"Argentina's Regional Cuisine Chef Pablo del Rio blends traditional recipes and ingredients from Argentina's seven regions under one roof at Siete Cocinas restaurant. The seven regions represented include: Noa and Litoral in northern Argentina; Cuyo, which includes the Mendoza province; Metroplitana is Buenos Aires ; Mar Argentino, the country's East Coast; Patagonia Andina and La Pampa. The elegant restaurant is a refurbished colonial home in downtown Mendoza. It has a minimalist design with an open kitchen that seats 70 guests. The menu features Patagonian lamb, rabbit, pork, trout and traditional Mendocenean empanadas. Work your way around the country with Siete Cocina’s seven region tasting menu: a pacu (fish) filet salad (Litoral); watermelon salad (Cuyo/Pampa); fried Atlantic pollock cheeks (Mar Argentino); veal tail with tortellini (Metropolitana); succulent goat roasted in a clay oven (Cuyo); red berry sorbet (Patagonia Andina); and sugarcane ice cream with almonds crisps and toffee (Noa). The wine list is extensive. For a memorable dining experience, book the private dining table in the wine cellar. If you're leaning towards a non-alcoholic beverage, try the infused Tealosophy teas from the in-house tea sommelier's personal brand. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. We found this place by living on Mitre street. From outside you can see it is a place with a lot of style and character. It’s not on the main street, but it’s positive as it’s not mainstream neither touristic. The atmosphere is very good inside the restaurant, the waiters are very nice and helpful, and the food is just marvelous! It’s a mix of tastes, original but excellent choices, and very good cocktails. Everything for a very decent price, comparable to the other restaurants, but you pay for the food and for the experience, and not for the mainstream place. Highly recommended!!

Closest experience to a small hip lower East side NYC restaurant in atmosphere that I've had in Argentina. Very good tapas and drink

Favorite place in Mendoza! Love the bar and small plates. So happy they brought back Siete Cocinas! Truly wonderful people and amazing food.

Excellent food and cocktails and very cool setting. Menu is a bit confusing – there seem to be two restaurants so there is a bar menu and a restaurant menu. Doesn’t really matter – all the choices are interesting and tasty. Staff is friendly and, if you Spanish isn’t up to snuff, can speak enough English for you to have a great time. Only complaint is the music – love the sound track but turning it down a bit would facilitate better conversation.

Outstanding restaurant that celebrates all Argentinian cuisine whilst throwing a few surprises at you. The food was a joy, the local wines were well paired and the setting itself was beautifully relaxed. We were looked after from start to finish by the owner and his friendly staff who took pleasure in telling us all about each course. We could not have asked for more.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. Pablo, the owner, sat with us for most of our meal and had great stories and insight into the evolving Mendoza food and wine scene. Very memorable experience!

This place is now called Siete Cocinas. We stumbled upon the restaurant in February 2018 looking for dinner and not really wanting anything fancy but that is exactly what we got. We didn't regret it as we had an amazing and unexpected food experience here. To start, they offered 3 or 4 different types of amazing bread. The wine that the main chef suggested was super good. Then came the starters consisting of chorizo, empanadas, and pumpkin with honey and cheese. For the main course we had the ojo de bife and patagonian trout. Everything was absolutely delicious. The owner/chef came to speak with us and you could see the passion he had for Argentinean food and you could taste this in what we were served. I highly recommend going here if you are in the area!

Excellent food, great wine and cocktails and very cool space , but the service managed to be even better. Great experience. One of the best I’ve had in a long time.
