This is the first stop of the Mongolian tour, we went in November. It boasts an amazing view of the Ulaanbaatar cityscape. There is a compulsory climb of long stairs to the top and it can get very chilly very quickly. However, the short hike was worth it for the breathtaking 360 degree lookout into the city and countryside.

Bundle up! You need to be able to climb 5 flights of stairs to get there. It is a free memorial. Bundle up as it’s very windy on the summit. Go potty in the nearby restaurant, as there are none at the memorial. The UB city views are magnificent all around. It’s gorgeous up there. Parking is limited, the walk from the public transport is good 25-30 min to memorial. I am glad we visited this place.

Nice lookout on a small hill on the edge of the city Ulaanbaator. It is accessed on one side via a large mall just beside and below the stairs that leads to the monument itself. Free of charge and well worth the walk.

It's worth climbing to the monument for a beautiful panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. Unfortunately, the monument itself is a tribute to Soviet activity in Mongolia. It's very windy at the top, and the monument can be accessed by elevator and a bridge from the shopping center.

Incredible! Highly recommend coming to see Zaisan Monument. There’s also great food in the shopping center at the bottom of the stairs. Do be aware, the flight of stairs is 612 steps with 300 metres elevation. There’s a small parking lot at the base of the stairs. The views of the city are gorgeous too!

You can drove all the way to the foot of the monument and climb about 250 steps to the top. The entire Ulaanbaatar city will come into view. The monument itself s also very nicely constructed and colourful. Highly recommended!

Zaisan Monument is one of the must see attractions in Ulaanbaatar, especially if you like anything soviet and/or mosaics!! This one in particular shows the defeat of the Nazis and Imperial Japan!! Oh yeah and don't miss the tank in the begininning, I almost did!! Definitely a highlight of my trip to Mongolia 🇲🇳!! 😃
