Zacosta Villa Hotel, Old Town, Rhodes, Greece - Explore & Book

"If you like to feel special, sleep in style and get under the skin of a place, book into Zacosta, a diminutive hotel-villa-hybrid run by the ever solicitous Greek bachelor-boy John Pelidis. Named after the 15th-century Grand Master Piero Raimondo Zacosta, this six-room B&B is set near the UNESCO-classed medieval ramparts, amongst narrow, cobbled alleys in Rhodes' Old Town. Enter into a spacious Moorish-style interior courtyard with sunloungers, cushioned benches and a large table where you can enjoy alfresco breakfasts, or one of John's barbecues in summer. A vine-shaded entrance opposite opens onto the cosy bar-cum-breakfast area, and the small but comfort-packed Giardino room is just across the hallway. Climb a narrow flight of stairs to the first floor and you’ll find the bijou Raimondo room, with its view over the courtyard below. Cross the landing and you’ll enter the more grandiose Gran Maestro suite - boasting a kingsize canopy bed, spacious salon area and candlelit Jacuzzi bath. Here, you can really spread out and settle in - though be warned, you might never want to leave. We didn't. Highs Lingering over scrumptious buffet breakfasts in the tranquil courtyardJohn's flexible hospitality and helpful tips; he achieves that delicate balance of tending to your every need without ever being in the wayScrummy treats in the rooms, including Rhodian loukoumi (Turkish delight), beautifully boxed sponges and soaps, and lashings of Korres smelliesLapping up the superb location - you're an atmospheric stroll away from the Old Town’s restaurant district and nightlife along the harbour Tuning into obscure frequencies on the retro Tivoli Model One radios in your room Lows Lack of space in the Raimondo roomNo twin roomsNo service at night, but guests can help themselves to coffee and videos, and the bar has an honesty tick sheetDifficult to park nearby - call John in advance and he'll come with Zacosta's electric golf cart to assist with luggage and directions" - Heidi Fuller-Love

Rhodes Old Town is very interesting and walkable. Lots of really Old History, friendly Restraunts and so much to see. All you need is a perfect location within the city walls as your base and that is Zacosta Villa Hotel. Quiet, very clean, meticulously managed and set in a lovely courtyard. Our room was 1st floor (2nd US) with a comfortable bed and private shower room. This is a small boutique hotel in a sympathetically restored old building. It's comfortable and welcoming. We loved it all. The staff are lovely, George literally cannot do too much for you... honest advice about what to visit and where to eat. He is charming and really wants you to have the best experience. He's happy to offer advice before you book and as mentioned before will meet your taxi in his golf cart and take you and your cases to the Zacosta. You will be getting 5 star service from George all the time like a personal travel advisor. We would not hesitate to stay here again. The courtyard is available to guests at anytime and they also have a supply of drinks available. It's simple if you are going to Rhodes Old Town and want a really good hotel experience book the Zacosta.

We stayed for a week at this absolutely superb small hotel within the medieval town. Easy walking to all the restaurants, bars, new town and harbor but tucked away down a side street away from the noise at night.| |The room was immaculately cleaned each morning and breakfast set out in the small enclosed courtyard. All the staff were very efficient and friendly , especially George who we can't thank enough for making our stay so relaxed and special. From arranging taxis and boat trips, recommending places and restaurants to visit, trying to tackle our troublesome airport transfer for us, to answering so many questions from my wife each morning that he claimed to be staying up at night to study for them! An amazing asset for a hotel to have.||I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Super stay at Zacosta Villa. Wonderful boutique hotel in Old Town. John and George are faultless hosts who go to enormous lengths to ensure your stay is as pleasurable as possible. Stayed in Aragon Suite. Lovely spacious and spotless room with little patio area. Good breakfast and lots and lots of hints about restaurants and what to see. Highly recommend.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay here. From the booking they were very helpful, arranging a taxi for us, picking us up in the golf cart (as the streets are too narrow for cars). Everything was done over whatsapp, which was great. They even dropped us off at a bus stop for a tour we booked for free.||The room was lovely. Very authentic. Water daily and we were given a fruit platter on two evenings which was welcomed. Bed was comfortable and large room. Modern bathroom with robes and slippers. Shampoo and shower gel as well as a hairdryer. There is also a fridge in the room and coffee maker. There are only 6 rooms so very small and intimate.||Breakfast in the morning is continental/Mediterranean. Olives, fruit, salad, meats, yogurts, eggs, cereal, pastries and breads. Freshly squeezed orange juice and coffees. Youu will enjoy this in the courtyard or inside if its bad weather. || The location is great, inside the city walls. Quiet at night but not too far to walk to the bars and restaurants. Maybe 5 mins.|There are plenty of shops and things to see. The beach is around 15 - 20 minute walk north but pleasant. Sunbeds range from €5 - €10 per person (north/west or north beach). You will be 10 min walk to the palace and it's pretty easy to get around the city (we did most of it in 1 day). The acropolis and stadium are around 20 mins walk away.||The only complaint I have with our room was the noisy guests upstairs. We heard the steps and talking of those above us as there is no insulation between. So if you can, get a top floor room, or bring earplugs.||Overall we are missing it already and we have only just landed home. It's a very enchanting city and a lovely place to stay. I am so glad we didn't choose a large hotel.||Big shout out to George for making our stay amazing!

Excellent family holiday at Zacosta. Super boutique villa in the Old Town of Rhodes, quiet location but within a couple of minutes you can be in the hustle and bustle of the town. Beautiful clean rooms. John and his team are the perfect hosts with nothing being too much trouble to make your stay pleasurable and memorable, John even retried an ear ring that my Wife dropped in the bathroom sink! Highly recommended.

Spent 2 nights here before heading South. Amazing hotel with plenty of character. We had a family room with 2 double beds, plenty of space and really comfortable. Hospitality is fantastic, John met the taxi from the airport to collect the luggage and Nico took us to the port at the end of our stay. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely fresh breakfast in the courtyard. I’m not sure we would stay in the Old Town again, we weren't keen on some of the practices being adopted by some of the restaurants and bars, but if we did it would 100% be here - can’t praise Zacosta highly enough.

Wonderful stay, truly felt like guests in their home and we felt like nothing was too big an ask. John and Nikko could give a masterclass in customer service, they really were amazing. |Breakfast in the courtyard in the morning was lovely, really good location a short walk from everything in the old town. |John gave us lots of restaurant recommendations, we went to most of them and they were excellent - they are very knowledgeable on the area and gave really good advice of how to avoid tourist traps which was very appreciated. |Room was conveniently cleaned while we had our breakfast each morning too, just all round such a lovely stay and I can't thank the team at Zacosta enough

Well what can I say! What a fantastic boutique hotel in a quiet part of the old town. It may be small but the rooms are big, very well cleaned (daily) with all the amenities you need. The aircon is a godsend given the heat whilst we stayed. Mr John and Nikos went out of their way to help with some lovely personal touches like collecting us from the town gates in a golf cart! The breakfast was lovely with plenty of coffee and it's taken in the courtyard. Overall one of the very best hotels I've stayed at, 10/10 I heartily recommend staying.
