Unfortunately, this place is far from the kind of hostel where you feel welcome. The staff seemed stressed and annoyed, and questions were answered reluctantly – if at all. Often, you’re just sent to the tourist information center, even for things like showers, which cost 300 yen for 3 minutes of cold water. At check-in, I was told to leave my bag outside in the rain, even though there was clearly enough space inside. Rooms are cleaned immediately after someone checks out – sometimes as early as 8 AM – with loud noise and no regard for guests who are still sleeping. Showers and toilets are cleaned right before check-out time, making it difficult to freshen up in the morning. After 10 AM, you’re no longer allowed to stay in the hostel. You may remain in the front area, but only if there are no restaurant guests. Your luggage has to be put outside again, even if your ferry doesn’t leave until the afternoon. The common area doubles as a restaurant and can only be used when there are no paying guests. Otherwise, you’re asked to leave. Most disappointing of all is that the place makes no effort to accommodate ferry schedules. For travelers needing a place to rest or wait before or after check-in, this hostel is completely unsuitable. There are definitely better options nearby.

Fantastic hostel, we loved it here and stayed for 5 nights! The air conditioned room was great and you can see that real love and care has gone into this hostel - the paintings on the walls, even in the bathroom are beautiful! Great location for Ama and Furuzamami beaches, and day trips to Tokashiki and Aka too! Great area for drying towels and chilling in the evening, plus great burgers and pizza! Paul and the girls were super lovely, and had great tunes playing too!

Stayed in dorm room 2 nights with my son (18). Great setup, clean hot showers, top burgers, cold beer on tap, excellent staff with valued local tips. Overall a well run place and an easy hassle free experience... Thanks

Was ok. Cannot open the window in the dorm so it was not good air but still ok. There was shampoo, conditioner and soap in the shower :) Could rent a bike even though the seat wasnt adjustable. And there are quite some mountains so might be better to rent a Electronic bike ot sth similar. The other Beds in my room were changed around 9.40 - the time when I woke up and wanted to change clothes and pack my stuff so would have been nice to have time at least till checkout time 10 ^^ But in general nice atmosphere :)

The air conditioned rooms feel so nice on the hot humid island! The staff was great with recommendations, they have the best deals on rental gear and we met so many cool people there! That’s what the guest houses are supposed to be about in my opinion the negative reviews want luxury hotels. Can’t wait to come back and try the pizza and burgers!

It's a good budget stay. Improvements can include Aircon (it's warm at bunk room) and mattress (found it thin and so I can feel the hardness of the bed, had to use my comforter as it's warm anyway). The food served at it's restaurant is sooo good! We had the Zamami burger and Okinawan pizza - both are to die for.

This place felt like home, nice and comfy bedding, good hospitality, food food, very convenient, I booked more than twice and I didn't want to go. Tge staff are amazing. Hana and Makoo are amazing people and such a banter. They made our stay quite enjoyable. The owner of the hostel is also a great chef! I highly recommend this place.

chill place with good burgers and highballs, bar is open until 9-10pm which is good considering its a small island village!
