort is beachfront and truly a beautiful propert. Recently updated to the Curcio brand/chain, this hotel has it all. Located in Oxnard Shores/ Channel Island Harbor, you will find this resort oceanfront. Talk about being steps away from the beach from your hotel room, this place truly checks that box. One of the best things about this resort is that every room is a one bedroom suite, massive rooms! I had the pleasure of staying here for 16 nights for work and I felt like I was staying in paradise. The weekends can get very busy and chaotic and service talk a small dip but Monday through Friday everything was great and service was phenomenal. A side note here is that parking will cost you $45 a night if you park your car yourself or $50 with valet. You can park on sunset for free but you got a 5 min walk to the hotel talking the beach walkways. Hotel has one resteraunt and bar with an airstreamee serving up food and drinks in addition. The pool area is gorgeous and the waterfalls throughout the property are a nice touch. Thank you Zachary Dunes for a memorable stay. I will defenitly come back again. Till next time .

Yelp
I have stayed at this beautiful hotel for the past few years but this time I was so disappointed. What was supposed to be a relaxing one night stay to get away turned up being a sleepless night. I had room 200B. People were running up and down the hallway, the AC unit was rattling, and people were yelling back and forth throughout the night. I didn't get any sleep. It was ridiculous. It was so bad that I don't want to stay here again. That's really how bad it was. I came back more tired and stressed than before I went.

Yelp
Beautiful beachfront hotel, great for families. Lobby and lol area are amazing. LA resort worthy but more laidback. Side note the young lady working the sundries store in the lobby on 9/23 was absolutely the nicest! What a great representative of the hotel.

Yelp
Lots of yummy local beers to choose from Bartenders selection was great I tried the Artic Haze IPA

Yelp
I stayed there for a night because of a conference i had, the room was very clean with a beautiful balcony and ocean view. The lobby is also very nicely decorated and clean. However the pool area is overwhelmingly busy with so many kids running around, definitely not a place to go if you are looking to relax.

Yelp
This was our second time staying at Zachari Dunes and we love it even more. The staff really goes the extra mile to make you feel relaxed and welcome. We just love the Ox and Ocean. The service and food are next level. They really have built a remarkable staff. There was a power outage during our stay and they were so prepared. This place is worth your time and money. It's a great combination of old school and modern. But the staff really makes it what it is. It's such a relaxing, fun atmosphere. Go check it out for lunch or brunch if you need convincing to book a stay!

Yelp
We stayed at Zachari Dunes over 4th of July weekend for a quick coastal getaway. The weather was chillier and windier than expected, which made it tough to enjoy the beach, but the overall experience was still pleasant and relaxing. The location is great for walking to nearby restaurants, one even had karaoke night, which added some unexpected fun to the evening. We also had lunch at the resort's restaurant and really enjoyed the fish tacos and guacamole (though it was more like mashed avocado, still super tasty!). Valet parking was convenient and the staff was generally friendly. One small miss: we asked about a local botanical garden just 15 minutes away, and the front desk staff didn't seem to know about it. A minor thing, but a little surprising given the touristy area. That said, we slept great and appreciated the peaceful vibes. Lots of amenities around, and it's an easy spot for a chill weekend trip. They even had yoga out by the beach this morning. Would recommend, just maybe bring a jacket if you're visiting during summer!

Yelp
Upon driving up. To departing. What a great experience. But why not 5 stars? I'll get into that. Let's do it! Upon checking in I was taken care of immediately entering. Staff was extremely polite and professional. The entry was is beautiful. This place I have to say is such a hidden gem in this area. It's nothing you'd ever expect. I opted for the 1bd 2bath king suite with balcony ocean view. It's a bit far from parking just be aware. It's not a short walk. Upon walking into the room it was very clean. Room is fairly updated. A few things I found wrong and why it's 4 stars. Both lamps in the bedroom USB ports do not work at all. Guest bathroom ( bathroom in entry way ) smelled like sewage the moment I flushed. However I told the front desk about the sewage smelled and it was fixed right away. I had forgot to mention the USB connections which I will make them aware of shortly. You've got your usual stuff. Small fridge. Very cold. Small microwave. Works fine. Small sink and bar area inside the room. The small sink was very useful. Balcony was well taken care of. Chairs outside were clean and new. Let's get into some of the amenities. Pool and jacuzzi. Very clean area. Jacuzzi is HOT it's perfect! The walk to the pool and jacuzzi there's little waterfalls and streams all over. A great ambience. Towels and water located by the pool. So how was it overall? This place from my understanding use to be an embassy suites. And now what it is today known as Zachari Dunes. The rebrand and remodel is great. I will definitely return here as the staff, room and amenities are exactly what I'd expect to a place like this. I definitely recommend checking it out. However I believe some of the rooms/buildings aren't as Updated and nice as beach front ones. Just be aware of that. Which I'm sure will change overtime. I noticed them repainting and updating the stairways as well. So slowly but surely this place is being completely changed for the better. Enjoy!

Yelp
Was really enjoyable and peaceful when I came here! The room was very clean, had 2 bathrooms & 2 showers, plenty of hang out room with a main living room and separate bedroom which was a plus and nice cozy balcony area to sit out and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and beach. Parking is an additional 45-50 dollars pending valet or not (50 for valet, 45 for garage) which I hate paying for parking when I'm already paying to stay at the room anyways lol but regardless was a clean & friendly environment. The TVs don't connect to Netflix or anything unless you bring an HDMI cable so keep that in mind. Also wish that they had more than just 1 trash can in the room especially with how tiny it was. They have direct access to the beach & there are plenty of restaurant options there or nearby to go to as well as a hot tub & pool option and even massages, you'll certainly have a great time!

Yelp
We decided to take a short getaway from LA, so we stayed at this hotel just an hour from us. We have visited this location before for drinks and food but this was our first overnight visit. We read mixed reviews of this hotel so we were wary of staying overnight! This Curio hotel was bought by Hilton recently and renovated. So What drew us to this hotel? This hotel is directly on the beach. The beach behind the hotel is nice and wide and clean. Plus there is a nice walkway around the beach. The beach is also typically pretty quiet, especially during late fall into winter. The hotel features a nice pool area and garden. Plus rooms have direct view of the ocean or partial views. We were provided an expansive room with 2 bathrooms, family room and a bedroom. The room kinda reminded me of a doubletree hotel, but the space was bigger. Plus we had a large deck outside with patio furniture with an ocean view. The view from deck was lovely but unfortunately no views of the ocean from the room in building C. The room also featured a wet bar, fridge and a high boy dining room table. The room was clean as you should expect from any hotel. The hotel still features some old factors. The elevator looked a bit out of date. They could use a face lift to reduce the scary effect. In the rooms you can see touches of the old too. In all a pretty good facelift. Some things to note about the hotel: the drinks and food are not cheap. With that said you are at a resort. The resort does charge for parking.

Yelp
This was the best experience we had for a weekend getaway. So relaxing. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The 1 bedroom suite was so comfy, spacious, clean and so welcoming. We love it here. The restaurant on site 100% perfect!!!!!! Breakfast and dinner ohhhhh so good! We will definitely be back. Love love love this!!!!!!!

Yelp
I've been staying at this property for decades. This trip I checked in and Kris was the lady who helps me get checked in. Let me tell you, Kris was such a pleasure to deal with. Just fantastic. Told me everything I needed to know and did it without sounding like she's done it a thousand times. The rooms? Aren't even rooms. They're suites. Two room suites and they've been completely remodeled. These suites are so nice that all the other hotels in the area should be out of business. This is a resort, not a hotel. I only stayed one night but I wish I was staying a week. Beachfront suites on what may be the nicest beach in California. Don't even think about staying anywhere else. And if you're lucky Kris will be the first smiling face you see!

Scott S.

Yelp
Had an amazing stay there recently. Rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Loved having two bathrooms and a sleeper sofa for young'ins. Staff was helpful, polite and eager to go out of their way; especially the front door and valet folks. Jordon the server was great too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Our birthday celebration concludes tomorrow. Unfortunately, following the disappointment at Ox & Ocean, we opted to leave the resort for the day and spend the day in Santa Barbara, where we had lunch and dinner. We will check out tomorrow from Zachari Dunes where initially, we chose to stay because when I booked the days I was reassured that my mother's birthday would be recognized, making her feel welcome. Considering the expenses incurred this weekend, I estimate that our mini-vacation costs will exceed $2,000, prompting me to reassess whether returning to Zachari is justified.

Yelp
I wanted to give this hotel more stars, because the location and the mattresses and the front desk (especially Tyler and Michelle) are excellent. You can't really say enough about the fabulous location. What could be better than the Pacific Ocean hugged by sand dunes! And a great mattress is what a good hotel should start with, and this one does it spectacularly. We've been in others rated higher that had mattresses that were old and lumpy. Driving into the hotel entrance, it is obvious by the very architecture that this hotel aims to impress. So the things that disappoint hit harder. The ambience for dining here is wonderful. Indoor or patio dining with excellent t service--quite inviting. What detracts is the food, which is middle-of-the-road at best. I wanted the pumpkin soup and grilled cheese but they have a pre-made soup that includes the dreaded Canola oil. I'll skip the Round-Up and hexane residue. So I ordered just the sandwich, and made a BIG point, as y'all expect from me, to specify NO CANOLA, please grill in butter. The $20 soup and sandwich became a children's menu grilled cheese. Ok, fine. But white bread, tasteless cheese, and $16 (pricey for a bland sandwich on ordinary bread), evidently priced for a side of fries in, you guessed it, CANOLA. I was not offered a side salad or another choice. What part didn't they get? Ok, that's the food, not really about hotel. As for the room-suite, we were offered an upgrade of the garden or pool view. Both were first floor, both somewhat on the noisy side. A higher floor may be quieter We were not offered an ocean view, even though we are Hilton Honors Gold status. Hmm. In general we expected more value for $500 a night. Some other nits: the toilet paper holder in the main bathroom was installed improperly and the toilet paper constantly dislodged and rolled across the floor. The maids said they have repeatedly reported the problem with no response. The same toilet had incomplete flush which they did fix in request. The fan-light couldn't be adjusted for light only. There is no lobby coffee. The room coffee is so-so and coffee from Sugar Beats is only available on Fridays and Sundays. But when we did have coffees, they were good and competitively priced. We didn't try Happy Hour, which locals say is good. The chocolate bar in the gift shop was $12 for 3oz--that's about $100 a pound. lol. So it was amazing. But how about a Ghirardelli option too. One great thing: the hotel is a pleasant, easy mile and a half walk to Oxnard Harbor, and the harbor has wonderful restaurants and amazing ambiance.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel renovation. I've stayed here when it was Mandalay Bay, and they have really sprayed it up. I had the dune view with a small ocean view from my room. I was on a work trip so I wasn't expecting much. Very pleasantly surprised that they upgraded me. My only thing is that the food prices were extremely pricey. Fortunately, they have a food truck on-site if you want more affordable options. But it closes at 5pm except on Tuesday. They have happy hour at the bar also. Gets full pretty fast, so go early.

Yelp
Amazing get away. I like how every room has its private bedroom 2 full restrooms. Manager & staff are great! Pool area is very spacious. Oversized jacuzzi is a plus. Spa is a must! Kids game room next to pool is also great. View to beach and it's only a walking distance. Very beautiful breathtaking stay ALWAYS!

Yelp
Love the location. Right on the beach. 10/10 for the staff at the valet, front desk, servers by the pool, and the young lady ( I think her name is Taylor?) at Henry's. They made our little getaway better. The pool is heated, there's activities at the hotel but they need to update website. Most of the kid friendly activities were on weekdays. It would have been better if there were more food options. The restaurant doesn't have enough servers. The room is dated and needs a deep cleaning. My kids have a fear of spiders so when they saw the patio filled with spider webs they refused to go out there the whole time we were there.

Yelp
Effortless beach presence with expansive grounds and amenities. Classic CA casita architecture with bohemian chic textures and colors that flow seamlessly into the Pacific just steps away. Want to get refreshed and revitalized? Day or night, swing by!

Yelp
we recently did a staycation here right before back to school and we had such a blast. Spent most of our time in the pool, had some great dinners at the on-site restaurant and rented bikes and road around. Made memories to definitely remember!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Hilton locations. It's within walking distance to the beach, allowing you to enjoy the fresh ocean air. I took advantage of the proximity for a relaxing breather. The rooms were very clean, though the decor seemed slightly dated for a Curio property--I expected more California ocean vibes. I was surprised that amenities like bikes and beach chairs weren't included, especially since other beach and city locations like San Diego which offer them for free to diamond members. However, the option to rent items like Nintendo Switches and cameras makes it a great spot for families. The front desk provided some of the best service I've experienced at a Hilton. I wouldn't mind coming back!

Yelp
John L. was an amazing server, not only was he kind but he went out of his way to help us all parents out with our kiddos. Would love to see a friendly face again. Keep it up John!

Yelp
Great location by the beach! The hotel is older and has some modern renovations done at least in the lobby and conference room areas. The rooms are a little outdated. The room is comfortable enough but can be a bit loud if there's a lot of people walking around outside especially if you're facing the pool/courtyard area. The restaurant onsite Ox and Ocean is delicious but pricey. They also have a coffee cart and brunch spot that is a pop up by the tennis court area that seems to be popular for weekend brunch but be prepared to wait. Parking is expensive. However if you're looking for a weekend getaway by the beach this is a great spot for families and those who want to bring their pets.

Yelp
This would have been a two star review if not for the amazing ocean view, excellent valet and reception staff. The valet service is top tier, then again you are paying $50 a day for parking so it should be. The hotel hallways have piles of used towels and sheets that seemed to grow larger during our stay. Not sure if the hotel is short staffed or if the other guests were slobs. The rooms show the wear and tear of being a "family friendly" hotel. They could do with a very good deep clean. Wiping down the walls, doors and door jams would be a good start. The bathtub plug was broken, the shower had mold in the corners and the toilet paper holders were barely hanging on the wall. One final thought....carpet in hotel rooms close to the beach is gross.

Yelp
Very disappointed Hilton! So much potential but so many overlooked details. Great location, clean beach. Room/suite was clean but balcony covered in bird poop (not cleaned). Housekeeping unfriendly. Phone didn't work in room. Huge gap under door - easily accessible for bugs/rodents. Pillows too soft. Grounds were clean, except pool area seemed unsanitary. The happy hour food very disappointing! Raw/cold wings served three times in a row - can you say salmonella!! Best happy hour items were the fish tacos. Front desk staff cold and unwelcoming from the start - was never told the features of the resort. The Airstream food truck seemed cool except they appeared not prepared for booked hotel - long breakfast lines - very slow service.

Yelp
I've stayed here a few times and as some reviews have mentioned, they would give it more stars but.... For a place as nice as this, and a Curio collection, I'm really shocked how selective the cleaning service is. All around the beach front property is very nice and they do have great amenities but lack electric charging outlets and house keeping. Literally they only have one space to charge a vehicle. And most of the time the space is taken by a non evehicle or someone not charging their vehicle (really not the hotels fault).

Yelp
Booked a night at Zachari Dunes over the weekend and enjoy my stay! We stayed in a 2 Queen Suite with an Ocean view and it was absolutely wonderful. The beds were comfy, room was clean, super spacious and had two bathrooms. Check in, parking, and service was great. I would definitely return and recommend booking their suites!

Yelp
Very family friendly. Outside shower to rinse off from the beach by the pool. Hotel rooms were very nice. Staff were some of the nicest people I have ever met. I'm still talking to people that I met here. VISIT THIS PLACE!

Yelp
We had an event for 60+ people here, and it was HORRIBLE. Save your time, your money, and go elsewhere. SO many issues and they refused to comp or help with ANY of them. First, we were told by Sheena (don't work with Sheena... really any of them, but Sheena has been the most unhelpful.) that someone would come to help us to our room and that our host would be there shortly. Nobody was there and nobody came out entire conference. Then, the front desk with SO rude for the simplest of questions, like "where is the room?". They couldn't be bothered to show us the room we were holding the conference in, AND nobody spoke to us the entire conference. Then, we were told we'd get parking vouchers so that our 60+ women didn't need to pay for parking to leave and come throughout the day, but they didn't work. I called the front desk and she said "theres nothing I can do about that" and made each of our women pay for their parking. She was incredibly rude and unhelpful and later we found out they have a BUTTON THAT THEY COULD PRESS TO AUTOMATICALLY OPEN THE GATES. She just didn't want to. Then, there was a wedding below us and the DJ was doing sound check but it was causing so much noise for us upstairs during our conference. I called a number I was given during email correspondence (still no idea who is even supposed to answer considering I have not met anyone except the rude front desk gal) and whoever answered was irritated that I asked if they could turn it down a little bit. It got to the point that she audibly groaned on the phone, said "I'll see what I can do", and hung up...... I was in shock. I want to RAVE about the valet parking men. They are INCREDIBLE, and individually refunded every single parking vouchers charge to my ladies. They were kind, helpful, and so apologetic, even though it was not their fault and could have been helped by the front desk. They were the ONLY saving graces to this terribly run business, but nobody goes somewhere solely for the valet. We finished, left our event, and had still never met a coordinator, or anything. We went to tell them we were done with the run, and a gentleman says, "okay. I guess I'll just tell them they can clean it then?" THEN, because of course, they did more-- I called to tell Sheena (our coordinator) of our experience since she was getting married the weekend of our event (though, we were told by her that we would meet Vanessa-- her boss. We never did.) and Sheena continually apologized and said she would see what she could do. I had to reach out TWICE, and even then, all she said was that she would waive the parking fees. LOL. The parking fees should have NEVER BEEN CHARGED BECAUSE THE VOUCHERS SHOULD HAVE WORKED. Then I respond and she has yet to respond back to my calls OR my emails. They're now avoiding fixing or doing anything to make our experience better. It was an OUTRAGEOUS amount for no access to pool, no outside food allowed, NOTHING. I promise you, do NOT use them. It was a WASTE. The outside may be stunning, but you can walk by and see it. The inside is not well run, well cared for, and Sheena was absolutely terrible. This is absolutely the WORST experience. If I could rate it 0 stars, I would.

Yelp
stayed here labor day weekend for the first time. My husband and I booked a suite over looking the pool with a balcony. The suite was located in the Discovery Building, second floor, the room was spacious, microwave, mini fridge, shower with tub, couch for two, chair, table for four, the balcony with a table w/ 2 chairs however the balcony was covered with bird droppings ( I know that's nature but gross) Nothing the Resort can do about the birds they have to poo. Pool area- Is small for the size/guests that are at the Resort. The lounge chairs are all pushed together to get as many lounge chairs in the space as possible and Only 3 cabanas nothing special they are located under some trees with limited sun. What we witnessed at the Pool and having a birds eye view from our balcony. Guest will "reserve" multiple lounge chairs by putting towels on them early in the morning and then NOT show up to the pool until hours latter! That is what I call a "Entitled Karen" Its rude and inconsiderate and the real kicker is the Hotel Management allows this!!!! Most Resorts/Cruise Ships will remove the towels immediately or have signage "reserving chairs are not allowed" on each chair. Pool towels we were NOT able to get one until much latter due to none being available this is because guests will take multiple towels out of the pool area to the beach, or who knows where......Why is this allowed.. Again, we have NEVER been to a resort where "pool towels" are a free for all. Its one towel per guest and to be left in the pool area!!! We watched many guests actually run to get a towel(s) when they came available and the employee would literally hand multiple towels to one guests and they would leave the pool area. PLEASE, DO BETTER ZACHARI IN THE POOL AREA We did notice ALL the employees always greeted us with a smile when passing, the Resort itself looks big on the aerial map but when we did a morning walk of the premises it only took about 15 minutes, all the buildings, restaurants, pool are all within walking distance, the grounds are kept well, clean and seating area next to the pool We ordered dinner room service from OX. The hamburger, crab cake, fries were the BEST!! The location is the BEST literally on the beach :), close to a "shopping" plaza with Ralphs, CVS and fast food. Would we come again? most definitely despite the pool issues we have. I hope management does take in consideration my feedback and control the "entitled Karen's" "reserving" lounge chairs and there's ALOT OF KAREN'S AT THIS RESORT I KNOCKED OFF ONE STAR DUE TO THE POOL AREA LACK OF SUPERVISON AND CONTROL.

Yelp
I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times and I have always had a relaxing time. Its proximity to the beach is amazing. The rooms we've stayed in have always been well maintained. The room space is adequate. The hotel staff were professional and helpful. Check-in was always quick. Parking was never a problem as there's always a spot available. It's a few minutes' walk to the nearby grocery. I would definitely recommend this place to people who'd prefer a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Yelp
John is the best worker I have met. He takes care of the customers and is always professional and he is the best part of the night! We appreciate him and his unique way

Yelp
decided to stay here for a peaceful birthday weekend. I will say it's an absolutely beautiful hotel. its on the ocean, the rooms are beautiful and spacious. I had a pretty big issue and ended up leaving early. I overall didn't love how I was handled but I want to be clear there are some truly remarkable people who work there. the front desk manager Armando is amazing and the general manager Glenda is a phenomenal person. once we talked and she corrected what she could I felt so much better. I felt heard and seen and that is super important. my birthday didnt turn out like I wanted but I'm grateful for her care and kindness.

Yelp
This place is great. The location is amazing. You have your own beach due to its seclusion from the rest of the area. The rooms are great. The bed was comfortable and suites gave two restrooms and a mini bar with a microwave and refrigerator. The pool and grounds were great. I recommend bringing your own pool/beach towels. We also enjoyed the fire pits and areas including the gym.

Yelp
Highly recommend coming here whether for a quick vacation getaway or a long one? Or just a visit to the property which opens right up on the beach, with Ox and Ocean restaurant & bar that has a beautiful patio with fire pits and seating area to enjoy drinks and appetizers! Watch the sunset, bring your dog, or just enjoy a date Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Definitely a pretty place and seaside escape resort style! Plenty of chairs and towels with and without umbrellas. It's still summer so lots of families and kids and lots of splashing and noise. Nothing some noise cancelling earphones can't handle!! Definitely a lovely property and right on the beach so terrific and views!

Yelp
My wife and I throughly loved this resort! We used the secure underground self parking and left our car there for three relaxing nights. The resort offers so much we didn't even need to leave the property! The Sugar Beats trailer in the courtyard was a clever idea, offering food truck style choices. For upscale dining the Ox & Ocean is next to the pool and open for delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The hotel is beautifully designed and the rooms and grounds reflect the mission style influence. The beach is easily accessible offering walking and biking routes along the shore. The staff were friendly and helpful, even the painters working outside our room. All this contributed to a truly relaxing getaway for us.

Yelp
Stayed here for our wedding and it was beyond amazing! The staff treated us so well and the small touches went a long way. They offered a bottle of champagne and allowed some family we never get to see go come in for a little bit. I'm so glad we stayed there and got to experience ocean front paradise in Oxnard. It's also very clean and reasonable priced. The pool is big and very nice to go relax during the day. Love this hotel and can't wait for another staycation

Yelp
Some of the items that need attention: - why is the soap & lotion dispenser in bathroom glued to middle/ center of vanity? Leaves no room for toiletries on counter. - "Dive" game room has broken & missing board game pieces. - "Dive" game room has broken slide game table. - should have two pools for amount of guess because pool was very crowded and ran out of towels around pool. - not enough umbrellas around pool area. - Broken pool umbrella bases. - hand railing at all stairs are rusted and dangerous. - while having brunch on first day, it took very long for our order, also after brunch we waited long time for bill and finally had to go to front desk to pay brunch bill. - notified Henry of your text service that first night was terrible with squeaking noise from bed above our room. Heard guess turn over in bed each time as if he was in our room. - Handles in Bathroom are squeaky and not shut off properly. Price too high for these kind of issues are what I thought would be a higher end hotel. Not sure of returning with these issues.

Yelp
I stayed here in Dec 2022. I stayed here with a quote of $199 a night. Next day I got my receipt: Self parking, resort fee, TWICE charge of suite tax, TWICE CA tourism tax, TWICE VTA county tourism assessment, TWICE OTMD Assessment = totaling little over $296. Thanks for the transparency but are you kidding me?? wtf is OTMD? VTA? or any of these. i don't know if any of these things have changed but this sh!t pissed me off. never again

Yelp
I'm a local and I love Zachari Dunes and Ox and Ocean. My husband and I decided to walk over and have lunch at the cute little airstream Sugarbeets. I don't mind paying a little more, I get it, we are at a resort. 2 LA street dogs, bacon wrapped with peppers, onion etc and one bottle of water $41 before the tip. The hot dogs weren't bacon wrapped and there weren't any peppers or onions. They were basically a hot dog with relish and don't let me forget the EIGHT DOLLAR BOTTLE OF WATER. Come on guys. A 16 ounce bottle of water for eight bucks. I really wanted to like it but no thanks.

Yelp
My family and I had the most amazing experience at this establishment! From the cleanliness, to the ambiance, and hospitality, we truly felt welcomed and relaxed! We definitely will be back for future short vacations !

Yelp
I feel like all of their efforts went into the lobby and the restaurant. After that, it's a series of broken light fixtures, burned out bulbs, random congregation of flies, and just an unkempt property. We changed rooms because our "beach view" room was pretty pathetic. In both rooms, every single piece of furniture is scuffed, scratched, stained, or dirty. I had to cover the sofa bed before our kids could sleep on it because it's easier than trying to explain to them that itt looks dirty and they should burn it. Oh yeah, some doors don't even close properly, almost comical. Every single hallway is dirty. There is random crap all over.....box of empty beers, stray crocs, box of water wafers (pinky up). Whoever runs housekeeping needs to be replaced or retrained. It appears they rely on the seagulls to pick up what's left of people's scraps. I think it's a case of too big and not enough staff. The only reason I can give it a star is because all of the staff was friendly and seemed like they were trying their best, but I feel like they are set up to fail. Management needs a full walk through of every room, hallway, and public space. We had fun as a family, and the location is good, but unless major changes are made, it's not worth visiting given the prices they charge.

Yelp
One of the best hotels i have ever seen and been to.I would definitely go back again, again, and again lol. We went last year, !July for the Xgames We had a lot of fun on the property. There's a kids game room daily until 5pm After 5, it's adults only. All the staff at Zachari Dunes was amazing. They went above and beyond! I had to leave my mom at the hotel while I took my son to the axgames. They texted me through out our stay to make sure everything was good. I asked the security personal to check on my elderly mom through out the day while I wasn't there. They truly were amazing!!!! You can also rent bikes too. Right on the beach! Price isn't bad for the location. We're excited to go back again this year!!!!
