I have to start with the great atmosphere! When you walk in, the wood and steel build is rustic and welcoming and the staff, welcome you with a smile. Lights! Lots of lights, warm hanging lights, neon bar lights. Beautiful art. Second. Had to use the men’s room. Great clean bathrooms! Third. The drinks were very good. Again, I don’t like my drinks sweet. I had a Mezcalita, (smoky tequila drink) not too sweet and they made it right on. Forth. They are very clean when it comes to cleaning the tables. Got a super clean table, watched them clean it and they were very thorough. Waiters were very attentive. More than one asked if we were good. Food…for a taco place in PR…this is about as close as you’re going to get to Tacos. 99.9%. These tacos, were GOOD. Like better than most “Mexican” places back home. Unless you’re eating home made Mexican tacos or street tacos in MX, this place is better than most if not all places back in MN. This is the spot to go to if you’re looking for a dinner place in Culebra. It is on the slightly pricier side. Dinner for 5 was 262$ we all had tacos and then 8 drinks between all of us. But…best place that we have eaten dinner on our trip to PR. Worth it!

This place was great in every aspect. I went a Saturday’s night, and it had live music from 5-9 pm. The musician was from Ciales, PR, and it was really good, he really made the restaurant’s atmosphere festive. They food was good, really good portions, they also have a variety of Margaritas to taste. The best was the “Tres Leches”, it was home- made. The service 10/10.

Very decorated and modern feel. The seating area is in the back yard with cute lanterns. They even kept the big tree in the center and built around it!! It was the only place that was open on a Monday at 8:30. Food was good and tasty but definitely overpriced. It feels like your typical Americanized tacos. We got the pork belly burrito and mahi mahi tacos, with the extra spicy salsa. That salsa was very spicy with a slow burn. Fresh coconut for $15 was definitely overpriced bc I had to try it. Eh I've had better for cheaper, but I was there so I accepted the cost. The passion fruit margarita?! That was the best actually. Light smoky taste to the margarita and so delicious.

Some people just know how to run a restaurant. Well prepared food, friendly attentive staff, cool vibe. A great spot for a bite. One draw back, not good options for health concerns. The only fish option was battered fried.

Google
Tasty food, great vibe, quick service. Raquel was our server and she understood our requirement perfectly. There was no wait time on a Monday evening but the restaurant was busy. They have veg options too. I strongly recommend this place. Salsa was super tasty. Spicy. We loved it. Trestle he’s cake was good too.

Google
The carne asada fries were good, my carnitas burrito was bomb! And the 2nd half was even better the next day! The chips, salsa and guacamole were also a perfect start! Highly recommend!

Google
very cute themed place! We came to celebrate my sisters birthday! The line was out the door, but we were seated right away because we only had 2 in our group. We were sat at the bar! We ordered chips and salsa, the salsa was spicy and delicious! Just ALOT of chips for 2 ppl. I got a virgin pina colada and the mahi mahi tacos. Personally the fish was lacking in flavor, but the crust was really good. There was a little too much topping for my liking, lots of cabbage and crème, and guacamole. I just feel like mahi mahi can be really good keeping it simple. My sister ordered the carne tacos plain and said they were really delicious. I wanted to surprise her with a dessert and it was tres leches which was not good in my opinion but my sister liked it. It was charged $10 for the birthday dessert.

Yelp
Excellent service! Staff was warm, happy and welcoming! Would return for sure! The ambiance and decor was nice.

Yelp
Great vibe! But I'd say it's the most non-elevated taco experience I had in my life. I totally understand that it's in a small island so we are price takers. But I'd expect something more. We had fajitas, buritos, salsa and chips, old fashioned, margarita, and tres leches all come to over $100. Again, food is decent but nothing special or unique. I've had better Mexican foods even from fast-casual chains. For the price, I feel like I'm eating tacos from a restaurant in NYC! Service was fast and waiter was attentive.

Yelp
We went here several times during our stay in Culebra and we really enjoyed this place! It was honestly our favorite restaurant on the island. The service was great! No matter what server we had the service was excellent! The food was very good! Out of all the restaurants that we went to in Culebra, this one has the best food! The atmosphere was authentic and warm! We had the bean bowl, asada bowl, bean burrito, tres leches, and other things, all of which were great! Our servers Raquel and Andres were amazing! If you visit the island of Culebra, this restaurant is a must visit!

Yelp
Don't be like me and be fooled by the outside looks. Zaco's Tacos must be one of the best options in Culebra. I'm glad I walked in after so many years just walking by. Beautiful seating area, great food and ambiance. Thanks to Andres for being such a great host.

Yelp
Eat here!! Tacos in Puerto Rico are so hard to find so my boyfriend and I were ready for some good Mexican food when we found Zacos! We get amazing tacos in San Diego, and Zacos is right at that level! Every time we come to Culebra we eat here almost every day at some point. If you don't know what to eat and you're in Culebra, eat here for sure. It does get busy so the earlier you can get there the better to snag a table. They do not take reservations as far as I'm aware so first come first serve. Don't expect the world's fastest service but just get a margarita to sip on and you'll forget all about the wait. I love a spicy margarita but they don't play around with their spice so be careful of that. Always a vibe in there too. Neon signs, wood paneling, lots of kitschy decor, a ton to look at!
google avatar

Lolita K.

Yelp
It's not tasty, and overpriced. Almost all is spicy. It's too noisy. I don't understand why there is such a long line at the restaurant. It's not worth your time or your money.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Zacos Tacos. The ambiance was fantastic, complemented by great live music. The interior and decor were beautiful and well-designed. As for the food, it was quite delicious. The chicken tacos were absolutely amazing, while the fish tacos were decent but not exceptional. The nachos were enjoyable as well, although they were a bit heavy on the cheese. The quesadillas were also quite tasty. Additionally, they had a wonderful selection of cocktails, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Yelp
Came for the margaritas and left happy. They have a pretty lengthy menu and the atmosphere is really really cute. Signage is a little hard to see but the opening is through a door on the Main Street.
google avatar

Yelp
We came to this taco place randomly but the food here actually exceeded our expectations. We ordered chicken burrito which was full of flavor and the chicken was very tender. Also tried their tamarind margarita which was refreshing and sour(in a good way). Music was dancy. Only downside was the price was a little steep.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Crazy expensive and the food was sub par. We got takeout since we had a large group and everyone had similar comments about the food. It was very disappointing. We had to return multiple times to pick up the order since they were slow getting it out. The interior was nice looking. If you are looking for a main land bar, have money to blow, and just want to have a few drinks, sitting down looked nice. If you just want to eat, look elsewhere.

Yelp
Wow, to say this place was crap service would be a huge understatement. The staff was completely disengaged and our order came out in one dish at a time and some dishes never came out. After two hours, I asked for the check and they were shocked that the order was still incomplete. The hostess was rude and the fact that there was a wait for at least 30-60 minutes with open tables was a joke. I felt bad for the people who stood in line and were never sat. They were basically told, "if you haven't order by now, you are screwed." Avoid this place after 630 pm because it is a shi* show and the staff is bad at managing the situation.

Yelp
The ambiance was on point and so was the service. Very friendly staff and very hard workers. The food was very well presented and came out pretty quick. The only reason why this spot is not a 5 star is due to their Old Fashioned and my Fish Tacos being over cooked. My husband and I consider ourselves avid, experienced Old Fashioned drinkers. The Old Fashioned here was lacking something.... We asked the bartender and she mentioned all the right ingredients, however, we didn't taste the Angostura Bitters. Almost as if they had mixed up Angostura Bitters with Orange bitters. For the price ($18) we expected something better. My suggestion is to stick to Mexican drinks. The Mezcalita was AMAZING!!! Will definitely come back and hope to see the New Administration (6 months under new Admin) thriving. Best Wishes!!!

Tracee H.

Yelp
We had nachos, tacos, burrito and tres leches. Yummyyyyy!! Raquel or server was amazing, a definite bonus to a delicious meal! Ambiance was perfect, very comfortable, festive and laid back. Hope to be back soon!

Grace B.

Yelp
We had a great time! We were looking for a quick bite, not much was open as it was a holiday. However, this place did not disappoint! The food was great (and so were the drinks), and the service was even better! 4 people ordered special drinks and they arrived within like 3 minutes! And this was on Easter! The ambiance was great as well, but you will most definitely see chickens so be prepared for that! The only, and I really think only drawback, was the price. It was quite expensive, but we really did have a great time. Thank you to Zaco's Tacos!!

Yelp
Best service and ambiance on the island and the food was made with love. Sick swag too

Lisa H.

Yelp
On our first night in Culebra, we went to a place that starts with a "D" and the second word starts with a "D". Terrible service at the bar, food was 'meh'. Next night we walk into Zaco's. Immediately the ambiance it 1000 times better and the bartender is AWESOME. So fun, made us special drinks, happy and friendly!! Pork belly tacos are amazing!!!! We will come here every day until we leave.

Yelp
My recent visit to Zacos Tacos was unfortunately tarnished by an encounter with an employee named Chris, leaving me compelled to share my disappointing experience. Upon arrival, there was a lack of a host or clear seating arrangement, so we followed the party ahead of us, hoping to find a suitable spot. To our dismay, Chris abruptly approached us, welcomed the other group, and rudely instructed us to leave without any explanation or attempt to assist. Having chosen Zacos Tacos based on positive Yelp reviews, our expectations were high. However, our experience was abruptly cut short by Chris's discourteous behavior. This incident greatly impacted our perception of the restaurant and left us questioning the validity of the positive reviews we had read. Customer service is a crucial aspect of any dining experience, and unfortunately, Zacos Tacos fell short on this occasion. I hope the management addresses such incidents to ensure a more welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons in the future.

Yelp
Nice ambience, good music. The food was good. Note the price tends to be higher considered to mainland US (which is to be expected).
google avatar

Yelp
great service and atmosphere, and the food was great, the best tacos I ever had, and I have never imagined that I will taste something like this in this island

Yelp
The fish tacos were delicious and they were awesome for my kid with a peanut allergy. The passion fruit coconut lemonade was so delicious and the pina colada (both virgin and not) was delicious too.

Yelp
The service here is horrible. We got seated and the waiter didn't even give us the menu or ask what we would like to drink.... 15 min goes by and the waiter comes " what are you ordering " ... we all looked confused because no one gave us a menu to begin with!! After telling her we don't have the menu she got annoyed n pointed to the screen over at the bar " it's over there!" ... of course I have to get up walked over up the stairs and take a picture of the menu n send it to my party of 8.... Like what kind of business is this.... If the menu is by the bar , it'll be nice to let us know instead of seating us n wasted over 15 min. I wouldn't recommend this place.... Culebra is such a small island and there's only so many places that is open to eat at night... this is one them but good luck getting miss treated. I say u get better food and services at Dinghy Dock restaurant!!!!!!

Yelp

Josef B.

Yelp
Dam good .. you should be proud of the food and service.. really good drinks..thank you .. pork belly tacos.. soooooooo good

Piper K.

Yelp
The food was very yummy and the overall ambiance of the restaurant was a beachy Mexican paradise. The only complaint is that the food is too good and I am now addicted.

Edwin C.

Yelp
My experience at this restaurant was tainted by the rude behavior of the server, Chris. Upon entering with another party, we were abruptly instructed to return to the front, while the other group was allowed to proceed without similar instructions. This inconsistency in treatment, seemingly based on race, was deeply disappointing. Despite the apparent friendliness of the cook, Chris's behavior led me to decide against dining here. It's disheartening when such incidents overshadow the positive aspects of a place.

Trevor L.

Yelp
High prices, but to be expected. Great vibe tho and the food was good as well! Definitely best on Culebra!
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
Very tasty tacos, cold beer, and nice service. Slightly hidden away off the main road and not much of a view compared to other places nearby. But food prices are reasonable and they are open during lunch hours. Not all restaurants are open these days.

Yelp
For our last meal on Culebra, we chose Zaco's Tacos. From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall but it actually has a beautiful multi-level back patio that makes for a great place to hang out. Despite the name, I actually ended up choosing a chicken quesadilla for my dinner and I was very impressed. I'd even go so far as to say that it was one of my favorite quesadilllas ever. Some end up too greasy or cheesy but this one had the perfect amount of cheese and a minimal amount of grease. I really wasn't hungry enough to eat an entire quesadilla but I tried my best as I couldn't bring the leftovers back to the mainland with me. I also ordered a fruity margarita (I can't remember what kind as they were out of the first one I ordered and substituted it but it was possibly passion fruit or guava) and it was amazing! Unfortunately, my boyfriend was less impressed with his meal. He ordered a vegetarian burrito and didn't find it to be anything special.
google avatar

Heidi F.

Yelp
Delicious food, tasty drinks, and great service! The tacos are some of the best! The guava margarita is a must!
google avatar

Kara H.

Yelp
Such a good atmosphere! Enjoyed the fresh margaritas. We had like, watermelon, and parcha. We got our food quickly and everything was correct! Definitely will be back next time we visit the island!

Natasha G.

Yelp
Great Place, especially when you want a gluten-free AND vegan/vegetarian option for a change. Fun & relaxing vibe. Awesome service. I had a delicious watermelon lemonade that the bartender made this morning. Loved the place. And don't get confused by the "For Sale " sign outside. They're open.
google avatar

Tracy B.

Yelp
Since the change of ownership there are a few changes. The ambiance is still great. They no longer offer a la carte tacos. You must get 3 of one kind, which does not allow you to try the variety. The tacos, mojitos and margaritas were very good. The service was good, we got the hot sauces delivered to the table, which was nice of the waitress to accommodate.

Emily V.

Yelp
Love this place!' Pork belly and fish tacos!! Great place to wait for the ferry out of paradise! Don't cry... hopefully you come back soon!

Vicente E.

Yelp
Best carnita tacos !! Super cool vibe. They even sell zaco taco shirts. Definitely worth your time going if you are in the area.

Alexsandra N.

Yelp
Came recommended by our shuttle driver. Cutest spot, walkable from the ferry. Definitely very modern. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and my boyfriend ordered a chicken burrito before we headed for the ride home. Wish we could have stayed and had some margaritas because the bar was so cute, well decorated, and the incense they were burning smelled amazing. Shaded patio too. Our waitress was so cute and service was fast. The bathrooms were also spotless. Don't miss!

Yelp
So bummed to have been treated so poorly because I really hate being the guy to write a negative review. We eat here when we sail to Culebra and usually get great service and food. Today, Karen (not sure if she gave us the correct name) was so incredibly rude we just had to leave. I'm bummed because it could be a great place and I'm not a hard a hard guy to please...try Heather's Pizza.

Bird B.

Yelp
Ambiance was great pretty good. It's a cool spot and has more of a bar than restaurant vibe. We only came here (after trying to sit at 2 other restaurants) because nothing else was open if you arrive on the later ferry. If you're visiting with a larger party, we had 6 adults and 2 children, they might not be able to accommodate easily. Service was not great at all! You will wait at the entrance, which is corded off, for a while before anyone will notice you, then tell you if they will be able to seat you and when. There was 1 food runner who was obviously very busy with every table. There was 1 bartender that was doing his best and also running his drinks to the tables. Our server took our order after waiting for about 10 minutes, forgot to enter our order of nachos, but the rest of our order came out correct. However, the server just left at some point and we never saw him again. A different worker, (out of a few others that seemed to just be hanging around the register) that just happened to see us looking for our server came to finally give us our bill and acknowledged that yes, the server had just left and he did not know why or even if the server would be coming back. As a Mexican person familiar with authentic Mexican food, the carne asada was flavorful, but the tortillas and/or asada were a bit greasy, leaving a not so great aftertaste. It's not possible to order a side of avocado so I can only assume the guacamole is premade, not fresh. You have to request salsa. I asked for the hottest salsa, they served a green salsa which was actually spicy and flavorful. However, $20 is a bit steep for 3 tacos de asada. Again, nothing else was open. On the plus side, the guava margarita was great. Overall, if you're Mexican familiar with authentic Mexican food, you'll want to pass this place up, unless you just want a good cocktail. After all you are in Puerto Rico and Mexican food isn't probably the number 1 choice here as a visitor of color. You will be better off getting some Puerto Rican food at a different establishment on the island.

Danielle S.

Yelp
Fish tacos, fresh margaritas and the service, were all wonderful!! I felt this restaurant was underrated for how charming it is. You definitely feel like you're on vacation here!

Janette B.

Yelp
Restaurant was very busy and there was only one server, one bartender, and two guys who appeared to be front of house and back of house managers. The teamwork was clearly visible here and I commend those working for doing such a great job of it. The food was very very good, came out quickly, exactly as described, and not outrageously priced like most destination islands. Try the fresh margs. Honestly, I was apprehensive to visit bc of poor reviews I'd seen previously. SO GLAD I didn't listen to those! The ambiance was phenomenal as well. It was like sitting on the back porch you always dreamed of!
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
Fun place to go to on Culebra. Had the quesadilla and it was very tasty. The salsa had a good taste to it too. Had the house margarita also and they were not stingy with the alcohol. The waiters were fun and personable too. Very good!!!
google avatar

LaMisha T.

Yelp
They will accommodate for vegans here. I ordered the burrito with no cheese, and no sour cream. The burritos are very filling here. They are by no means small. The burrito comes with chips and salsa. The drink that I went crazy over was the spicy ginger lemonade. It's honestly so good that I couldn't stop ordering it. If you are vegan stop by!

Maria G.

Yelp
These are the best tacos I've had! It's a shame we couldn't be seated inside due to the water situation but the drinks and food were excellent.
google avatar

Paul F.

Yelp
From all the good reviews, I expected something much better. The seating is ample. The atmosphere is beach-bar style. Our server and the employees were friendly but kind of distant. We ordered some beer on tap but mine was flat. Chips and salsa are not complimentary but we ordered some to try anyway. The chips were fine but the salsa was boring with too strong of a tomato flavor. For food we wanted to try their "amazing" tacos, as some reviewers claim, so we ordered the Carne Asada, Beer Battered Fish, and Pork Belly tacos. They all looked amazing but after tasting them, we were disappointed. Nothing terrible. But the flavors were just bland. The meat for the Carne Asada was cut into tiny cubes so was a bit dry. The beer battered fish could have been a frozen fish-stick and I wouldn't have known the difference. The guacamole was bland. The pico de gallo, like the salsa, had too strong of a tomato flavor. These tacos were not amazing at all. At $4-$6 a taco it seems a little over priced for how small they are. Take into account the lack-luster flavors and this place should be a hard pass. I do not recommend. It's a bit disappointing because a friend who was with us really enjoyed this place some years back. Unfortunately, it seems to have lost what it once had because we were not impressed. Perhaps they can make some improvements and get it back. But until then, I do not recommend this place unless you're desperate for tacos.

Alana T.

Yelp
After a day scuba diving, this restaurant was the perfect place for a "snack" mid-afternoon. The tacos were incredible, the lightness of the breading of the fish taco was a delight. The hot sauces are fun and clearly homemade. The hibiscus mojito was incredibly refreshing after a day on the water. The environment was fun too - a covered back porch with multiple levels and a friendly rooster wandering about.

Linda P.

Yelp
Delicious food but pricier than it was in the past. Lots of hype about the cocktails.

Patrick A.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the front but the patio out back is great. One wall is the bar and has a wall of tequila. We had the carnitas tacos, elote, cucumber jalapeño margarita and mojito. CUCUMBER JALAPEÑO MARG is the best drink. The nachos and elote were great too. Definitely come here
google avatar

Azile Y.

Yelp
We loved it all- the carnitas burrito, fried fish taco and pork belly taco. The burritos are a better deal, as they are quite filling. The turtle pie for dessert was exceptional! LOVED the classic rock music!!
google avatar

Naiyun W.

Yelp
Where is the must to go place in the island? ZACO'S TACOS!! Everything was soo yummy! We came here for dinner. The atmosphere is super relaxing and the food is amazing. Food price is quite reasonable for the portion. Drinks are OK but not good enough for the price. Zaco's Tacos is my favorite place to eat on Culebra. If you haven't been Zaco's Tacos, then you haven't been Culebra. Come check it out!
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
This is simply Taco Heaven! From all the choices they have it's hard to tell which one is the best. I fell in love with the chicken tacos but the rest of my party enjoyed the pork belly tacos very much. The waiter is a very sweet young woman who provides a really good service! I will be back!

Yelp
This place is not what it's cracked up to be. Our server was a surfer-guy type and seemed uninterested in his job. The food and drinks were overpriced, but the Pina Colada was good and strong. The atmosphere is cool but it's definitely catered to the middle-America people who are on cruises, instead of being billed as authentic Mexican food. The fish taco I had was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it but then it was gone. The carne asada taco on the other hand was not. It came in a bland flour tortilla (?) and had a tiny hunk of lime to attempt to brighten up the flavor. For the 4.5 star rating this place has, it doesn't make sense to my wife or me. The food was aggressively mediocre and overpriced, and we'd rather stay in and cook ourselves at our AirBnB than spend $35 on mediocre food and service. This is not a must go. If you don't know Mexican cuisine and don't mind shelling out for it, I guess. But if you've EVER had authentic Mexican food, this is a hard pass.
